Great video again, Tony! Do you have one, or will you make one, about "getting hit"? How to handle taking punches, how to get used to taking shots, and what a boxer needs to do if he is hurt? Thanks!!!
Can you make a video how to slip through the opponent?... I really want to know how to slip effectively and it's not being explained in any other videos.
What about a video for beginners that drills footwork? My issue is I'm new, and my sparring partners are new. Our gym is small and we don't have much experience. Any one on one drills for footwork designed for 2 beginners would be greatly appreciated.
Because boxing coaches don't have the experience he has they are probably amateurs not olympic medalist like him it's kinda like a detective vs a fbi agent I think
Many boxing coaches, most, are frauds, have no real experience or training, and are on step ahead of the fighter they are training. This goes right up to the top pro levels with trainers like that of AJ.
Not only does Tony have massive experience and success at the highest level, being a former European amateur champion, an Olympic silver medallist, plus an undefeated pro, he is an exceptionally good communicator. He is also willing to share quite advanced methodology, and, why or why not to use various techniques in specific scenarios, because of the reactions of the highest level opponents. I should know about Tony's communication skills, because I'm a teacher. Communication to students is the key to success in the teaching profession. I wish I had learnt all the great stuff Tony imparts 30 years ago!
Hi Tony I just want to say thank you. I’ve been boxing 4-5 nights a week for the past 5 months and your videos have really helped. My coach said last night “you’re coming across loads … you’re going toe to toe sparring with bigger guys and holding your own” it meant a lot. And a lot is down to you. We don’t do much technical stuff at my gym I learn it from your videos and precision striking… Tom Yankelo etc at home. could I request a shadow boxing drill video please? Also what advice would you give with regards to when someone is unloading on you .. like are there any tips you could give as in the best way to cover up, move or counter? Protect the man Tony Jeffries at all costs!!!
As a coach in castlebar boxing club in co Mayo Ireland .. I would like to thank you for all your videos, they are just excellent and have sharpened me up on all techniques in boxing in general. .. I will be recommending all members in our club to follow you .. Thank you Tony .. fair play to you 👍👍🥊🥊🥊🥊
@@charteredfinancialplanner yeah loose, but using lats and your back to create snap like the shoulder creating snap on other punches...it accelerates the punch in a kinetic chain
In boxing, pivoting is based on a defensive mechanism. In basketball, pivoting is based on an offensive mechanic. I grew up doing both sports, so that was something that I've always found interesting. Nice video, Champ!
Long time watcher, first time caller.. 😂 shadow boxed with no formal training for the better part of the last five years and have learned more from you in the last 6 months than I have my entire life watching boxing and mma. Really helped bring the footwork and head movement together.
Hi -Tony, Jorge from Madrid again. I'm 53 years, looking much more at this stage for Technical boxing than conventional boxing with contact (though I still do some light sparring time to time). I wish to underline how much I like the way you explain and focus on the technical skills of the noble art. You've been a great boxer, and now you show wonderful skills to transmit your knowldege. Congrats; I regularly follow your videos. Hug from Spainl
If you can see the last cat reaction backing up slowly with high focus and then as soon as the sneak attacked, it pulled back and counter attacked the sneak with a quick short hook then pivot ( changing angle ), very beautiful! Thats kinda reminded me of Floyd check hook against Ricky Hattan
My coach always tells me to pivot the way you threw your last punch, so if you end with 1,2,3 3 being a left hook and you're standing orthodox, you would actually step left with your left foot first, then the right foot would follow, but we were trained to duck and roll as we do it. If you do a one two combo, then you would pivot right, but tbh I really like your style a little bit more because doing what my coach tells me is almost readable by the opponent in the middle of the fight, and the only time I ended up adding points up was getting creative with my pivot steps like you showed in this video. Thanks man!
Hi Tony. I have started a UA-cam boxing channel myself. I to am a former fighter. I was a National Australian and Asia Pacific champ. With over 30 pro fights. Keep up the great work mate 🥊
I would love a video on your opinion on the cobra style freestanding speed bags which are becoming more popular, and also good drills/tips for them. Thank you 🙏🏼
My coach doesn’t rlly always care if I know how to exactly do a move or not and believe it or not but sometimes I question the way I do things so this helps me suuuuper much even though Id say Im longer in this
I'm currently living in the U.S. south, where there are giant cockroaches. So at 1:47, I naturally jumped back and came close to breaking my laptop :):) That said, love your videos, brother. Good stuff.
Tony you are a great trainer! I have learnt a lot today from your training....the fine details which were hidden about boxing techniques are now very clear to me.
Squishy the buggy lol classic same at my gym im a fresh face to the channel southpaw I started boxing for fitness... now an addict 😅 I want to be good enough to compete athletically so I've come for extra tips
You do the pivot switching ur back leg first but Ive been taught doing the front leg first Now both feel weird to execute even though I practice daily and look up how other ppl do them

Your videos are really good bro. If you would be so kind Please break down fighting backwards and the balance required(punching and slipping backwards and then suddenly taking the angles for Feinting and/or stepping in to attack).
the timing is perfect, i just worked on that this morning during my sparring session! I have to work more on it, i'm not satisfied with my current level.. could you make a video about the soviet boxing, the way they practiced boxing? It would be amazing. Also, how to fight a smaller opponent, how to keep the distance. Thanks a lot sir
Good day to sir. Can you make a video on counter punching with southpaw stance. I box even if im at my 30's. This is my passion. Watching good videos and apply it to my boxing skills. I like your vids straight to the point and very informative. God bless to you sir
I love training on the bag. never competed only train. Im tryna learn the movement. I notice when I throw a combination I'm heavy footed . if there was someone in front of me if be after eating a few 🤣🤣. watching some videos on head movement and pivoting
Excellent video 👌! Never trained boxing. Did martial arts. I believe a kickboxer & wrestler is very dangerous fighter. Which I had studied boxing as well. Thanks mate 👍!

HI Tony, just a quick "thank you" for your content. Really enjoying your videos and they are helping my training. All the best mate
Perfect explained👌🏽🔥 can you maybe show some methods for developing a perfect uppercut?
yes, that would be great. Do you feel the loose style Conor McGregor uses is effective?
@@watericesalt5798I didn't ask you though did i?
LondonDavid being loose creates way more power.... uppercut included.

Best boxing channel on UA-cam by far.
