Absolutely frustrating to hear people in the chat asking if he got a wisp at a specific location or saying that they’re sure it’s at this place but it actually wasn’t. The patience that Alpha has lol
Hearing Jacob vent at the start is understandable... I took my sweet time with the game and was pretty easily able to get most of the Dex filled out. I can only imagine the pain of trying to fill the Dex while also trying to rush it.
the battle with Volo, I had a lot of difficulty with and I loved it. it took me like 4 attempts to actually defeat him. haven't had a battle that difficult (personally obviously) in a long time. awesome stuff
I know I'm beyond late to this, but when Jacob started talking about a billion lions, I had to step in. If you had to fight a billion lions, and you killed one lion EVERY SECOND, it would take you over 32 years to kill all the lions. Now if all one thousand pokemon had to fight a billion lions, and each pokemon killed one lion a second, it would take 11.5 days to kill every lion. That's if every pokemon killed one lion a second, which you just know Caterpie isn't pulling its weight for 11.5 days. So obviously, you would think that I'm ruling in the favor of the lions, and you'd be right... until you remember that Magcargo burns at 18 THOUSAND degrees Fahrenheit, so you KNOW Magcargo would kill like a hundred lions just by sitting next to them for 5 minutes. And Magcargo sucks. Imagine what something actually powerful like Machamp could do. Machamp punches at 500 punches a second. That much speed backed by that much power means that Machamp could kill a lion in a single punch, and could kill 500 lions a second. It's not even a question of 1 billion lions vs every pokemon. The pokemon sweep this one easily. It would take JUST Machamp 23 days to punch every lion, without any help from the rest of the dex. And Machamp isn't even anything crazy like a pseudo legendary. Guzzlord is an ultrabeast that can eat mountains and crush buildings. Tyranitar's Crystal dex entry states that it can demolish a mountain in a single hand. So yeah, it would take the entire roster like 5 deafening, soul shattering minutes to wipe the billion lions out of existence. And not just by killing them. They'd decimate that lion population so hard that the lion species will have gone extinct and then get erased from history. Arceus is literally god. God is a pokemon and it created the universe. It could blink the entire billion lions out of life before you could even notice they were missing.

I don't even know if Jacob is reading the comments here, but I just want to say this anyway: it was a lot fun to rewatch the VODs (since it's almost impossible for me to watch the streams live, due to timezones), it's just nice to see the people I like to watch, enjoy the game as much as I did :)
18:30, 20:15 for Volo final encounter (well, with some preamble leading up to it)
5:53:53 arkeyuuus time
lmao i feel the cherubi struggle
it makes it worse that most of the research tasks are catching or defeating it
22:24 yeah I literally heard the piano and went “Oh no, I’m about to get screwed aren’t? I”
"Good thing this kills!"
Giratina avoided the attack
*medical flatline in theme*
2:03:39 Rotom jittering towards you happily just fills my brain with happy chemicals ❤
I'll never get over when arceus is standing right there and then texts you a flashbang
"I wasn't scared until I heard the piano." I feel this.
Ironically, Cherubi was the first shaking-tree encounter I had, and it didn’t take me long to find Bonsly.
MUNCHLAX ON THE OTHER HAND-
timestamp for finding cherubi: 57:00
timestamp for finding bonsly: 2:22:15
35:39 You just wasted all that medicine by not teleporting to a tent and taking a nap
In case no one brought it up: Volo's encoutner theme is Cynthia's battle theme while his battle theme is her encounter theme lol.
Ok one thing I need to say- Jacob voicing Volo is so terrifyingly good, his manic glee, his anger- it's so amazing and I think he could voice Volo idk-
Him looking for Bonsley is the funniest thing I've ever seen, after catching like 3 of them already
lol mood
“Let’s throw hands with god then” best line ever
can we get a clip of Jacob ranting through the pokedex? like just that whole opening lol
Can one send at least a time stamp for this video? 😅
21:57 Best Part
Playing the game I can confirm that cherubi and bonsly were the hardest to find in the game
My favorite part out of all of these is spirit tomb just scotching over three times to stare at Gastridon’s final words
I want to catch every pokemon in the game for a 2nd time so that I can name my character "Poke" and laventon will say that we could name the pokedex a "Poke-dex"
Omega brain
The random little stunky joining in on your legendary fight was beyond hillarious.
