      Hi Claudiu, thank you so much! That means a world to me :)
      And yes that is the hole point of the video! You can build these things yourself, you don't always have to buy expensive media centers / trim / etc.
      Have you seen my video: How to make trim around car head unit - ua-cam.com/video/2fYcPW_i8mk/v-deo.html
      Here I make a trim around the head unit with plastic tree putty - And not just buy an expensive trim.

      I just bought my head unit from Aliexpress www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=200215580&SearchText=head%20unit
      And just connected the wires, just follow my guide, and if you have problems just reach out to me, then I will help you though it.!
      Where are you located? I love my Peugeot 407 SW :) I'm also soon to be a father, so a lot of space in that car.

    You used the grey OEM antenna plug with the Fakra adapter. Does it make any difference in reception strength if the white ant plug is used ?

    What did you do to fix the problem of the pins being in the wrong place

    • @kruusecarfix
      @kruusecarfix  2 роки тому

      So sorry for the late reply.
      They were the right place because I bought an adapter for my car.
      I solder the adapter together with the new plug/adapter from the media center, there are a wire diagram you can see what goes to what, in the media center box.
      From the car I needed to check the wires of course, and I used the wire diagram I have attached at:
      ua-cam.com/video/ZigMxEd1Al8/v-deo.html
      But you can also take out the wire pins from the adapter and change position, if they don't match :)

    Hei, does this work on 407's with GPS and colourscreen preinstalled?

    • @kruusecarfix
      @kruusecarfix  4 роки тому

      Hi Kjetil, do you mean instead of the preinstalled colourscreen or do you mean you have a Info screen / display Screen with color?
      If so yes it will completely wotk with that :)
      I'm pretty sure it will work with the GPS you have in your car, they are typical generic both hardware and the connector. Otherwise you can just get an adapter for it.

      Hi David I bought it from Alixpress, I guess you can do that as well :)

  • @bigkification

    There is no accessory wire.... the original headunit turns on/off using the CAN bus messaging system. Also everytime you connect to diagnostics or unplug power, the time will reset. Best to buy something like a Autoleads PG-013 iirc which can use the stalk to control it. Also then you get an accessory wire with that, along with parking sensors and the screen display.

    • @kruusecarfix
      @kruusecarfix  4 роки тому

      Hi Bigkification, wow that is great! Do you use that yourself?
      If I disconnect the battery, yeah then I have to set the time again, but not when I just turn the engine off. And I know with my setup unfortunately I can't use the steering wheel controls like turn the volume up and down :(

    • @bigkification
      @bigkification 4 роки тому

      @@kruusecarfix Yes, I use the Connects2 CTSPG013 with my android headunit. It doesn't work with RT3/RT4/RT5 units (I had an RT4, you have to make some slight modifications, connect the little screen to the CAN bus and power wires, then reprogram the BSI and tell it the car has an RD4, if your car has RD4, it's plug and play!). Works perfectly with my android headunit, I have my parking sensors working, along with beeps coming from speakers (alternatively you can program BSI to tell it to use the steering column speaker if you do not use the more expensive one), steering wheel controls work perfectly, it creates an accessory wire itself and also creates a illumination and park/reverse signal wires too. Everything you'd need!

    • @kruusecarfix
      @kruusecarfix  4 роки тому

      @@bigkification that is so cool! More than well done :)
      Do you have video on that?
      I have just bought a separate parking sensor system, the Peugeot doesn't have parking sensors etc.
      And I have the back camera (will be in a near future video :) when the weather gets warmer here in Denmark)
      My head unit also have key 1 and key 2, but havn't played with it yet. I saw a video here on UA-cam on how to connect the Steering Wheel Control to Aftermarket Android Car Radio, and with my multimeter I think I can find the signals from the original steering wheel control.
      What car do you have?

    • @bigkification
      @bigkification 4 роки тому

      @@kruusecarfix I would highly suggest getting the parking sensors from a scrap car and integrating those. It's worth the effort as the OEM system works REALLY well. I drive a 407 Coupe! No, you HAVE to use a canbus decoder such as the box I use, the steering wheel control messages are sent over the canbus and can't plug in the wires - you could damage the BSI doing that!!

    • @kruusecarfix
      @kruusecarfix  4 роки тому

      @@bigkification Okay thanks I will look into the parking sensors :)
      Wow I absolutely love the coupe version! One of the most beautiful mass produced cars. I remember the 406 coupe as well from when I was younger, love that to. I'm getting a child soon so that is why I went with the SW :)
      Have you had some of the common problems? I just got a "side lamp faulty" but the light bulbs are all working. Bet it's the earth / ground wire.
      Thank you so much bigkification then I won't investigate the "key 1 mapping with the head unit as it is".

    You can buy aftermarket head units for peugeot 407. Dont need to destroy the car like this

    • @kruusecarfix
      @kruusecarfix  3 роки тому +1

      Ha ha of course you can do that Paulo! But they are much more expensive than this one. And by showing it like this you can do it in all kinds of cars and not only a peugeot 407.
      The only thing I destroyed was the trim around the headunit, in the next video you can see how I made a new one :) And yes you can buy a trim as well, but not the same fun, and you can't buy that as well for all cars.
      I didn't cut the wires I bought an adapter for that because from time to time I need to plug the old radio in to set the clock.
      But yeah thanks for the comment, you can of course just buy a headunit that fits the dash.
      Best regards Christian
