Loved your video and all of your suggestions, Miranda. I also love your usual choice of background music for your outdoor shots, it makes them feel all the more dreamy!
What a delightful video, Miranda! I really enjoyed the combination of art, books, and your favourite purchases that bring you joy. Thank you for sharing your support for Ukraine! I have been finding a lot of comfort in reading and walking lately. Here in New York we already have some beautiful snowdrops blossoms. The book I have been reading for the past couple of days is "Dog Stories" by James Herriot. Such a treat and comfort!
My dear Mother was a huge Anglophile (ditto for me)...She collected just about everything of JAMES HERRIOT. He had such a way of combining sentiment, nostalgia and tenderness and then seeped it in between the letters on the page. He wrote with so much affection about the animals of Yorkshire and the muddling humans who did or didn't deserve to have such incredible creatures under their care. I luv animals so I am a big fan, also. I still have all her JH 📚.
@@victoriah.3491 That is so lovely that you and your mom both loved James Herriot. I've only discovered JH's writing after watching the new adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small. I fell in love with the world of this show! You are so right, his writing is warm and comforting!
The most beautiful presentation, thank you! The Teddy Blake handbag and the rest, exquisite. I adore daffodils and orchids. Thank you so much for the tour. How lovely you looked in pastels! My regards to your dear mother. Again, thank you so much for sharing your world with us.
Lovely, eclectic video, Miranda. Thank you. Last Christmas I treated myself to an Emma Bridgewater mug with my name on it, and enjoy it every day. Lifting one’s spirits so important, especially now.
Hi Miranda, I've never left a comment until now but I just want to say that your videos are an oasis of beauty, tranquility and coziness for me. Thank you for making them!
Oh my this was delightful, that mug with primroses, your cards, the mini orchid that smells of vanilla, I didn't know orchids could do that 😄 thank you Miranda! Your visit to York and the books you've picked up including a signed copy by Rumer Godden, what a thrill. My Mom has collected Rumer Godden and Elizabeth Goudge for years and passed on this passion to me. Enjoy your wonderful finds and of course, gorgeous Spring handbag!
Such an enjoyable video, Miranda! I think you made a great choice for your Spring handbag, gorgeous colour. I love Emma Bridgewater mugs, too, and not much space left for any more but I have my eye on the Spring Chicken mug. Your recent haul of books is fantastic. I've just read Rosemary Sutcliffe's memoir and loved it, especially after recently reading The Armourer's House, great to see the connections with her own childhood. I just found a copy of Caravan Creek by Gladys Mitchell, which looks fun, 1950s adventures on the Norfolk coast. Sadly missing its dustjacket but only a £1 from Oxfam. Have a great week!
Oh my goodness the miniature Orchid.🥰 So cute and pretty! I love the smell of vanilla! Thank you for the lovely video! I enjoyed the format, showing your favorites and a little vlog. 😊
Thanks again xs 650000! I luv all yr vids. I can watch them over and over. When you went to "unbox/unbag" the 👜 I 🤔 thought, "I will be surprised if it isn't PINK!" 😆 A work of art that 👜...too pricey for moi. But still lovely to look at. All your book suggestions are exactly the kind of books I would chose, so thank you. I send you a virtual hug from across the "puddle". 🇺🇸🌍🇬🇧💕👑📚 Don't forget to ask your "Mum" if she would consider adopting a "Yank". I will get the paperwork started...just say the word.😆
Thank you again for a wonderful delight Miranda! This made my heart glad. I love the vase holding the tulips. Love the variety of sharings. Secondhand book-shopping is an obsession. Blessings
Thank you for sharing your trip to see the orchid show at Burton Agnes Hall and second-hand book purchases. When affordable, I also like to purchase vintage copies of my favorite books. Smiles, Stella PS--I'll be adding the ingredients for making brownies to my shopping list!
