Oh this was so good! I loved how Hannah wasn't offended when Eli accused her of being drunken. She simply told him the truth and received his blessing that the Lord would grant her request. I also love how Elkanah and his family continued to worship the Lord in spite of the corruption going on in the "ministry". How many of us would have refused to go back because of what was going on? We can't let stuff like that keep us from clinging!
Such great points, Kina! Amen...it would have been easy to get offended when Eli said that, and yet she may have missed that blessing. And so true too that other "stuff" can keep us from clinging to God but we have to press through and KEEP CLINGING. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Love it!
Great point about the corruption of the ministry. Once I read the bible for myself, there was no turning back! This was great Kim.Please consider doing all the books of the bible. We need you more than ever now.
El-Rohi, the One who sees me in my wilderness, remembered me...I am writing in the past because He's already done it....Clinging to Him in "the midst of it all"...Thank you for making the story come alive...more Grace to You in Jesus' Name.
"He's already done it"....yes & amen! Love your faith, sis! Thankful for your prayer of more grace, and believing *that* is already done as well. xo Blessings to you, my sweet sis.
Thanks for posting! I was in one of my "I-don't-feel-like-reading-the-Bible" funks. And prayer and your excitement about the Word of God has gotten me out of it. God bless you.
Wow, Nicole, look at God! That blesses me so much. He is so faithful! Thanks so much for sharing that. Such encouragement to my soul. Blessings to you!
This serves as a great reminder of what God can and will do when we are tempted to NOT cling. As I listened to Hannah's story, I found myself thinking about those emotional prayers I prayed to God throughout the years. There were times that I did not cling to God, but He still answered...God is so faithful...just to think about all of the prayers He answered throughout the years...hallelujah moments throughout the day. Thanks for sharing!
Yes YES....those emotional prayers! So many of them, captured by God. And amen, I know there've been times for me as well that I did not cling to God, yet He answered, protected, showered grace. He is SUCH a gracious God. Always so good to see you, sis!
What's great about this is that I started 1 Samuel a few weeks ago, and as I usually do, let distractions get in the way of my Bible study time. Then I see that you're starting a series on 1 Samuel and I was too excited. I'm a week behind but so thankful for this study and for your wisdom!
Kim, thank you for this video series, it is truly a blessing! I have been reading and re-reading Chapter 1 and I can't help but think that it's possible that Elkanah did get "it" but that he loved Hannah so much that he wanted to be enough for her. He wanted to not see her sad and was hopeful that he could love her out of her desire for a child. Often we are like Elkanah and don't realize that we can't be "enough" that only God can and only He could fill Hannah's void. Thanks again for being such a blessing to me and countless others.
Kiva, this is why I love this communal study because the insights are invaluable! I hadn't thought of it that way, but you are so right that he very well could have gotten it. Yet, he wanted to be enough. *sigh* That makes me sad for Elkanah. :) And because she knew that only God could fill that void, her clinging to God brought a blessing to them both! So thankful to you, sis, for chiming in. Such an answer to prayer. I love being able to gain from other sisters as we study together. You are a blessing as well!
Praise the Lord have to give God glory because two days ago I was struggling with self-control and trying to keep my mouth shut and I'm struggling really hard and God drop your page right in front of me I never saw your page from two days ago and now I just thank God because he using you to refresh my faith I thank God for you
Thank you for this! Looking forward to working my way through 1 Samuel these next few weeks! Something else stuck out with me today, I saw the lacking of clinging by the other wife. Her pain at being unloved by get husband caused her to be bitter and cause pain in others. Seeking comfort and healing in God can change our heart attitude and set the tone for our lives everyday. Bitter and hateful vs hopeful and peaceful.
God Bless you Kim. Your love for God exudes through your video and teachings. I KNOW Holy Spirit Led me to you and I am now studying along with you. CLING & Joshua 23:8 was confirmation for me. Thank you for being obedient to the Father. You inspire me to grow and hasten my intimate walk with God !!!!!!
Elaine, thank you so much for your sweet encouragement. It's overwhelming to think that God would lead someone here and that it would actually be helpful. Glory to God! He is so faithful!
I love this account of Hannah and how she handled her adverse situation. When she was praying and then being accused of being drunk, I love that she didn’t get offended and also something I just noticed, is that as she was explaining what was going on with her, she didn’t put Peninnah on blast either. She didn’t start slandering her name or telling Eli the priest all the wrong things that she had done to her. That, to me, really highlights her godly character even more. I must say, noticing that has brought some conviction on my part. Ouch! But thank you Lord for showing me. Help me to only say or share what is absolutely necessary and nothing more, especially when it involves others. Kim, thank you for this study.
I started reading 1st Samuel tonight and looked for a study. Here we are. God lead me to your study of revelations. And tonight I’m led to your study of Samuel. I am thankful.
Am amazed by hannah's praying. After longing so much for a child she said she 'll consacrete him to the Lord!!! One would have expected mostly to see her saying " i will also enjoy the blessing of motherwood like peninah! But No! The prayer was " I will consacrete Him to the Lord " It speaks volume!
Thank you. You make understanding the Bible so simple. Keeps me interested in constantly learning more. I am studying on my own as well and will continue to do so but I struggle with a getting down a system that works for me. I appreciate this and will be asking God to place it on your heart and mind to continue these studies as he sees fit. God bless you Mrs. Tate!
I'm so praising God that this is helpful to you in understanding the Bible. God is so faithful! Thank you for your word of encouragement, sis. It truly touches my heart. Blessings to you too!
