    Such a useful and relatable video! I did a texture release back in January and have found that it has made my hair SO much more manageable and less breakage which means I've retained so much length and feel like my hair is actually growing now! Agree that it's not really humidity proof- I'm going to try combining it with the colour WOW humidity protector to help my straightened look last for longer, but i CAN say that when i do do twistouts, although they'r not 100% frizz proof, they last much longer before complete reversion and the volume is actually quite nice!

      I’ve just started using the Colour Wow, I’ve only used it once so I can’t really tell yet if it works! I need to try a twist out and see how it turns out, I haven’t done that yet!

    I have had a texture release and I will defo be going back for my second one, my hair is more manageable on wash days. I love my texture release, my hair is growing.. I'm hoping this time next year I will see some real progression with length and thickness :) There's no harm in trying, so go for it :)

    Thank you for the transparency! I got a texture release last week and have also been surprised at how it reacts to humidity, and I am not even on holiday abroad, still in the U.K lol! Don't regret it though because I got it for manageability purposes and even though I haven't washed it out, I am looking forward to this new journey :)

    The texture release stayed in my hair but i didn't mind either having said that some people damaged their hair by getting it done twice (their texture ended up loosening too much!). I've avoided this by using hair botox on my roots at home as a touch up. Also I began heat training from the roots. My hair is still type 4 but maybe went from 4b to 4a. Just sharing this to those considering the texture release. I prefer hair botox on my fine strands.

      @kmj2000 Hair botox is a term for a hair treatment that conditions and coats hair with fillers like keratin and collagen to repair damaged and broken hair fibers. This can help make your hair look healthier and thicker while also providing strength and protection from future damage.

    I’m really glad you mentioned the dry scalp and flakes. I was deciding whether I should look into a texture release but from this video I don’t think it’s much different from the Keratin treatment I got. I had the same exact problems with my scalp and ears about 8 weeks after my keratin treatment. Which is the typical skin cycle turnover. Though I don’t think it would be been as bad had I washed my hair earlier. However, I loved the treatment. My hair was a lot stronger, moisturized and much easier to detangle but the curl pattern was the same. For now, I think I prefer the keratin because I can control the amount of processing that my hair goes through with the heat versus a texture release. I only allowed them to do ONE pass with the straightener before washing it out and going to my silk press. You can probably do more depending on your hair texture but I really didn’t want to change my hair.

    • @_motheringinstyle
      @_motheringinstyle  Рік тому

      Yes definitely if the Keratin treatment works for you then it's probably better to stick to that! My dry scalp was pretty bad but like you said, after washing and giving it a few weeks it went back to normal xx

    Also on days you don't want to straighten your hair but also don't want to wear a wig, you could do a bun or use a faux ponytail; that would look so good on you 😉

    I ordered the kit. I live in a high heat, high humidity climate 365 days of the year. My twist outs last 2 days if I’m lucky, the heat bakes and dries my hair. For the past 2yrs I’ve been wearing protective styles and now I just wear my hair in twists. I want more versatility with my hair and was strongly considering light heat training. I will try this. All I want to be able to wear twist and braid outs.

    I got a texture release over a year ago and experienced my hair changing to due to the humidity blocker not being effective as well and I had to also straighten my hair daily. Looking back I liked how my hair would become bigger/wider but just wished my hair was longer. I don’t think the texture release is as good for 4c hair as advertised but I’m sure as our hair grows it will be easier to style etc

      @china.2816 Рік тому +7

      @@georgiag6851 Hey 👋🏾 I use different shampoo and conditioners/treatment but my favourite is always Aussie moisture especially their 3 minute miracle.
      Then when it’s clean and washed out. I only use Revlon Uniq One, it’s a leave in and heat protectant. I blow dry and most of the time straighten after.
      At the moment I go for cuts every 3-6 months. I’ve been trying to maintain a bob for a year but it grows so fast, so I get regular cuts at the moment.
      My hairdresser who cuts my hair also only uses Revlon Uniq One on my hair, I got the idea from her and it works for me. I don’t really add anything else to my hair after if it’s straightened but it’s preference based. My rule is never add heat after wash day.
      I have 4c hair if that helps also Xxx

      Ooo thanks for sharing, I will definitely try that one! I need to be more disciplined and only straighten on wash day too 😩 I find my hair starts to looks a little frizzy and I end up straightening it a bit again 🙈

    • @china.2816
      @china.2816 Рік тому +2

      @@_motheringinstyle I know what you mean, I get tempted to add heat but it’s not worth the anxiety 😩
      Because its getting warmer in U.K. now I’m going to try the Color Wow dream coat humidity resistant spray ( after I spray my unique one) and will see how my hair reacts.
      Another tip to stop frizz. I add a TINY bit of Gummy styling wax to my hand and lightly dab it on my hair before I go out and it really helps. I only do this if I’m going out in the evening and want to make sure I don’t look like a mad woman leaving a party 🤣 I’ve done it for concerts etc and my hair doesn’t puff - No gel as it’s water based. I wash my hair shortly after as of course it can change the texture but still looks the same (it still moves etc as long as it’s a little bit of wax)