You may or may not have inspired me to pick up a couple more Emma Bridgewater mugs lol. Thank you for a calm and lovely start to my day. I haven’t been feeling too well, but your videos make me smile. God Bless you and your Mom ☺️
Loved this video, and the flowers & vase next to you as well as that gorgeous wallpaper behind you. A visual delight, for sure. I just received my Emma Bridgewater catalog and loved the new pieces but my favorite mug is still the Robins and the flowers. So glad I got the sunflower mug which while out of season I have been using in support of Ukrainian people.💙💛
What a lovely video this week, you packed so much in. Thank you for all the links, especially to Emma Bridgewater, Weleda, Olia Hercules and the Flee film. The orchid festival looks wonderful - I went to the one at Kew a couple of weeks ago which was amazing but the surroundings of the one at Burton Agnes Hall are spectacular! The Folio edition looks gorgeous and I'll be putting Dawn Wind on my list. Such a thrill for you to find the Rumer Godden signed copy.
Love your new bag and love even more your candid transparency in making it really clear this was a gifted promotion. Far too many UA-camrs skirt round the advertising standards rules and hide 'ad' in the small print, instead of making it as clear as you have done. Another fan of Emma Bridgewater here too - I just ordered some new rabbit crockery for Easter. I always notice and admire your tableware.
I love your new handbag💕this has been a delightful video. I love Emma Bridgewater too, and the tins are beautiful. I love the idea of filling them with homemade treats for gifting. My heart is breaking over the crisis in Ukraine 🇺🇦 thank you for the information on how to help. The trip to York was beautiful too. I had enjoyed the pictures on Instagram but the details from the video are amazing. Especially the orchid show, gorgeous!
Such a fun vlog. The handbag looked so perfect with your outfit in York. I'm afraid I drooled a bit over the mugs and the tins, not to mention your book haul. I do that on a regular basis when I watch your channel. 🤣 Great job, thank you Miranda. 💐📚💕
This was such a treat, I really enjoyed the variety within this video, and your new bag is beautiful. Looks perfect with your pink beret. I agree the current Emma Bridgewater collection is particularly beautiful! When you read the preface to the Puffin children's book the vocabulary and tone really struck me; it was eloquent and quite advanced. I think children's books now can be (not always) less challenging in some ways. I remember as a child the feeling of chasing knowledge and vocabulary when reading (I was a dedicated bookworm). I did not understand every word I read, but I got the sense of unfamiliar words because of the context in which they were written, and then if I spotted the same word in another book, my understanding grew. I ended up with a very extensive vocabulary! X
Such a lovely format for a video, Miranda! Really hope that you can make some more like this. Inspired me to think about Spring and starting to get out and about more after the very strange last two years. C x
Loved that book shop when I visited when we could travel! Slightly Foxed have reprints of Rosemary Sutcliff’s novels …looking forward to eventually acquiring some new editions. It’s so lovely to see a bookshop from the other side of the world that I have visited with fond memories and to see some old favourite books and authors:)
Thank you for this lovely (just like all of your videos are) video full of so many lovely things and recommendations! Watching it really helped perked up my spirits. And I was so excited when you held up a copy of "Dawn Wind" - an incredibly memorable, moving book that's been one of my favorites since I was 13 (many, many years ago), and now I want to read it again.
This was such a lovely newsy video Miranda! I loved seeing York and I am definitely going to try those skincare products. This weekend I am enjoying the snowdrops and catching up on books and sleep.
Hi Miranda, what a timely video as I am just off to Yorkshire again and will certainly look forward to visiting York and the exhibition. I also have an orchid to pick up from Burton Agnes whilst I am there. I have tickets for the Living North Homes & Gardens event at York Race Course too. Thank you for such an informative catch up and I adored your Emma Bridgewater choices that looked stunning with those gorgeous tulips. Have a wonderful weekend, Teresa
I love Emma Bridgewater, it was so fun to see all the new designs. I only own a small mug (with bees) and some catalogus but they make me happy every time. I will keep my eye on when the new collection hits the shops here in the Netherlands!
Your new bag looked lovely with your pink coat and beret ! I too love Emma Bridgewater, I`ve collected for a few years now and love to swap my pieces around to use seasonally and I agree her latest ranges have been delightful !
