I have to say I was amazed by this gear system. It's incredible and uses all available space for the lever. My dad is a mechanical engineer. I was always more of automation and electronics guy, loved to chase electrons more than having fun with screws. I love how much time you spent having fun with Emily's robot arm gift. The goofy things you did and six million dollar man sound effects had me in tears. 😂And I'm sure Emily loves that you had so much fun with it.
I came to say much the same. Lifting that bench with it was incredible! Who knew it was so strong! I’m sure Emily the Engineer loved seeing this. Loved the Sound effects and lifting the kid off his feet for his chocolate 🤣👍🇬🇧
TOT is definitely the guy you want making your present in this game. I feel like he always goes above and beyond. Like the guy who buys an ipod for a 20$ secret santa.
I was concerned you were going to take the kid's lunch money, but I'm glad to see you only took his candy. You're saving him later dental bills, such a considerate man! 😁😂
I do so love Maker Secret Santa. These clamps for Becky are stunning. For half a second, I thought maybe "SUBSCRIBE" was CGI'd in on the clamp, but then I remembered who I was watching. Thanks for sharing!
I know it’s late to comment on this video but I just rewatched it. Tony is really a magical creator. Super talented, funny and creative. While he doesn’t post as much as he used to I’m really glad he chooses to continue to upload something every now and again. Tony if you happen to read this you’re the best. I hope getting used to the new arm.

Dang, in her video Emily called out the fact that she she received a hand as her gift, and gave one to you, and then you at least thought about giving a THIRD hand specifically to Becky and then ACTUALLY received one from Emily. Crazy.
I’ve got to say, some of yall make much higher quality and more time intensive projects than others. I sure would love to get This Old Tony as my secret Santa
@@ArunBasilLalWell, it's kind of in bad taste given that ToT has the advantage of years of metalworking and machining experience, which means his projects naturally align with the type of design that society sees as high quality. They've all made projects that are in line with their sub field of making, that really shouldn't be surprising or something to try and rank them on
@@bosstowndynamics5488 yeah, but not even bothering to properly clean up your 3D prints? Like all the fuzz on the spreader jaws? Just in poor taste IMO
@@Renee_R343think Emily spent longer designing and building hers than Tony did his because of two things - Tony's thing exists already. Tony has years of experience as a machinist. Tony made a machinist clamp. Emily made an arm. Materials wise, Tony used some spare brass and steel knocking about his shop. Emily used a bunch of plastic. Cost wise I wouldn't be surprised if it was fairly close. Tony had plenty of time to focus on finish, Emily spent hers designing the actual thing first. Now you value a machinists clamp more than a plastic third arm, which is fair. But effort and cost is probably about the same.
I made the same clamps in high school 46 years ago. Of course our shop teacher ( Rolls Royce trained machinist) made us us only a hacksaw and file to make the clamp body and lathe and drill press for screws. If it could be done by hand it was! Thanks Mr. Logan! I still use them today.
