You have no idea how much these videos help me understand. I’ve read Samuel before but I’m going back over chapter by chapter with you. I can understand it so much better
Hi Kim. I cannot thank God enough for letting me find you and your series of bible studies. I have been studying 1 chapter a day of your 1 Samuel series and also the Revelation series and though I have been a Christian for close to 4 decades and have read these books, your input has placed new insights and a better appreciation of these accounts. Thank you once again and I pray that God will continue to use you mightily to enrich and empower others. God bless you and the works of your hands.
It's so crazy - Saul did not hesitate to fulfil his own will, yet he refused to completely fulfil God's commands earlier. The pride is blatant here. This led me to pray against the desire to do my own will above His. This series has been such an encouragement and has also challenged me too. God bless you for this work, Kim!
You're right Kim. David KNEW that God was his refuge. He had already settled it in his heart Who his Protector was before knowing the depths of Saul's depravity. If he didn't know it before, he wouldn't have been able to survive that evil. That assurance definitely comes from clinging. I want to cling more. The more I cling today, the more assured I'll be tomorrow. Thank you again Kim for being so faithful in sharing your gifts. You've been doing this for 22 straight weeks and we're grateful!
"The more I cling today, the more assured I'll be tomorrow".....YES! (I'm always quoting something back to you because I love the way you put things! :)) So so true. We don't know what tomorrow holds, just as David couldn't have imagined Saul would sink to that level of depravity. But clinging to God keeps us focused on HIM and filled with assurance of His faithfulness. And thank YOU....so grateful for you and the others who've been here for 22 straight weeks, studying with me. I thought everyone would fall off after six chapters or so. :D This has been such a blessing!
I can't even imagine what the one Priest the fear and trembling after this horrible slaughtering of The Holy Priest and families going through myself! David is a testament to how it would be to have that faith in God Almighty Kim that you have pointed out here both the tragedy and the man full of faith and God's anointed! There is much here to think upon. I appreciate your faithfulness in sharing God's Word with us Kim and looks forward to hearing you read and share with us all. God bless you 🙏
Amen, Mae, truly so much to think upon in this chapter....both the senseless slaughter and David's great faith. If he didn't have the strength and faithfulness of God to look to....praise God for the refuge that He is!
Ok, I was going to watch this last night but, I ended up watching it this morning. I am so glad I waited because it was a perfect message for what I needed in this moment. I told GOD that I needed a supernatural WORD and this was definitely it. WOW, GOD is amazing.
Hi Kim I just started your series and has never been more hungry for the word of God . Thank you for all you doing . May God continue to bless and give your the strength to continue sharing and teaching us. I love you darling!!!
My, how heavy hearted must David have felt. It does make sense that David telling the truth wouldn't have changed the actions of Saul. Wow...how much of a departure Saul took. Reason didn't appeal to him at all. Great study Kim, thank you for this study.
Wow, Saul. How desperate one gets when he sees power slipping away. This guy is a piece of work. "Advancing the enemy's agenda" ---> wow; in that context it's even more horrific. Thank God that He has already overcome it; may He keep us ever watchful to that agenda even now. And 1,000 amens to your prayer at the end. Our Daddy's wings will keep us safe no matter what!
"...may He keep us ever watchful to that agenda even now"....1,000 amens to that too! The enemy will go for madness and mayhem but he's especially good at subtlety. Give us watchful eyes, Lord! Yes, love that we can abide in the shadow of His wings!
That is something we all have to learn and put into practice, "Trust on the Lord " For He does not forsake us amen👐 love how you put it into perspective 👐⚘very clear for whoever doesn't understand or needs it to be teach clearly... Bless you sister❤
This chapter sadden my heart what Saul had did to the people. David on the other hand still had that blessed assurance faith. We as believers of God should take note of that. When the enemy comes against us God set up a standard. I so Love your prayer at the end Kim. Keep working for The Lord sis.
GeJoan, amen, this chapter was a rollercoaster of emotions.....so sad to see what Saul did to an entire city of people....then uplifted by David's faith in God. So blessed to be studying with you, sis! Thank you for your sweet encouragement.
It seems as though Saul is getting more evil by the days, and his hate for David is relentless, But David knows that God is with him and is not in fear, but I understand that his heart is heavy at the death of the priest, women and children, wow...that has to be hard to digest... needed a moment with that one...... The one thing that is for sure is that God knows and sees all things and nothing happens without his permission so we know that he will work out all things for David's good and even though we don't always understand it we can be sure God is at work behind the scenes to bring about his purpose for his glory, thank you sis Kim for another blessed study and see you next week God bless you and your family 💗💗💗
AMEN, sis! God is surely at work even though we don't always understand and will "bring about his purpose for his glory".....I love that we have that assurance. There are many things we can't make sense of, especially the kind of evil that took place in this chapter....but we can always rest and stand on what we know about our God. God bless you too, sis!
I can't believe we're nearing the end of the book! I'm thinking of uploading a video this week with a question for you all who've been studying with me, so stay tuned....:)