Hi Miranda I really enjoyed this video and loved your pink handbag. The books you have bought from York are really good choice. Will try at least couple. - Jess
Miranda I really enjoyed this Vlog.,, that hand bag is Gorgeous🥰.., I thought those tulips were fake because they look so perfect, I should’ve have know they were real, your taste in everything is so impeccable , Emma Bridgewater has some beautiful mugs, 🥰… Your Vintage Book Haul, was entertaining( I always learn something when you talk about books) … I’m going to end this comment because I can feel myself rambling on 🤷🏾♀️Thank you for taking us to York … I’m under the weather today and your Vlog really helped..
Thank you for sharing these things. I’ve been checking out Weleda for their pine bath milk as I couldn’t find that scent anywhere and I fancy a reviving spring forest bathe at home after forest bathing in the woods! I also have incredibly dry skin so will now look at their other products - thank you. I’ve enjoyed blossom, daffodils and a classical concert. Wonderful to hear live music after so long.
So many wonderful things in this video Miranda! Coincidentally I was watching whilst drinking coffee from my new Emma Bridgewater mug (daffodils and grape hyacinth). I’ve also bought the Easter egg mug. I’m usually tempted each season by something from her collection! The orchids were stunning and what a perfect setting for them. York is one of my favourite places. Was actually due to visit next week but unfortunately something has come up so has had to be postponed - hopefully next month.
I loved this video and all of your wonderful goodies. I am a Vanessa Bell fan also and the exhibition sounds wonderful. The cards are simply beautiful! ❤️
Hello Miranda, thank you sharing all the lovely things with us. The new bag looks fabulous! I love the orchid you got too; I can't seem to get my orchids to re-reflower here in Wellington after the first blooms have gone but I love the leaves 🍃. And my heart skipped many beats seeing the vintage copy of 'The Feast' - what a great find. I found a vintage hardback copy of Miss Read's 'Farther Afield' which has been comforting to read in these times. Anyway, I loved the video catch-up! All the best, Jason
Thank you so much, Jason! I cut my orchids down quite low, which I find helps, but then they can be rather temperamental! I was thrilled to find such a reasonably priced copy of The Feast!! How lovely you came across a Miss Read - always a comfort indeed! 💕
Miranda I so enjoyed your favorite things video and would love to see one each season of the year. Your parrot tulips are stunning! Tulips are my favorite flower but sadly I can’t grow them here in Florida. However, many beautiful varieties of orchids grow easily here and I love them also. Thanks for the book recommendations too! 🌞
Well that was an expensive half hour 😆🙈. The thing is you make such delightful recommendations. Thank you ever so much. It’s lovely to see you ‘out and about again’. Take care xx
I loved seeing everything you're loving at the moment! It all says Spring! I'm going to go look up a few of the books! I don't think I have a TBR list anymore. I just watch a few of your videos and I always find something I love! 💐
Such a lovely uplifting video from you Miranda. Thank you! You've now got me thinking about going to York to see the art exhibition - it's only a half hour train journey for me, so I just might treat myself. And a visit to the bookshop of course!
Such a lovely video! I love the variety. That's amazing about the signed copy of the Rumer Godden! I recently discovered the author R.F. Delderfield. I read his novel To Serve Them All My Days in January and I loved it. I am so excited that he has lots of books left for me to read. We are getting some tiny cherry blossoms on the trees in my area!
Oh yes, Weleda products are great and I'm a big fan of SkinFood. Love the mini book haul, it's always good to find an old Puffin. I bought my first Chalet School book this week for only 50c (about 25p!) from a secondhand shop. Haven't read any of those books before but your channel has inspired me to give them a go 😊
I'm continuing to enjoy the Weleda products, Lisa! I'm always looking out for vintage puffins too. Hope you enjoy your Chalet book when you get to read it!
