I bought a 2009 M90 in part based on your review. I watched your review again after riding it for three weeks. You were spot on in your thoughts about this motorcycle. I love this motorcycle. Thanks
This is what I ride. I'm a taller guy at 6' 2" and this fits me perfectly. Great for cruising and touring. It turns heads and with the right pipes it sounds great.
I've been watching some of your videos as of late.....the ones on the boulevard have been fun for me since I ride a 2005 c50 that I transformed into a custom hard bagger. In each one you talk about the "clunky" transmission.... I got to tell ya, I like the clunky....it gives me both a tangible and audible indication that I've actually made into gear.... I know it may seem weird, but I like it.
Been riding a 2013 M90 for 6 yrs now, bought it brand new. M90 is NOT a beginner's bike. This is a powerful, heavy sport cruiser that has a unique seat and foot peg to handlebar arrangement that places the driver in a shoulders forward, butt back , almost racing position. It's a blast to ride, but to set it up for long distance cruising would be like using a quarter horse to pull a buggy. This bike is problem free and totally dependable . Not one mechanical problem with it in 40k miles and 6 yrs. Plugs, tires, oil, coolant and filters is all it's cost to run. I still get compliments on it every ride. Best bike I've ever owned.
I totally agree with you Sean. If you're confident in your skills, get it. My bike is way too big for me, I'm 5'11" weigh 145 and ride a vtx1800r. Wanted a Vulcan 2000 but those are hard to find.
Very pretty blue color and lots of chrome- you can see this bike- most cage drivers can't see all blacked out bikes- therefor running over them even at stop lights. I can handle the big bikes but problem is I am short and need controls where I can CONTROL the bike properly. Not one manufacturer addresses this. That negates a custom built bike which could run 40-60 grand. I need a hot cruiser that doesn't scrape parts, can get with it from 80mph, and be comfortable for 500 miles a day. When I get on a bike I cruise at 70 to 85mph. Don't have time to dork around. Love the M109R LTD EDs. Just not in black. Great video.
Fitting a 190/55 rear tyre on mine was one of the best things I did for the handling, makes them way more flickable than a bike of their size has any right to be. Replace the standard shock too if you can.
Just bought myself a 2009 M90 paid 3600 for it. 34k miles and I love it. Aftermarket pipes and air cleaners. Yeah the tanks massive but after a few rides I don’t even notice it anymore.
I bought my M90 a year ago after watching this review. The M90 is EXACTLY as you described it. So glad I bought mine. That radiator shroud looks nice, I need one of those.
The C90 (C for cruiser) model has a different motor. The M for (Muscle) is an all together new 1500 motor in that year. Keep in mind, this bike borrows cues from the sport bike line. I have my 2009 bought NEW and it has been great, only my second bike ever. Thanks for the presentation.
Did y’all get this one from Oregon Pike Motors? I traded this exact year, model, and color to them in 2018 for my Harley. I think this is my old bike!!!
2nd video of yours I have watched. Love the words of wisdom. I've been wanting a motorcycle and never ridden before but aesthetically I've always wanted the M109r. But after watching your review on it I'm wondering if the m90 would be more ideal or if even that would be too much bike for a first time rider.
I’ve been watching your channel quite a bit lately both older and newer videos and you’ve covered everything from good pricing to bad bikes and I gotta tell ya man, I have a Harley ‘03 FXSTD and I didn’t know how unpopular it was when I bought it and it’s a load of money and custom work because almost no aftermarket parts for it lol but I love it still
Nice. Thanks for throwing Luke in there sometimes a reminder helps. Hey now I might want some old import cruiser to squeeze inbetween my 919 and SV650!
I bought the C109RT and it's a beastly powerhouse. But as Sean and others have stated, it is somewhat lacking in the handling department. I think eventually I'll go for something a bit more nimble but still powerful- possibly a Roadstar, Voyager, Concourse, etc...
2:00 to 2:30 and it gets probably barely 35 mpg. ( defeats the ENTIRE point of not driving a car). Screw that, 650cc or smaller engine for me is plenty even on the interstate while still getting 60+ mpg.
My sister owned a 1.3L Holden Barina aka Suzuki Swift, very ecenomical but squeezy- 46mpg (imperial). My 1.8L M109r is lighter, cuts less air and has much more power. It gets 60mpg on the same highway speeds. That's 5L/100km. A big motor with no load uses bugger all petrol.
This video turned me on to the Boulevard "M" series, and I got a 2009 M90, in the same color no less! Sweet ride, big step up from my V-Star 650 and just an all around fun time
Classic old-school cruiser. No unnecessary rider modes, cruise control, or ABS. I agree, the 200mm rear tire is not too wide, not too narrow. I got used to the clunky tranny on my 2009 M90. Still plenty fast. In 3rd you'll hit 85mph really quick with even a moderate pull. How often do you drag race on the street anyway?.. The better handling and lower price is why I prefer it to the M109R.
What’s the hardest bike to ride that you’ve ever been on? What would be a full-on “grey beard” for you? Just curious to hear since you’ve ridden so many different brands and ages.... Great videos! Keep it coming!
