I am on a bit half over your video watching but i put pause ti tell you that i admire youre work! Instead to buy te complete unit wich fits there perfect you decided to make it by yourself, to build it! Its just amazing! Congratulations bro!
Hi Claudiu, thank you so much! That means a world to me :) And yes that is the hole point of the video! You can build these things yourself, you don't always have to buy expensive media centers / trim / etc. Have you seen my video: How to make trim around car head unit - ua-cam.com/video/2fYcPW_i8mk/v-deo.html Here I make a trim around the head unit with plastic tree putty - And not just buy an expensive trim.
@@kruusecarfix yes i see that also, its just amazing! Congratulations bro! I am an owner of a Peugeot 407 too and i.m thinking about a head up display...but i don't think i can be so hady as you so i probably have to pay a fortune for one...
@@claudiuborta8342 Ha ha, of course you can! And yet again thank you. Sorry for the very late reply! Yes you can but you than have to seperate the wires to the power and the speakers! I got it from alixpress here: www.aliexpress.com/item/33040337354.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.21ef1802wF5u3E
So sorry for the late reply. They were the right place because I bought an adapter for my car. Hi Kjetil, do you mean instead of the preinstalled colourscreen or do you mean you have a Info screen / display Screen with color? If so yes it will completely wotk with that :) I'm pretty sure it will work with the GPS you have in your car, they are typical generic both hardware and the connector. Otherwise you can just get an adapter for it.
@@kjetilkongro ohh that is cool! But yeah it will work with that as well! But I don't think there is enough place for both of them! :) As the image you send, where do you want to place the media center?
There is no accessory wire.... the original headunit turns on/off using the CAN bus messaging system. Also everytime you connect to diagnostics or unplug power, the time will reset. Best to buy something like a Autoleads PG-013 iirc which can use the stalk to control it. Also then you get an accessory wire with that, along with parking sensors and the screen display.
Hi Bigkification, wow that is great! Do you use that yourself? If I disconnect the battery, yeah then I have to set the time again, but not when I just turn the engine off. And I know with my setup unfortunately I can't use the steering wheel controls like turn the volume up and down :(
@@kruusecarfix Yes, I use the Connects2 CTSPG013 with my android headunit. It doesn't work with RT3/RT4/RT5 units (I had an RT4, you have to make some slight modifications, connect the little screen to the CAN bus and power wires, then reprogram the BSI and tell it the car has an RD4, if your car has RD4, it's plug and play!). Works perfectly with my android headunit, I have my parking sensors working, along with beeps coming from speakers (alternatively you can program BSI to tell it to use the steering column speaker if you do not use the more expensive one), steering wheel controls work perfectly, it creates an accessory wire itself and also creates a illumination and park/reverse signal wires too. Everything you'd need!
@@bigkification that is so cool! More than well done :) Do you have video on that? I have just bought a separate parking sensor system, the Peugeot doesn't have parking sensors etc. And I have the back camera (will be in a near future video :) when the weather gets warmer here in Denmark) My head unit also have key 1 and key 2, but havn't played with it yet. I saw a video here on UA-cam on how to connect the Steering Wheel Control to Aftermarket Android Car Radio, and with my multimeter I think I can find the signals from the original steering wheel control. @@kruusecarfix I would highly suggest getting the parking sensors from a scrap car and integrating those. It's worth the effort as the OEM system works REALLY well. I drive a 407 Coupe! No, you HAVE to use a canbus decoder such as the box I use, the steering wheel control messages are sent over the canbus and can't plug in the wires - you could damage the BSI doing that!!
@@bigkification Okay thanks I will look into the parking sensors :) Wow I absolutely love the coupe version! One of the most beautiful mass produced cars. You used the grey OEM antenna plug with the Fakra adapter. Does it make any difference in reception strength if the white ant plug is used ?
