I am almost overwhelmed with the level of knowledge here in all of Harold Halls Videos. And...His website is just loaded with fantastic ideas and projects. I just hope that his site does not get pulled down at some point in the future. This tends to be a problem with the web. Loads of knowledge was lost when Geocities went bust.

I have half a draw full of toolmaker clamps in different sizes that I collected over 40 years as a toolmaker. I am long retired now, but still use them constantly. In fact I currently have an arrangement of parts ready to be bronze welded rigidly held in position by two toolmaker clamps, and I can't think of a viable alternative that would work as well, and still leave room for the torch. As for using toolmaker clamps on a milling machine, I guess it would depend on the situation and size of the cut. I have used them to clamp the work piece to a heavier plate when the work piece was standing too far out of the vice jaws for instance. It stopped any chatter and helped produce a good finish, so score one for the toolmaker clamp.