I appreciate you saying you were 6'2". To your point about sizes of riders and your reach to the bars, it would be GREAT if you would give info on your arm length (shirt size) and inseam size, and take side video of each bike with you holding the grips and feet on the controls. Also, if you (or your staff) could make measurements (like the magazines do) from the seat to the bar, and seat to foot controls, this would be very helpful. You probably would not want to give your measurements in very vid, but you cost post it as a link in each video. As, most guys are not 6-2, if you could film a guy from your shop 5'9" or 5'10" sitting on the bike and accessing the controls that would also be great. Happy Easter.
I have the 2013 M109R and it handles better than people think, if you know how to ride with a big rear tire. Prices for tires are about the same as a 180 to 200 rear... I would rather have the M109R at around 7k
P.S. Big fat tires are great as long as they are tall too. Tall meaning side wall height. Low pro tires do not ride comfortably and transfer all those bumps to your back. Your roads on this video are like glass smooth compared to ours out here. I am a fan of tall fat rubber on both ends of the bike. Been legally riding since 1969 and prefer the previous sentence.
How's the ergos of this bike compare to a Dyna? I'm 6'1" and found with even forward controls on the Dyna my legs were cramped on long rides. Tossin' around the idea of picking up one of these.
It's a very nice bike and a cool video as well man... Here in Brazil, Suzuki call "she" as Boulevard M1500. Recently a bought one year 2014, and I'm very happy to be able to finally get there!!! Just as a curiosity: It is much more affordable to have this type of motorcycle in the USA... well, in fact "Suzuki BRASIL" only produced the M1500 (M90) until 2014 and finished the production of the M1800 (M109) now in 2020. It is difficult to compare prices but this motocyle being sold in USA for approximately $ 6k, here in Brazil it would have a price of $ 12k. 🙄
You are the best sir. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We need more people like you. You saved me. Thank for taking the time to post. How can I get you some money? I owe you.
Had one, not one of my favourite. Gear shift clunky, no suspension travel,. Not a particularly refined bike. But would make a great 2nd bike if you just want to go out and put the hammer down.
Riding With Jon in fairness, the weight is held low and helps keep the ride plush and stable for distance riding. If you want to flick it through the bends then, as you suggest, a sportsbike is undeniably better.
coming from sport bike then sport tourer VFR800 I am looking to get comfy cruiser 109C ,Valkyrie or Vulcan 2000.At 55 my body wants to relax now but still have fun. Weight on most cruisers are carried low so does not effect handling.I've seen old laddies ride 900lb Goldwings...
I think the M90 looks cool, but being a smaller guy (about 5'7) I'd be hesitant to get one. At least based on the videos, haven't checked one out in person. Also, even online, M90s are kind of hard to find. I find a ton of C50/90s and M109s, but barely any M90s.
Thank you Sean and another great bike video. That was a very beautiful Suzuki you were on. If I was in the market for another bike that's what I would buy. But right now I'm on and 1100 Shadow Sabre. Thank you for the review keep them coming take care and be safe.
danny williams I put over 50,000 miles in 4 years on my 04 VT1100C. Loved the comfort. Never let me down. Super at 75 to 80 on the interstate. Traded in for a new Fury but I miss the shadow
@@taraxicumofficinale3538 I know right. I love my shadow. I've had a lot of motorcycles in my life but I'm really enjoying this one just got it last fall. I have my 2006 m109r and just love that bike I will never get rid of it because it would be one of those regrets. I'm planning to buy a challenger elite to ride every weekend, the m109 will be my project mod bike, I'm going to put every upgrade available possibly.
My girls are looking at changing over from street bikes to cruisers. She hasn’t been on a bike in a while and really wants to get a new one. I’m looking at getting either of the raider or a Harley breakout. But she does not want anything with the horsepower that those two have. I’m thinking this might be a good option for her. Get a nice and customized she might be happy.
I love how you talk about the bike . . . and give us no specs . . and then speculate the specs . . and then give us personal opinion . . and in the very next video . . "Why not to buy this bike"
Hey Sean, can you talk a little about how the bike is geared? I have been watching your videos for well over a year now and have seen ALL of your videos on Vulcans. In fact your videos inspired me to purchase one new, and I DO love my Bike...however, I'm not a fan at all of how it's geared. Your thoughts on THAT as well would be sincerely appreciated as well.
Thumbs down for continuously bashing my M109. If you're going to do a review on a bike, do a review on a bike. You love your girl bike. But I love my real mans bike. Stop bashing other bikes.
Hey man can you please help me? I bought the cobra swept exhaust like this bike but it doesn't have an 02 sensor hole/slot. I had to get an 02 eliminator. The performance feels worse now and I get a lot of popping from the exhaust. I cant get anyone to fabricate or weld a bung into the pipes. The pipes are not able to be returned. What do I do???
Look for a small welding or machine shop in your area. Take the stock and aftermarket pipes in to them. Should be a quick job to add an o2 bung to your new pipes.
