    well done...i am sure i have the same fault ..holden astra ah...i have similar scan readings to yours..car runs great ..code P0170 only comes up after a couple of days and only comes on at startup never while driving...had previously changed fuel pump and injectors because both those items had problems

    Hello I Have This Issue To My Mitsubishi Colt 1.3 i P0170 Change The Fuel Pump,Fuel Pressure Regulator,Crank and Cam Sensor,O2 Sensor,MAP sensor,No Vaccum Leaks ( I Do Smoke Test,Change The Spark Plugs,i service My VVT Cam gear I Change Gasket Because It leaks Oil,I Change PCV Valve,Do Some Change Oil.. My Car Good in Idle But When The Engine Warm And Put It in Drive My Car is Stalling Then Engine Dies.. But When I give Gas Put it in Gear then drive The Car It Runs Fine but I fell Some A little bit Of Stall.. Pls maybe You Have Some Idea..

I just find it, 9 may 2023, i was looking for a other problem, but this misfire engine problem was one month ago my problem, i have solved without OBD scanner, just using my brain, let my explain( I'm sorry when I'm making mistakes with my Englisch). I'm 74 years now, very low education(a few years). All the things what i know, i learned on the street, and I'm very good in a lot of things. I connected the diagnostic device to the OBD and noted the results of the 02 sensor 1 bank 1 at a cold start. Here are the results: for the first few minutes on a cold engine, the values ​​will smell from 0.65V to 1.27V for about 2-3 minutes after starting. then they drop and are in the range of 1.15V to 0.4V for the next 3 minutes. After about 10 minutes of engine operation, the values ​​range from 0.9 V to 0.1 V. The corrections for the first minute are about -24%, then after a few minutes they stop and are below 5%. Do I understand correctly that it may be a matter of a damaged heater? it seems that after heating the exhaust, the voltage values ​​are correct, only deviations from the norm are when the engine (the probe is cold) As for the O2 sensor 2 bank 1 values ​​for less than 2 minutes 1.25V - 0.05V.     Great video and am sure I have the same engine. EW10A RFJ. I too have a fuel rich 0170 code. It start after I fit a new coil pack and plugs. (To remove the 0392 coil fault) So i fix one fault and now a new fault! Can new spark plugs cause this? If their electrode gap too large?

    You used the grey OEM antenna plug with the Fakra adapter. Does it make any difference in reception strength if the white ant plug is used ?

    I am having that code po170. On Kia Soul 2010 2.0L. That has 2 o2 sensors. Evidently I will be testing the front sensor. Runs good until engine has warmed up then problems with Rpms up and down. Hopefully that’s the remedy. Thank you

    The best video, very well explained, now I have a small idea how the sistems work, I have a petrol 1.4L Peugeot 206 from 2005 A couple of days ago I had AntiPolution Fault and check engine I did an OBD test, removed the fault, the check engine is off, but I still get the code P0170, while the engine is idle and worm My rpms go form 0.8 - 0.7 I can smell some petrol from the exhaust I think as well My O2 S1 shows between 0.1 to 0.8 fluctuating , the O2 S2 is fluctuating between 0.7 - 0.8 I will soon check the other live data to see what I get

      I cleared the P0170 code and it didn’t come back If I do Emission tests, it says: Fuel - Fail Catalyst - Fail Oxygen Sensor Fail My live sensors show the following numbers: Short term Fuel % trim - Bank 1: -3.13% Long term Fuel % trim - Bank 1: 7.81% Intake MAP: 37kPa Intake air temperature: 23•C Throttle position: 9.41% Oxygen sensor 1 Bank 1 Voltage: 0.8V Oxygen sensor 1 Bank 1 Short term fuel trim: 3.91% Oxygen sensor 2 Bank 1 Voltage: 0.78V Oxygen sensor 2 Bank 1 Short term fuel trim n/a% Do you have any idea what could be wrong?       The emiddion test doesn't work on my OBD either! Your trims sounds okay to me. I would check / clean the O2 sensors and mass airflow sensor. Also just check for leaks on the hoses, regarding false air. You do not get an additional error code like: P0171 - System running lean or...

