    Learn how to change angles in boxing offensively and defensively. Practicing these drills will significantly improve your boxing footwork in general.
    To date participants have been learning
    - boxing stance and basic footwork / movement
    - punch technique and how to engage an opponent
    - how to shift their bodyweight with punches to form combinations
    - how to use the boxing bag effectively
    - learning many different boxing combinations
    - defensive skills (both blocking and evasive skills)
    - trainer pad work
    - gym exercise techniques with the free weights
    - and we have been putting it all into practice in sparring over the last several weeks
    But now it is time to learn some more advanced footwork skills and improve on our ring craft.
    If you land a punch on your opponent or when they are covering up you may get an opportunity to quickly change your position and strike them from a different angle. Your opponent would be vulnerable to strikes from a different angle and would have to adjust themselves to face you to continue fighting.
    You may also use the angle changing footwork skill to help you evade an attack for when your opponent moves in to strike you. Or to avoid being cornered in the ring by quickly changing your position to escape.

    It's easier said than done , the point of the first few punches before you pivot off is to make him take him full high guard, which limits his sight , catch him flat fooded, if you manage to pivot off without him seing you then the world is yours , i like to do it off a feint or off a bump it works for me

      This video is to see the footwork and learn it. To actually execute it you have to learn the nuances of boxing to make it work.Like you said making him use high guard and throwing a punch that blinds him or force him off balance with lateral movement or smart defense. No matter what you have to crawl befor you can walk. Before sparring,all this needs to be incorporated into shadow boxing or separate drills to get as efficient as you can.Then you incorporate it in sparring.

    We did something similar to this in kickboxing, diamond footwork, set a few cones in the shape of a diamond and we move around the cones until we feel ready to go into the diamond and attack. I highly recommend you to show your viewers stuff like that, easier to understand when you have something to look at. There are many videos online about it if you want to look it up. Just a tip, no hate. 👍🏻

      Not sure what you mean exactly i'll have to search it.
      This wasn't too hard for them to learn actually.
      I just elaborated on the drill and explained everything at once for the video mostly. In practice we broke the drill down.

      The best way to use this tech is you bombared your opponet with light punches ( light jabs and light power punch ) try to block his sight and thn change angle suddenly you have to be quick enough to deliver your shot before he turns towards your , he will take few sec to realize that you are no longer in front of him due to the light punches that blocked his sight ( just watch lomachencko and you will understand more )

    I love boxing through n through it's always been my sport n always will be only thing I don't like with this video or whether its martial arts videos or whatever fighting examples always seem to be given in perfect settings and conditions where everything is monitored and controlled I'd like to see examples of technique displayed in real time as if though it were a real outdoor brawl where one fighter is a beast naturally but untrained as a fighter vs a skilled well trained boxer that knows how to use his skills a real life no rules setting

    • @ram0666
      @ram0666 2 роки тому +1

      No matter what you have to learn all the footwork to create angles in a controlled setting. The more time you put into it,the more experience you will gain to see what works for you. Of course, this is a beginner training video, with 2 evenly skilled fighters none of this would be that easy.As you get better ,you will learn the tricks to set up certain moves using more crafty techniques.No matter what you still have to learn the fundamentels of footwork.The better you get,. the quicker you will become . Besides becoming more efficient you also learn how to disguise your foot movements with feints,slips and tactical punches that may cause your opponent to act in a way to be able to make the move you want.

      @@theunchallengedking7175 its just not advanced at all, he's literally pivot stepping. This won't work as demonstrated in sparring.

    • @ram0666
      @ram0666 2 роки тому

      @@Jayematic No matter what the footwork is sound and you have to learn it in order in to become a solid boxer. What he isnt telling you is that for it to work their is a few more things that you have to learn. You have to learn how to be crafty with your other movements. Example,understanding how to throw punches that may blind your opponent in order to gain that split second to get in position to land the punch or use some lateral movement while feinting to keep your opponent off balance in order to make the move work. The idea of creating angle of defense is a little harder when 2 fighters are the same level. I have noticed it works more often when when guys get tired or as the sparring goes on guys get lazy mentally as well.Sometimes it takes a few rounds for bad habits to show up in order for these things to work.

      @@sonofapollo5892 It may be hard to believe, but yes. If you want to actually be able to use it, that takes a long time. I teach Boxing as well as Wing Chun and I can tell you that bad habits are really hard to break. For the average person who goes to school or has a full time job and can only train a few times a week, it probably takes at least a year before you can really fight properly and effectively.

    I love all the “teachers “ on here showing “their knowledge” lol. It’s strictly Cus D’Amato’s peekaboo system exemplified by Mike Tyson. This shown is the “D’Amato” shift. People watch Mike Tyson training with Cus and Kevin Rooney on here. You’ll get more out of it.