Thank you for this lovely video, Miranda! I’m currently reading The Armourer’s House (much needed solace after the sad ending of The Mill on the Floss!). It’s a great little book which brings London before the Great Fire to life, as Shakespeare and Ben Jonson must have known it (Lammy was bought at the Bartholomew Fair🐑😊). I’ve just got to the point when the ride past the Tabard Inn and take the Canterbury Road. It’s December, so no time of the year to start a pilgrimage, but Chaucer’s London is there as well, of course. It’s such a nice book to follow the changing of seasons in town and country. I’m still looking forward to the blossoming of the tulip bulb🌷😊
I’m rather late watching this but wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. Your new bag is gorgeous and looked lovely with your blue dress and pink coat and beret, beautiful colours for spring! I am also a big fan of Emma Bridgewater and agree she’s really outdone herself with this spring’s collection! I have lots of her mugs (always so hard to resist!) and love to use the ones that suit the season. I’m interested to try Weleda cream, it sounds like it would suit my dry skin. I love Lumene cream too, that’s what I use daily. I’d love to hear if you have any recommendations for hair care as well as skin care, your hair always looks lovely! (I have wavy/curlyish hair which never seems to look the way I’d like it to!).
I love York. The combination of Betty’s, Toast and the art gallery is hard to beat for a day out. I enjoyed the exhibition and was pleased to see some paintings from the Bloomsbury group that were new to me. I was sad there was no exhibition catalogue. Maybe you could offer to write one!
That bag is luscious. I'm also coveting the ceramics and Bloomsbury cards. Friday's Tunnel sounds like the perfect antidote to the current news. This was a delight--thank you and happy weekend!
Thank you Miranda for such an interesting and informative video which I really enjoyed, as always. You packed such a lot in, and everything you spoke about engaged my attention! I’m travelling to York in June, and although sadly not in time for the Bloomsbury exhibition, you’ve given me plenty of ideas and inspiration for my visit!
So enjoyed this favourite things video Miranda, we need these at least once a month ! You are inspiring, I have already ordered the brownie recipe book, you made it sound so good.
I already have my mother’s day gift wrapped up, but I love the blue tit and daffodils tin and think it would make a good tin for me to keep my birthday, anniversary etc cards in for me. I have a box already for my ladies church group, but could do with one for me too and buy all my cards in over a few months for the whole year that way I save on time. I’ll probably get extra stamps to keep in them too. Actually that also sounds like a fab gift idea for anyone who lives in their own homes etc or who is in charge of buying and sending cards xx
Thanks so much, Lindsey! Don't generally read contemporary romance, I must admit, but know there's lots of books people recommend highly in that genre.
What a good time I had Miranda! Many thanks! How many interesting things! It has been fantastic, I share your weakness for Emma Bridgewater, I love it! I'm glad you found a copy of Kennedy's book The Feast, it's great. And your new bag has the ideal color, spring and very elegant. I💙York, thanks for taking us with you. And for everything you share with us xxx
This was so much fun! Thank you ever so much. I have such a weakness for Emma Bridgewater and have the blue tit mug on order. I never thought to use the Skin Food as a face cream - what a brilliant idea!
Miranda, Thank you for this video of beautiful, beautiful things!! In the midst of so much sadness, it is so important to remember there is still beauty in this world and to never take it for granted. I was up very early a few days ago and was blessed to witness a sunrise with the sky streaked with pink clouds. Took my breath away. Will definitely check out and follow Olia Hercules on instagram. Have a delightful weekend!

So happy to have bought the cards, Karen! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much, Miranda. This was absolutely delightful!
I'm very glad you enjoyed it, Rezna!
My Mother collected "Miss Read" books...I still have them...the perfect COSY READATHON FOCUS.💕🏠
Hello Mi.randa beautiful stuff you show thanks.
An amazing assortment of your “likes” and recommendations - I wish I could have it all. Thank you Miranda for an enjoyable video!