      So sorry for the late reply. They were the right place because I bought an adapter for my car. I solder the adapter together with the new plug/adapter from the media center, there are a wire diagram you can see what goes to what, in the media center box. From the car I needed to check the wires of course, and I used the wire diagram I have attached at: ua-cam.com/video/ZigMxEd1Al8/v-deo.html But you can also take out the wire pins from the adapter and change position, if they don't match :)

      Hi Ilyascay, sorry late reply! A closed loop is where the engine operates with a feedback loop. A sensor closes the loop. In open loop, the engine doesn't listen to nobody, it just runs off a set of instructions based on where the throttle is. So you always wants to check the data in closed loop :)

    I've had a P0170 code fuel trim, it started with revs being inconsistent at idle. Thoughts were misfire as the exhaust sounded like it, so I checked the plugs, they were coated, replaced with new, replaced coil pack, done a service cleaned out throttle body, all hoses clean, air, oil, oil change, m.a.f sensor change, still does it... In fact i drove it around the block, engine cut out 3 times.. I'm thinking it's possibly a crankshaft sensor.. any advice appreciated.

    Hi. Need help please!! First try to understand some words I use because I don't know the exact car terms. The car is opel corsa 2004 1.2 c. (Gasoline.) I had the same. When drive with middle gas pedal was good. But when go all of it the check engine light was on. Or when the light of fuel low was on, had it. I have the p0170 error. Plus a p0300 & p0302. Stared long a go. First change 4 sparks and for 2-3 days was ok maybe not because I was not stress the car after. The problem stays so I try to find out Then go to mechanic and looked the sparks again the multiplayer and "pipes" (hose) of sparks was ok. Then the injection system was ok too. Then change the fuel pump. The fuel in a gas station must not good so the pump the filter next to pump and the pump inside was full of small iron grains which sparkle in light. The gas filter out of tank was black and full of dirt.... put a new one Inside the pump was not work freely but working anyway. We check fuel hose from tank to engine there was dirt but clean them. Check the pump wires and clips again because problem stays After all these parts we checked - change .... the car is working much better but the light check engine is still there some times. Before go to mecanic I saw your video so know what to check. The mechanic says after he looked and the computer of car.. that the engine works in the borders (gets 24 % of gas but not understand him much) but he can't understand the other 2 errors p0300 which is multiple misfire engine And p0302 misfire on cylinder 2 after check the plugs, multiplier and injectors. Also change places of sparks multiplayers pipes, hose... Do you have any suggestions? Need more clues? We did not check air filter or maf or O2 sensor or anything involving with the air of the car.       Hi Dimitris Okay so you can drive with middle gas! That is good. Yeah p0300 should be regarding misfire in the engine! And P0302 more specific on cylinder 2. Have you checked the ignition coil? Doesn't think it is the fuel pump, could perhaps be some clocked fuel injector!? Absolutely check / clean the MAF sensor and test the O2 sensor with a multimeter! Air filter is easy to check so clean that as well! Best regards Christian Can you use this?

      @@kruusecarfix Thanks for responding I think after cleaning the air filter with vacuum cleaner and then clean the maf like you said .... now the car runs better than before. With no troubles. But I m not sour yet. The check engine lamp is not on when i press the car like before, maybe I mast replace the air filter with a new one. And there is no error on computer when check.       @@TheDimitsi That is so great to hear! :) You can also try start the engine without the airfilter, just in your driveway without driving it to the street to see if that helps / it's clocked.       @@kruusecarfix Hi again. The problem is still there. P0170 stopped when diagnostic but now p0300 and p0302 is still there. I use the pedals check. After check everything except o2 sensor, ( coils, sparks, pump, air filter, clean maf, ) the lamp check engine when pressing the gas pedal all the way is still there. And it's not always the same. Some times is on with less gas others with more. Some times never and works good. But I m sending you again because a new problem start. The car as so far as I can see when the temperature rise to 90 c and the ventilator mast start to cool the engine then the car is turning off for 30 sec. Then start again!!! With no problem. But when the vending mast off then is off again and start after few sec. The ventilator and fan when start or off the engine is off for few sec but start after a while. Never before the temperature rise to 90o c until now. And always work in winter to 83o and summer 87o. Never 90o unless in big traffic some times. Do you think is because the oil in engine is very thin so I must change it with new? So the temperature not rise so up?

