Great video again, Tony! Do you have one, or will you make one, about "getting hit"? How to handle taking punches, how to get used to taking shots, and what a boxer needs to do if he is hurt? Thanks!!!

What about a video for beginners that drills footwork? My issue is I'm new, and my sparring partners are new. Our gym is small and we don't have much experience. Any one on one drills for footwork designed for 2 beginners would be greatly appreciated.

Many boxing coaches, most, are frauds, have no real experience or training, and are on step ahead of the fighter they are training. This goes right up to the top pro levels with trainers like that of AJ.

Not only does Tony have massive experience and success at the highest level, being a former European amateur champion, an Olympic silver medallist, plus an undefeated pro, he is an exceptionally good communicator. He is also willing to share quite advanced methodology, and, why or why not to use various techniques in specific scenarios, because of the reactions of the highest level opponents.
I should know about Tony's communication skills, because I'm a teacher. Communication to students is the key to success in the teaching profession.
I wish I had learnt all the great stuff Tony imparts 30 years ago!

Hi Tony I just want to say thank you. I’ve been boxing 4-5 nights a week for the past 5 months and your videos have really helped. My coach said last night “you’re coming across loads … you’re going toe to toe sparring with bigger guys and holding your own” it meant a lot. And a lot is down to you. We don’t do much technical stuff at my gym I learn it from your videos and precision striking… Tom Yankelo etc at home.
could I request a shadow boxing drill video please? Also what advice would you give with regards to when someone is unloading on you .. like are there any tips you could give as in the best way to cover up, move or counter?

In boxing, pivoting is based on a defensive mechanism. In basketball, pivoting is based on an offensive mechanic. I grew up doing both sports, so that was something that I've always found interesting. Nice video, Champ!

I wish to underline how much I like the way you explain and focus on the technical skills of the noble art. You've been a great boxer, and now you show wonderful skills to transmit your knowldege. Congrats; I regularly follow your videos. Hug from Spainl

If you can see the last cat reaction backing up slowly with high focus and then as soon as the sneak attacked, it pulled back and counter attacked the sneak with a quick short hook then pivot ( changing angle ), very beautiful!
Thats kinda reminded me of Floyd check hook against Ricky Hattan

My coach always tells me to pivot the way you threw your last punch, so if you end with 1,2,3 3 being a left hook and you're standing orthodox, you would actually step left with your left foot first, then the right foot would follow, but we were trained to duck and roll as we do it. If you do a one two combo, then you would pivot right, but tbh I really like your style a little bit more because doing what my coach tells me is almost readable by the opponent in the middle of the fight, and the only time I ended up adding points up was getting creative with my pivot steps like you showed in this video. Thanks man!
