Thank you so much! Sweatshirts these days! Ugh! the rib knit is the same size as the fleece anymore : / (giving them more of a tunic or maternity look. With your instruction - I was able to remove the rib knit, resize it to 80% of the circumference of the sweatshirt and how to re-sew the rib knit back on. Success! Your video was easy to follow - I appreciate You!
Oh, awesome! I've been thinking about putting one of those higher up on the forearm so my hands are free when doing things with tools or anywhere you don't want material to get caught. I wouldn't even know the word to search for. Thanks😋✌️
Oh what a great video! I bought a shirt that I love, but the sleeves are too long. With this video, you've shown me how I can re-attach the cuff when I cut the sleeve shorter. TY!
Over all I would say 2 inch difference but this really really depends on how stretchy your rib knit is. Some of it stretches like crazy and some of it barely stretches.
I like this technique! But how do you get the size? Measure it all stretched out to match the sleeve size? Would this work on collars too, like tee-shirts or mock turtles?
I have made a few elastic waist knee length skirts and both have the same issues. the back is always shorter than the front and when the wind hits I feel like Marilyn monroe trying to keep my skirt down. Any suggestions or videos that address these issues? I appreciate all your videos and how detailed but easy to follow along they are for me.
Hi! You could undo the hem, add a 6" wide piec of fabric at the bottom, understitch the seamand then stitch it 6" above the original hem. It's not supposed to show it goes on the inside, and ads weight to the factory hem. That's why many paper patterns have a wide hemto add weight so it doesn't fly upward in the wind. 😁
I have a NAUTICA zip hoodie that has cool stripes on the inside of the cuffs. I want them to be inside out so they can be seen. Gonna see how much it costs at my local RIP n STITCH alteration shop.
@@SewAnastasia It turned out amazing!! I had the bottom waste of the jacket turned inside out too with the stripes. Costed me $20. Totally changed the look of the jacket. Later!!
Can you do a video on inserting ribbing neckband to sweatshirt please? Thank you for this cuff video you make it look easy. How do I look at your virtual sewing?
The jacket does not need to stretch but the rib knit needs to stretch to be the same size as the raincoat sleeve opening. Hope that helps. Happy sewing and thank you for watching.
I've been having troubles with my rib knit while I'm sewing it. Like it'll stretch while I'm putting it on a waist band so it'll be uneven when I come to the end. Obviously it's designed to stretch but it's frustrating.
This video gave me seven super girls vibes lmfao…i forget which one it was but one of them was loud and quirky…I mean no insult as I loved to watch the seven super girls
I finally found the right video to help me! You are charming and adorable and I love how you got right to the point. Thank you so much!

Hi! Thanks for the video. Are you sewing the seams with a straight stitch?
How do you know the length and width of the material you are supposed to buy first for around a wrist and then for an upper arm on short sleeves
Bravo! 👏🏾
🥳
rockin!
Thanks for the helpful video! I just subscribed. Could one use the same technique for the waistband of joggers? Thanks so much!
You totally can. Thank you for watching. Happy sewing 🧵

What kind of ribbed knit fabric for cuff and hem of the top?
@@LOVEtoWear-wz9oc You can use any rib knit that you like.
Hello I have a tricky project where I need a ribbed cuff, but there isnt exactly a sleeve. How can i do that?
Stretch it and sew it on.
Great tutorial! I was wondering what is a good ratio for sleeve opening to rib knit cuff?
Over all I would say 2 inch difference but this really really depends on how stretchy your rib knit is. Some of it stretches like crazy and some of it barely stretches.

What kind of foot are you using please ?
Just a regular foot.
I like this technique! But how do you get the size? Measure it all stretched out to match the sleeve size? Would this work on collars too, like tee-shirts or mock turtles?
what gsm should the cuff be in relation to the main body material. Guessing it should be as close as possible?
Is there a way to fix the cuff without removing it?
Thanks!
Diane
We’ll what part of it needs fixing?

Thanks for sharing! I know there are some skirt weights out there so this does not happen. Take a look for them. AC

Is there a recommended width for the cuff for a jacket?
I would say 4 inches.
I have a NAUTICA zip hoodie that has cool stripes on the inside of the cuffs. I want them to be inside out so they can be seen. Gonna see how much it costs at my local RIP n STITCH alteration shop.
You can totally do it!

Hi Anastasia, can you give a place to buy the rib knit, I’ve tried JoAnn’s, they do not have a great selection. Thank you 😊
How much smaller should the cuff be as opposed to the sleeve of pant leg?
Is there one with her finishing that raw edge with a zigzag stich?
No, but you can just use a zig zag stitch instead of a serger. Just let the stitch go off the side a bit so it binds the fabric.
Can you do a video on inserting ribbing neckband to sweatshirt please? Thank you for this cuff video you make it look easy. How do I look at your virtual sewing?
I can. Classes are at sewanastasia.com
I am adding a cuff to a water proof jacket that Doesn’t stretch. What do I do?
The jacket does not need to stretch but the rib knit needs to stretch to be the same size as the raincoat sleeve opening. Hope that helps. Happy sewing and thank you for watching.
I've been having troubles with my rib knit while I'm sewing it. Like it'll stretch while I'm putting it on a waist band so it'll be uneven when I come to the end. Obviously it's designed to stretch but it's frustrating.
Try quartering it and pinning it at those points or using clips. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching.
Is there a reason you didn't remove the side bed of the sewing lessons so you could just rotate the sleeve on the exposed arm?
Appreciate your videos!
I don’t think it was big enough to fit around it .
@@SewAnastasia hmm, makes sense.
