I remember Lowko often saying:

It's true Maru doesn't often name his marines, and usually not Jimmy.
That one, though, was named. He named him "Lowko".

I've been watching this game for 13 years and just now noticed that zerg assimilators glow when drones are mining gas from them...
same! i enjoy the graphics so much. focussing at all the details is just inspiring from time to time.

Game number 1 was awesome.
Honestly I very impressed by BOTH players. After such a stellar start, Maru could have had an easy win. And he tried to get it, not exactly disrespecting Dark however, but still tried to get the "killer move" rather than "when ahead, get more ahead" approach. Which is not ALWAYS the move, it was right to try and more blows! But Dark still manage to exploit these attempts, counter them, defend defend defend until you are actually back in the game. And Maru STILL manage to swap his strategy a few times. Beautiful.
According to lore, the hellions were made in 2490, then the cyclone in 2505, and finally the ability for the hellbat transformation in 2506.
I don't know about that, 2490 was ten years before sc1 and hellbats were around during hots in 2505, but the cyclone thing is probably right. Cyclones existed for a while as autonomous vehicles driven remotely, like raven, before that was ditched for putting a pilot inside and they started becoming a standard part of the terran military during/post lotv

I think lowko and pig are the most observant in terms of the overall picture of the starcraft community whereas the others concentrate on the game itself. Europeans have the most optimal build orders and they are usually ahead in supply almost always. Koreans mostly are reactive players (especially Maru) where they usually takes a peak on his opponent's build first before amassing any kind of production, thus playing on a back foot. Uthermal might still own most of these players today but he already makes a living with his contents much like Harstem. StarCraft is a game where you just get better over time.
In SC2, if they tell you one of the races in the game is the hyper aggressive early game one, and the other is trying to desperately defende, How many people would think Terran is the aggressive one, seen the Zerg design? 😅

Ngl i dont think many Players would have been able to stay in the game like Dark did after the gold base gamble didnt work out. Brilliant recovery by him but i guess in the end it didnt even matter ^^ Maru played this pretty much flawless.

Noob here why didnt he cancel the hatchery in high yield mineral area after spotting bunker?
He didn't spot it. As lowko said, while building the hatchery has lower vision then when completed. The bunker was just outside that range