      @@kruusecarfix The new problem With the engine turn off after few kilometers and then start again after 1 or 2 min. is not because the ventilator mast start in 90 degrees C. or when stopped. I check again and it's not that. I dont know what's the problem. Now I have 2 issues. P0300- p0302 and the engine is stop after few miles. Very frustrating when y dont know how to fix. Any idea's? Please help. The only think I did not check so far is O2 sensor. I will shock tomorow.

    excellent video thank you. I have the P0170 code and was suspecting the front sensor 1. I was told it might be difficult to take it out tho, if I break it, I'd need to get a new manifold, do you agree with that? Can I test it with the meter before taking it out of car? Hope to hear from you, J

      Hi BigPicture, thank you so much! Yes you do not want to break it! Some use heat on it before screwing it out / you can also tightening a bit and untightening a bit the bolt, just wiggle it back and forth to see if it gets lose.     Hi there. I have a po170 and po173 codes on my Mitsubishi montero limited 2001. The car idles fine .the check engine light has been on for a long time. What would you suggest I do first? Clean MAF sensor? Replace o2 sensors? I have changed the plugs, wires, intake manifold gaskets and valve cover gaskets. I’m just hoping I can figure it out myself since the shops are so expensive.thx for any suggestions

      Sorry for the very late reply! Did you manage to fix it? P0117 is the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, and could as I remember be the reason why you get the P0170

    You can buy aftermarket head units for peugeot 407. Dont need to destroy the car like this

      Ha ha of course you can do that Paulo! But they are much more expensive than this one. And by showing it like this you can do it in all kinds of cars and not only a peugeot 407. The only thing I destroyed was the trim around the headunit, in the next video you can see how I made a new one :) And yes you can buy a trim as well, but not the same fun, and you can't buy that as well for all cars. I didn't cut the wires I bought an adapter for that because from time to time I need to plug the old radio in to set the clock. But yeah thanks for the comment, you can of course just buy a headunit that fits the dash. Best regards Christian

    Good video. So when you change your battery and the timer for the smaller unit resets, how do you set the time and date? How do i operate the smaller unit to set up some basic car parameters like "Guide me Home" or "Permanent Boot Locking"

See: ua-cam.com/video/ZigMxEd1Al8/v-deo.html That is also why, don't cut the wires, just buy an adapter (it's like 5 dollars on alixpress). I do not have: "Guide me Home" or "Permanent Boot Locking" But could live without it if I had :) I can still control AC and etc. on the unit under.

    I love this explanation, but it is very hard for me to find live values. I use obdeleven, I think I over oiled my k&n filter. My car uses two map sensors, I cleaned both. So I assume it would be an o2 sensor. What do you think? I will ofcourse check the live data as far as I can.

      Hi Zuid Thank you so much! And sorry for the late reply. Can't you find live data or just reeze frames? Or try OBDMate that I use! Yeah it could be, but still hard to say! Try the OBDMate app, or perhaps just get a mechanic to read out. Did you use MAP cleaner? What error code do you have after cleaning the 2 map sensors?` I love k&n filters :)

      @@kruusecarfix I still thankyou for the reply! I am able to find live data, but unfortunately I can't find anything about intake manifold pressure. I also did clean both map sensors with appropriate cleaner, but I think one might be broken now. I also got no error codes left for some reason, but my car keeps stalling or losing power in higher rpms.

      ​@@zuidkb7312 Hi, the error code will come back! But yeah don't erase the codes before you are sure the problem is solved :) Can you provide me / send some screenshots of your data? You can't find the MAP data? Have you tried OBDMate? Also free app. The MAP sensor data should be around 14.7 psi But the car runs "normal" on lower rpm?

    Great video. I love the explanation of the values on the code reader. I will have to run the reader and write everything down. My car will not start. OBD code reader P0170. Fuel trim Bank 1. I will take plugs out tomorrow. I will get a New air filter.

      Hi Suzie Thank you so much! Means a world to me. You should be able to see a freeze frame or something like that on the obd app. What do you use? Your car will not start? Guess there has to be more wrong than just P0170

      I opened up my air box and the filter had fallen or been pushed down by the oil change place. Maybe I got dirt in my MAF? I will be renting a fuel pressure tester to make sure I have enough pressure to start car. Fuel pump is in gas tank of course. And I just fueled my car in the morning. 13 gallons. I checked all vacuum hoses too.