So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 💕
Miranda I so enjoyed your favorite things video and would love to see one each season of the year. Your parrot tulips are stunning! Tulips are my favorite flower but sadly I can’t grow them here in Florida. However, many beautiful varieties of orchids grow easily here and I love them also. Thanks for the book recommendations too! 🌞
Thank you very much! It would be fun to do some recommendations videos more often 🌷💕
Well that was an expensive half hour 😆🙈. The thing is you make such delightful recommendations. Thank you ever so much. It’s lovely to see you ‘out and about again’. Take care xx
Haha thanks so much, Jo! It was lovely to get to York again! Have a lovely weekend 💕🌷
@@MirandaMills Thank you, we are off to the Lakes, just overnight. Hoping for a host of golden daffodils. I hope you have fun too x
I loved seeing everything you're loving at the moment! It all says Spring! I'm going to go look up a few of the books! I don't think I have a TBR list anymore. I just watch a few of your videos and I always find something I love! 💐
Haha! Thank you, Angela!
Such a lovely uplifting video from you Miranda. Thank you! You've now got me thinking about going to York to see the art exhibition - it's only a half hour train journey for me, so I just might treat myself. And a visit to the bookshop of course!
Thanks so much, Sue! Hope you make it to the art exhibition. We enjoyed it so much!
That's a great book, Elizabeth. I'm a Delderfield fan too. Yay for cherry blossom and the beginning of Spring!
I was waiting for your video 😍
Me too!
It's such a lovely book, isn't it! Very happy you enjoyed the video, Emma!
@@MirandaMills 😊
Thanks for taking us along to the orchid fest Miranda😁. By the by loving the super dark hair on you!🙃
That's very kind, Deb! Thanks so much!
You have such good taste!
Thanks so much!
I love the color of the handbag so much!
It is so pretty! Makes me feel very spring-like! 🌷
@@MirandaMills It really suits you🙂💗🌷
Such a lovely video and I may have to add to my Emma Bridgewater collection!
Thank you, Sophie! EB is always so tempting!
Cute !Miranda❤️
It's such a lovely place to shop and visit, I think and also so easy to do on foot. I would have loved to buy a catalogue of the exhibition too!
That bag is luscious. I'm also coveting the ceramics and Bloomsbury cards. Friday's Tunnel sounds like the perfect antidote to the current news. This was a delight--thank you and happy weekend!
Thank you so much, Pamela! I can’t wait to read Friday’s Tunnel! Hope you have a lovely weekend 🌷💕
Glad to have inspired your upcoming visit, Elaine. York is such a lovely city. Enjoy!
So enjoyed this favourite things video Miranda, we need these at least once a month ! You are inspiring, I have already ordered the brownie recipe book, you made it sound so good.
I love it, Mandy! So glad you enjoyed the video!
I love the beyond the book videos too. Thank you. Please can I ask which eyeliner you are using and lipstick as they look lovely?
Thank you! Eyeliner is Boots no7 ‘stay perfect.’ Lipstick is Kevyn Aucoin ‘resilient.’
I enjoyed The Feast thanks to you ;)
Oh wonderful! 😊
Yes, the tin would be perfect for cards and stamps! Great idea, Angela!
You are absolutely adorable! I love your UA-cam channel. I think you should dive into contemporary romance!
Thanks so much, Lindsey! Don't generally read contemporary romance, I must admit, but know there's lots of books people recommend highly in that genre.
Lovely video.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Have a lovely weekend 🌷💕
This was so much fun! Thank you ever so much. I have such a weakness for Emma Bridgewater and have the blue tit mug on order. I never thought to use the Skin Food as a face cream - what a brilliant idea!
I love using it on my face! And I agree the blue tit mug is adorable 🥰
thats a nice bag
Miranda, Thank you for this video of beautiful, beautiful things!! In the midst of so much sadness, it is so important to remember there is still beauty in this world and to never take it for granted. I was up very early a few days ago and was blessed to witness a sunrise with the sky streaked with pink clouds. Took my breath away. Will definitely check out and follow Olia Hercules on instagram. Have a delightful weekend!
Thank you so much, Nancy! I love early spring dawns so much too 💕
