Yes!! my takeaway, if God calls me to do something it is not how effective I am, it's how powerful He is!!! That is relieving. I pray that I stay in that realization and remember to continually swap self-reliance for trust in God. I have to remember that it is the Lord that goes before me that gives me the victory!! I pray God gives me courage to go forward in His ability and not mine. Thank you again Kim for another stellar study!!! I appreciate you taking time to bring these weekly words!! :)
I LOVE this--> "I pray that I stay in that realization and remember to continually swap self-reliance for trust in God." Yes! Because it's so easy to forget or simply lapse into that self-reliance mode without thinking about it. Keep us in that realization, Lord! It truly is relieving. And thank you ALWAYS for your encouragement. It means so much that you are here week to week. xo
Your love for revealing/discovering/sharing the truths found in God's word is not only wonderful to experience but also contagious. 😁 This chapter started out interesting to me in that those of Jabesh-gilead were so willing to make a covenant with Nahash. Had they forgotten their covenant relationship with the Lord? Had they forgotten how others sought covenants with Israel because they knew the Lord was on their side? Like you shared, in the midst of their trouble, they had forgotten all that they knew to be true. They were seeking their own solution to their problems and hadn't thought to consult the Lord. 🤔🤔 Sadly, it is still considered to be the first and best option. Thanks again for a great study.
Ahhhh, once again! :) Love your insights. I hadn't considered the covenant aspect, in particular the fact that *others* had sought covenants with Israel because of their relationship with the Lord! Yet, they were so quick to turn from that holy covenant. Yes, finding one's own solution is still the natural go-to option. Help us, Lord.... Always thankful to be studying with you, my sister. xo
I just came accross this video seeking to understand this chapter and OH BOY....it has been great! Thank you for allowing God to give you the ability to help others like me understand his word. I truly appreciate it! Blessings!
what a mighty God we serve ! He is so awesome! why do we worry? im so encouraged today ! And yes I'm assured that he's able ! thank you Kim wonderful bible study and looking forward to next chapter God bless you 💗
So thankful that you are encouraged! Studying these chapters keeps me encouraged as well....seeing God's faithfulness and power is amazing. Thankful for you and your presence, my sister! xo
How soon we forget...God always comes through for us...yet we often reject Him through disobedience, unbelief and looking to mere mortals for help...when true and lasting deliverance only comes from the Lord...May He remember mercy when dealing with us so that our enemies will not make a mockery of our lives. He is My Deliverer indeed.
This here--> "mere mortals"....exactly! And somehow those mere mortals can seem so wise and influential and whatever.....so we reject God in favor. Yet, that "true and lasting" anything comes from God Himself. Amen to your prayer for God to remember mercy when dealing with us. SO thankful for mercy and grace and that He is our for-real Deliverer!
I continue to learn and be blessed by these studies. Your love for our Savior shines in every lesson. Thank you, Kim. Looking forward to continued learning and clinging!
God bless you Kim because you have been a blessing to me. I was hesitant about reading the book of Samuel because it seemed so long, but you definitely make it more of a Joy to read. I shared your videos with some friends and they love you also. May the Lord continue to use you to share His word and be a blessing to others. May He continue to pour down His blessings and favor upon your life as you continue to teach His people. Grace, Peace and Blessings my Sister in Christ.
