What is ASMR?
In my subjective view, ASMR is 2 things: a sensation and a medium (like music for example).
The sensation itself (ASMR) stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention.
ASMR videos, the medium, are not only meant to help induce the sensation or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety, stress, headaches, insomnia, to help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and much more. It is quite therapeutic, for both the creator and recipient, not much different than the mediums of music and painting.
Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy affect.

They hire some of the best artists in the world to commissions their card art. A great series here on youtube is 'the magical art of _____' if you are interested in the cards artwork.

My Dad had also introduced me to the game when I was around ten years old! It totally influenced my life and how I spent most of my teen years. I'm nearing the end of those years now and don't have anything bad to say about it. My Dad and I connected a lot through this and I hope you and your son can do the same. Also, the video was great as well, you've really seemed to master this craft!

You realize how time flies by when ER says his son is just under 10 yo while you remember a lego video where he says his son is 5 (and not 4.. haha)! It's like, you're part of the family!

I love how this set gives you the possibility of getting multiple rares in each pack. Like when you got the rare Flameblade Angel and a flip card, and then got a rare flip card Thing in the Ice! That's pretty sweet

Shadows over innistrad is the second Set of 2016. The first one was "oath of the gatewatch"
Not sure if this has been said yet, but Shadows Over Innistrad is in fact the second release of 2016, Oath of the Gatewatch being the first (released in january 2016).
yeah. but its sad that even though this is released i dont have much money and all i could get from gatewatch was a fat pack. nothing else :(. and now i cant get stuff from this release.

Funny enough, Hearthstone released their latest expansion, Whispers of the old gods recently. So two card games have released lovecraftian-themed expansions. I can dig it
i absolutely love these, as a college student I cant afford to buy any cards but your fat pack openings have made me extremely interested in playing. ill be watching this video tonight!

Yup, that and the art. Also, don't look up the rare and double-sided cards right away. They are always at the end (only followed by basic land/checklist and token), so keep up that surprise. ;-)

If you're looking for other card games to get into with your son, I highly recommend Future Card Buddyfight. It has very simple rules and a fantastic community, and you can get trial decks (the game's version of starter decks) on ebay for super cheap. Not to mention a new "series" has recently started, so it's a great time to start. It also has a fun cartoon your son and yourself could watch together (I just recently marathoned the first two seasons myself, very enjoyable).
The next one is Eldritch Moon! Very excited.

Great vid as always, plus foil thing in the ice is worth quite a bit so congrats!
Sleeves cover the top of your cards... well they actually cover the whole card, good for protecting your cards when shuffling, and if you are using some older cards or cards with nicks/scratches on them, it prevents you or opponents from knowing what the top card is on your library before drawing it.

Given the next one is Eldritch Moon and is in the same block as this set, I'm willing to bet you're right about it being Lovecraft Inspired X3
The original innistrad block was mostly inspired by gothic horror but Lovecraftian horror was the main theme of the zendikar block and its remake shadows over innistrad takes from both themes it's name is an obvious reference

fyi SOI is actually the second "lovecraftian" expansion, there was already an inistrad expansion years ago. just like the battle for zendikar set was a revisit of zendikar.