You should be able to give bonsly the legend plate.
2:22:20 THE BONSLY, THE BONSLY IS REAL
32:00 I thought Jacob's heartbeat flatlined when Giratina missed.
Absolutely frustrating to hear people in the chat asking if he got a wisp at a specific location or saying that they’re sure it’s at this place but it actually wasn’t. The patience that Alpha has lol
I love how Jacob just pulled a "NANI!?!?!?" giratina phase 3
Coming back and watching this years later after beating the game fills me with nostalgia. I know it wasn't *that* long ago but it still does.
That fight with Volo is exactly how I came to the realization of what was happening! 😂😂😂
I cannot believe that he beat the hardest to fight in all of Pokémon on his first attempt
He was insanely overleveled
Also to be fair there are probably harder fights
Cynthia's ancestor has started the bloodlines overwhelming team comp
26:04-26:09
So what is it about this blood line that has a love for Garchomp and piano’s
I dunno why but I find this hilarious
I feel this. I struggled so hard with Ursaluna, bonsly, and Cherrim 😂
i struggled with cleffa and cherrim ursaluna i struggled with but had fun bonsly was eeasy for me tho
@@_Tzeri got a bonsly mass outbreak
21:51 "Let's battle him before we summon Satan"
...We?
Bro I just randomly found this video, and I stayed for this guys charisma, I love it. What he says are my exact same thoughts while playing 😂😭
U did NOT just call him “this guy”
@@LordFood7 yes I did
Fun fact, you can catch a Togetic or even a Togekiss and curbstomp this fight with calm mind and draining kiss.
Seeing Jacob fail on the Arceus fight made me feel better, I got it second try, but to be fair the content do be entertaining
Alpha’s voice acting for volo is better than Pokémon’s voice acting for volo
This has the same energy as Kezu's theme for MH is the best.
@@aquilleswinkler5051 I’ve never heard it but I’m just gonna agree with u
@@uqure1595 only MH players get the reference so don't worry if you don't. The joke is there is no theme for Kezhu, it's silence. And There is no voice acting for Volo, hence the joke.
I love falling asleep to your vods at night since it takes awhile for me to sleep and I need audio lmao, keep up the great work!
*"I wasnt scared.... until i heard the piano."*
22:22
His voice acting is so over the top, but it works so well for that exact reason
I think my favorite part of LA was when my friend hacked in a Legend plate onto his shiny Event Arceus and we watched the counterpick war begin
Alpha's commentary on growing up with pokemon, and being peer-pressured out of playing games you like, is something I hear a lot and I've DEFINITELY experienced that pressure and bullying first hand. Remember that it's ok to like what you like, and the people who bother you about your interests are too scared to like things themselves for fear of being left out. there's plenty of people who have the same interests as you. be their beacon of light in that fog.
31:50 can I mention how well timed the music was with the heart beat part
Seeing Girarina go into its second phase still give me chills and makes me remember when I fought volo and my strongest Pokémon was lv 70
The way he gasped... The flashbacks came back
Alpha beating Volo and Giratina first try made me hurt cause it took me several hours.
Though also I wasn’t overleveled and I didn’t have any Alphas or Legendaries on my team.
1:43:28 Oh yeah. You'll have the time of your life on the Enamorous chase.
2:35:54 2:36:41 Oh... wow. You're so good at this. I overcomplicated my methods.
3:33:58 You really know how to handle your fanbase. I admire that about you. Keep being you, don't let the backseaters and haters manipulate you.
3:38:25 Jacob is actually trying to properly capture a pokémon without making a fool of himself?!
3:43:29 It's much easier to find than a single wisp, you can't start complaining now, because you will most likely later.
5:39:08 That's why it's best to do this at night. You can't miss them. Also I'm almost certain that it *has* to be nighttime for them to appear at all. The quest's name has is called "Eerie apparitions at night" . Tried google searching specifically to know if they appear outside of night, but the title makes the search results be the title of the quest...
5:59:12 I fought this fight at least 5 times and I had not seen this happen once. I must have been takings specific actions to unknowingly make him not ever use that in his attack pattern.
When Alpharad doesn't know how to pronounce "Arceus" even after getting the "arse phone"
21:33 Well, he transitioned fast into evil mode volo
