What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention.
ASMR videos are not only meant to help induce ASMR or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety relief, stress relief, insomnia relief, to help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and much more.

ASMR is particularly good to work to. If you have a task/paper/job that needs doing but you can't focus, stick on a ER video or another ASMRtist to help get the job done!

FlattenedRabbit Isn't it though!? I figured this out a while back and now I always have one on in the background when working on tedious photoshop crap or any sort of frustrating computer task. Keeps me from throwing the thing out a window =P

FlattenedRabbit I agree, its better than music... with music I either get distracted by the music itself or from trying to pick one.
It's also much, much easier on the ears.

Yeah, just ptqs in regards to top 8s. Open series high finishes too but we all know how those are. Right now I'm actually to the point where I don't lose money traveling to tournaments every weekend. :D Do you play on any tournament circuits?

Uncle E. these split mana symbols mean that you can pay either this or that kind of mana... like if it was blue/black you could pay 1 blue mana or 1 black mana for that symbol

And I don't know many of the mtg artists, but Anastasia Ovchinnikova is easily my favourite right now, the way her art captures movement so gracefully is simply delightful. Especially her piece on the promo Prophet of Kruphix, it's my pride and joy of my collection right now, but that's also thanks to my love of green and blue and the way Prophet captures the flavour of those two colours

It'd be great if you could do a video where you sift through a pile of magic cards, like you did at the beginning of the last Magic video you did. The soft "smack" when you pull out a new card followed by the "sift" as you slid it onto the pile after triggered me greatly.

E.R., have you ever considered playing Magic The Gathering Online? It's not the most aesthetically pleasing thing in the universe but it's practical since you don't have to know someone nearby just to play the game. Just figured I'd say this in case you were interested!

ER, you singlehandedly got me into playing Magic via one of your earlier unboxing videos. Went to my local game store to check out what it was all about . . . and 1.5 years later I'm a moderately decent advanced beginner who plays Modern. Thanks for this--I've been waiting for another MTG vid from you. And it's great to hear someone actually pronounce "mana" correctly. :)

Aaaaaa this gave me some ASMR!!! I am so happy! I've been watching way too much ASMR, so been basically immune, but this was so good! The perfect amount of crinkle when you take out the cards! 😍😍
Since I live near Uncle E (I'm near Harrisburg, PA) and I play Magic: the Gathering, I'm going to add meeting him to my bucket list. And maybe playing some magic with him :D

Also, you're correct about fuse sorceries, you can choose to cast both if you can pay the mana cost. Typically they're pretty damn good if you can pay the mana cost.
I really love the black cards because they can wreck so badly and are cheap to cast. For example, a single rancid rats card will stop an opponent from attacking even if you don't have anything good to play because you will be able to destroy their best card.. if you had a whole hand of those they'd have nothing. Just rats.. then you hit them with some super beasts.. I also want to build a deck of invincible creatures that can't be destroyed by anything except expulsion spells and just be unstoppable..

I have played mtg for over 10 years. So far my favorite er videos have been comics pickup list, mtg 2014 starter opening and tinfoil hat society enrollment. I like how you go into details in these videos and it gives me the tingles! Was very happy to see another mtg video but was just a little bit dissapointed since u didnt read the card abilities and give your own opinions etc. I hope u could go into details for next one :). Also still waiting for New comic video. I fall asleep every night to one of your videos so Thank you for your amazing work!
If you read this, the split mana cost means you can use one or the other, and the symbol on the right has different colors for different rarities. Black means common, silver is uncommon, gold is rare, and red is mythic rare. I hope this helps your MTG playing. :)
What a coincidence, just had your mtg unboxing videos running yesterday and wondered if you still are interested in it. I occasionally jump in from time to time and think it's a timeless classic and probably my favorite card game ever. Therefore I obviously love the combination of it and good old asmr whispering.

i used to play back when there was this 6th edition with urza's legacy,balls etc..
and for those who didnt play used to gather all green and white cards together and tell their fortunes. (like sea + magpie -> you got happy news coming!)
stopped playing when people started printing cards and putting them in deck protectors, lost its charm when everyone used tourney decks

Rift a fun way to play magic with even people that are new is what my friends and i call "fat deck".
Rules:same as normal magic except any land can pay for any color ex: mountains can play green cards or white cards as if they cost red.
The only differences are you all share one big fat deck of mixed and matched cards you all draw from the same deck but each have your own grave yard.
The wife or even friends who never played mtg before can play and have fun.
Ps i wouldnt put planeswalkers or mill cards in (mill are cards that say remove the top 'X' number of cards from the top of a library amd put them into the graveyard)
Hope you try it, amd if you do have fun.
Oh almost forgot, lands should equal about 30% of the cards in the deck.

Yes, Orange symbols mean it's mythic. I like the crinkling of the plastic pages. Took about half way through to get into it, but now have full on peaceful tingles. Please do more MTG ones.
This didn´t put me to sleep at all. But you managed to reflect myself and raise some question on my own behavior. I do music and my lyrics will definetly will show it. And even on the pure acoustice side it will have an influence.

When a card has two colors split, that means either of them can be used. So, on arrows of justice, it requires 1 plains or mountain and two of any other color.

When the mana circle is split with 2 colors at the top of the card that means you can use either color to cast it, you dont need both =)

I play dotp 2015 online and "Sheolred, Whispering One" is my baby!! I also like Inferno Titan.
Stryker XL sheoldred is insane, fun to play, a nightmare to play against.

Zur'tah Ancient is a great card. I use it in my Red/Green aggro^aggro and it's very evil xD if use correctly you can drop your entire deck in one turn and just decimate everyone xD
I dont know if youve learned this by now (seeing as this is an older video) but the half mana symbols mean you can play either color. Like with Death Cult Rouge, you would pay one of any color, one black or blue, then another black or blue. I really like the Magic videos and alot of your newer content so keep up the good work!!
