I did this same thing to my 98 hatchback. i took off the metal bumper, window washer tank, tow hooks, and added a 36 inch areo skid plate under from the lip to the subframe. the car was much better balanced, performed much better and had a drastic improvement in highway mpg. I would also recommend a shock tower brace and lower arm brace: incredible ride improvment
I used foam board from the 99c store, cut and duct taped pieces together underneath. used pop tabs to mount it to all the holes in the bumper and cross member/subframe. then stenciled it out on to a sheet of aluminium. oh. I just saw your shock tower brace. do u have the lower one also?
Aaron Ruggles Well done! I want to do a front cover like that, possibly with a splitter. Top1 sells one for the Civic, but it's kinda pricey. Did you check out my coroplast rear bellypan? It takes care of the "parachute problem". I only have the top strut brace with cheap lowering springs. The car handles well. One of these days I'm gunna autocross it to see how it does.
Man, why did this fantastic video have to be soooo short!? This video is phenomenal! A real treat seeing this on my subscribed channels. Man I wish I could say but I'm at a loss of words. Slambo is looking great!
I have a suggestion for a good video! I noticed your headlights are yellowing, I've tried laquer thinner and many diy kits, I got my best results with a $30 meguiars kit that came with a drill pad attachment, it made them as good or better than the other meathods but over the years I've found the SECRET was some anti uv spray from Home Depot I got for patio furniture!!! I got clear gloss stained because they didn't have regular so they do look slightly wavy like a stained glass window, but I put 3 coats on 3 years ago and they still look clear as day even now! It was a life saver!!!
Cool tip! Thanks! Slambo's headlights looked great after I restored them with the 3M Kit years back, but I didn't keep them waxed. D'oh! 3M just came out with a new headlight clear coat product and I picked up a couple of packets at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA when I was out there covering the eBayMotors on the Road tour. I'm going to shoot a video with the new 3M product in the next week or so. I'll look for the anti-UV spray at Home Depot to use on the next vehicle after that. We have three sitting in the driveway that need the job done. Stay tuned!
can you please help me and post a link to the bolts and fasteners ive been searching everywhere and cant find them, thanks in advance! awesome video by the way extremely helpful !
Go0se Thanks, Go0se! Headlights are on the to-do list. I polished them years back, but didn't keep them waxed. I will be using 3M's new protectant and will have a new video posted soon. Stay tuned and be sure to check out the channel playlists!
Anyone know of any place that sells bumpers for hondas that don't sit so low? I just want it to be about a 1/2-1 inch shorter than the factory ones cause my car goes off road a lot and I scrape my bumper up in the washes
+Streeters Garage Thanks for the thought! New ramps are on my wish list. I saw some very cool stuff at Ford Nationals last month. eBayMotors had Rutledge Wood's '67 Mustang Fastback up on a sweet set of Race Ramps in their pop-up garage. The big dream is to have a lift …

Aaron Ruggles Nice! What did you use to fab the skid plate?

Chris fix has a FANTASTIC video on restoring headlights. I did it on my dad's truck before he gave it to my aunt, and so far no problems! :)
I have the same civic, parts are cheap. I love my civic. It's worth more to me because of it sentimental value but always fun to work on.
Many thanks!!! This exactly look like my 1997. Same coupe. I love it!
can you please help me and post a link to the bolts and fasteners ive been searching everywhere and cant find them,

MPGomatic thank you
Dan, I'm surprised you did not use a portable picnic table to make your job easier and not mess up your back
+pedro fernandez We have one, but it's buried under a bunch of parts. With my luck, I'd throw my back out dragging it out to the driveway. 😂
And I think more people should know the spray is the key!!!
How long did it take to get the bumper ? Was it trackable ? FedEx ? Thanks for the vid
Does anyone know if a 03 civic coupe front bumper and or driver side fender are compatible?
