I’ve literally skipped through this video but two things he stated here caught my ear and earned a little respect. 1.) Be honest with a woman upfront and let her know you may be interested in polygamy later down the line if you already know that. This is not what the scholars say, the major scholars agree that if a woman adds to the nikah contract that the husband can't do polygamy he must follow it. You as a layman should not try to attack major scholars and interpret the quran and hadith based on your own desires.

I’m honestly not fond of brother Mahdi. His mannerisms are off putting and I disagree with a lot of what he says. I’ve literally skipped through this video but two things he stated here caught my ear and earned a little respect.
1.) Be honest with a woman upfront and let her know you may be interested in polygamy later down the line if you already know that. Women will respect you for your honesty towards them and you will save a lot of headache and find yourself a woman who will work with you.
2.) FINALLY someone who is honest about the reasons and motivations for men wanting 2nd wives. There’s this popular polygamy Muslim channel that boiled my blood talking about legacy and wanting to build a family as reasons for polygamy and while those might be advantages, no bro, those were not your driving motivations or primary reasons like please let’s just be honest. But I understand why men hide this……it actually is heartbreaking for women, especially first wives ….🤷🏿♀️ polygamy is definitely a test and my advice to women is to turn your focus towards Allah. It’s a wake up call from Allah telling you that you center your husband too much. Make Allah your center and your focus, and de-center that man. Then polygamy will be bearable because you realize the love and attention that you were showing to the man, it’s not possible for him to reciprocate in the way you wanted, only Allah can.

This is not what the scholars say, the major scholars agree that if a woman adds to the nikah contract that the husband can't do polygamy he must follow it. You as a layman should not try to attack major scholars and interpret the quran and hadith based on your own desires.