I'm so thankful you're loving Cling! And I'm so blessed to hear that you find clarity in the teaching. I know it's the Lord and I'm so thankful. Thank you so much for your encouragement. Blessings to you!
Oh how I love to cling to Him! I am finding strength each day, regardless of my circumstances. This lesson is coming through at a time for me that is so needed. So much in this Word this morning. Blessings to you, Kim! :)
Latosha, I love this...."finding strength each day, regardless of my circumstances"....amen! And I'm so thankful this lesson is timely for you. God is so faithful. Blessings to you too!
I am a new subbie to your channel and this is what I have been searching for. Real Bible study with a sister in Christ. I love the way teach and break things down. I have just finished 1 Samuel 1 with my Bible, notebook and pen. I have been reminded that God is Sovereign, Compassionate, He sees us and remembers us. I am truly blessed to have found your channel sister Kim. May the Lord continue to enrich and empower you and your family. Thanking you from the bottom of my heart
This was sooooooo good. Absolutely loved it. Please continue with this through other chapters in the Bible. You really broke down the scripture and helped me to understand it. Please keep this going.
Just finished your 14 day devotional on Waiting on GOD. I loved it, and I am going to love this series - perfect timing! I am clinging to Him and waiting on him. You have a beautiful way of relating the Word. I've found it difficult to study the Old Testament. Excited for the next lesson! Thanks, and GOD bless your ministry, Kim!
I'm so thankful for your encouragement about the Waiting devotional and this series. What a blessing. Amen to clinging to Him and waiting on Him! So looking forward to studying the OT with you. xo
I have just discovered your channel, and what a beautiful lesson you have taught. Following along, in my NASB, was a joy. How tender our Lord was to Hannah. Bless you, and thank you. I look forward to the next lesson.
This study was so effective. I often feel that I'm under a spiritual harassment type force on my job. Being provoked to the point where I feel like resigning with no other job in sight. Thank you for this, will be purchasing the book Cling.
I know that's not easy at all on your job....I have found that they most trying times are *the* times to cling to God. He always has a purpose for our trials, and one is that we grow closer to Him. Sending up a prayer for you, and looking forward to studying with you. xo
Kim your prayer is becoming my prayer. I'm looking forward to continuing my journey of CLINGING to God. Your ministry and exegesis is such an anointing in my life. God bless you. Now I'm going to read chapter one on my own as I commute to work.
Laverne, I love that it's becoming your prayer, and I love it because I KNOW God will answer (1 John 5:14-15) and you will be blessed on this journey. So thankful always for your encouragement. Blessings to you, sis.
I am so thankful I found your channel and what a blessing. This lesson was great and I am looking forward to upcoming lesson. I want to cling to God. Ms. Kim, continue to be blessed.!!
I've been trying to find a way to do bible study on my own and I think I have found the way I'm going to continue to study with you until God gives me the way that's right for me.
That reading was a Blessing to my quest to learn GOD. I Love how you covered the times this writing was in. It is very important to know that. I have subscribed WOG and look forward to GOD using u as a vessel.
Ha, I love it....yes, the good ol' NASB....it's been my trusty companion for 17 years now! I know ESV has overtaken it in popularity, but I can't part with my friend. :) Thank you so much for your sweet encouragement, sis.
I had to come back and tell you I had my own "cling" moment. I've read 1 Sam and 2 Sam before but the words (ESV) "in due time" stood out to me and I'm not sure why.
I'm excited about the journey together as well, sis! And wow, so thankful the reading was soothing to you. Thankful for your encouragement and love you too, sis! xo

Beginning to study 1 Samuel. Looking forward to going through this book with you. God is faithful :)
Good word cling to God because he is in charge.
First, thank you for busting out the trusty NASB :-). Enjoyed the study tonight. Great job breaking it down.
Ha, I love it....yes, the good ol' NASB....it's been my trusty companion for 17 years now! I know ESV has overtaken it in popularity, but I can't part with my friend. :) Thank you so much for your sweet encouragement, sis.
Thank You 😊
I had to come back and tell you I had my own "cling" moment. I've read 1 Sam and 2 Sam before but the words (ESV) "in due time" stood out to me and I'm not sure why.
I love how the Word speaks to us differently, depending on where we are, what season, etc. It's always fresh!
You such a beautiful, God-given talent. Just as Romans 12:6-8 says, God has given each and everyone of us unique talents and yours really is teaching.
I HAVE FOUND GRACE IN GODS SIGHT
Great job! Can't wait for the next one! Thank you!
Praising God for your encouragement, Sheree!
GOD DOES HAS A PURPOSE 4 OUR LIVES☺
thank you Lord that thou has granted me my petition that I have asked
Great study
@kimcashtate .. Amazing start to this study. So excited for our journey together and your reading was so soothing to me. #LoveyouSis #Clingstudy💕💕
I'm excited about the journey together as well, sis! And wow, so thankful the reading was soothing to you. Thankful for your encouragement and love you too, sis! xo
This is a nice study. But I wouldn't say that Elkana didn't love Pennina, cuz that is only a personal, non Biblical conclusion. The fact that the verse says that he gave double to Hannah cuz he loved her, means that he loved her, not that he didn't love Pennina. It is emphasized just the fact that he loved Hannah despite not being able to bear children and he gave her double, as a sign for her that she means more to him that what she can do, as a compensation.
Cuz the Bible doesn't mention anything about his love for Pennina, cuz the story is not about her, we can think naturally that if he wouldn't have loved Pennina at all, he wouldn't have married her in the first place.
Amen
Loving this! Eyes welling...sending to my girlfriends
So thankful to God. Blessings to you! xoxo
Awesome!
He was a polygamist!