Please guys do once a moto guzzi griso 1100. I just bought one as my first bike and i’m loving it! Like to see your thoughts on it. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Holland
been hell trying to find what I love at a price that works for me. Restored 70's bikes are a bit steep, and most unrestored are well in need of restoration.
i feel like we have the same build and it gives me confidence lol, just tried an m50 out for the first time and i fell in love!e 135lbs without a helmet btw
Just got brand spankin new 19 m90 $8k The luggage rack, if you can find it I'd $420, the backrest nearly $300 That's OEM windshield at least $500, national cycle windshield $200 Engine guard at least $300 And yes they are fast enough to loss your license
It may be a great bike but it's God awful ugly. I saw an article that said it looked like a washing machine or some other kitchen appliance. But a vrod. Much better looking
YOU'RE A NUT! LOVE THE GLOVES, THE RIDE, YOUR VALUATION OF SUCH A POWERFUL AND COOL MACHINE - Thanks for the review - you have the whole package and you don't bore with too long a review and filled with whiney, stupid non-sense which alot of reviewers seem to stick in to be cool or whatever it is they think they're doing - Keep up the great work - oh, and yeah, cool very cool gloves
I actually like the way the 90 rides a little better than the 109, it feels more part of me, and not something I'm just sitting on...if that makes sense. The performance is there, I mean it's no Vmax, or sportsbike, but it's something better in ways, it's just a very good experience, especially out in the open where there's rarely any traffic!
I have a 2002 Kawi Meanstreak and this looks so much alike...where these 2 companies in cahoots in any ways, or just classic imitation of the current market at the time?

The performance feels worse now and I get a lot of popping from the exhaust. I cant get anyone to fabricate or weld a bung into the pipes. The pipes are not able to be returned. What do I do???
Look for a small welding or machine shop in your area. Take the stock and aftermarket pipes in to them. Should be a quick job to add an o2 bung to your new pipes.
Happy Easter guys! Love the vids
Please guys do once a moto guzzi griso 1100. I just bought one as my first bike and i’m loving it! Like to see your thoughts on it. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Holland
Watched it twice! Keep em coming
is this bike good for 5'6?
I'm 5'7 and love it👍🏻
C109 still has a 240 tire. Yes it’s a 16” instead of an 18”, but it’s still just as wide. So your skinnier tire statement is invalid
I bought my first bike a few months ago a 2013 M90. I love it!
Lovely tank and blue
Happy Easter 🐣
been hell trying to find what I love at a price that works for me. Restored 70's bikes are a bit steep, and most unrestored are well in need of restoration.
Just get a modern classic, a newer bike that looks classic. Tons for great prices out there.
i feel like we have the same build and it gives me confidence lol, just tried an m50 out for the first time and i fell in love!e 135lbs without a helmet btw
You da best Sean. Thank you
What you guys think of the 2004 Marauder? It’s been called the M95.
Hi, I realy enjoy your videos, but I haven't seen one about C109 I'm interesting in that bike.
Just got brand spankin new 19 m90 $8k
The luggage rack, if you can find it I'd $420, the backrest nearly $300
That's OEM windshield at least $500, national cycle windshield $200
Engine guard at least $300
And yes they are fast enough to loss your license
I like the gloves. Do they have to come with the white tag? That kind of ruins the look for me.
Srkcycles are you Catholic? I am Catholic and was just wondering? God bless bro have a great time riding those bikes!!!!
its a cult, dont walk, RUN away as fast as you can !
He is risen. Keep on riding brother.
It may be a great bike but it's God awful ugly. I saw an article that said it looked like a washing machine or some other kitchen appliance. But a vrod. Much better looking
Once you go the 09.... there’s no going back. The M90 2009 was my first and loved it ... but the 109 😁😁
Is it a good bike for beginner ?
How do you take the air filter off of the M90
Neat. I'm a medium-sized dude (5'10" 175lbs). I bet I could ride something like this, especially since I've been riding for about 6 years now.
I'm 5'8" and ride an M90. Love It!
Bike sounds awesome!
After watching this video I purchased one 2019 m90 love this motorcycle 💯💯
You are wrong about the tire size of the C109R because its a 240 width as well as the M109R
Nice engine. But all these types of bikes are too heavy. Check out the weight of the 1670 cc MT-01. Good video and happy Easter to you all.
love the videos bro
Love your review and commentary. But I really wish you would ride it a bit harder. Like really get on it and take some curvy roads.
Jacob Lacy he usually does but this bike is already sold.
@@jeremysgarage498 LOL yea, the new owner would be like "WTF are you doooooooooooing?"
The look of those pipes tho
Do anyone know where I can find an engine guard that will fit a 2019 M90?
I bought the 09 m90 in red and love it. The best bike i have owned so far
Great looking bike but I've been a huge fan of the Yamaha Warrior....can't find a used one anywhere.........................................
I have a 2002 Kawi Meanstreak and this looks so much alike...where these 2 companies in cahoots in any ways, or just classic imitation of the current market at the time?
Got a 03 meanie
Kawasaki and Suzuki have made a few motorcycles together. Look up the Suzuki Marauder 1600. It's the meanstreak with some minor cosmetic differences
@@chadweber7126 i love my Kawasaki meansterke 1500 2003
"The only gloves that will stop bullets when people are shooting bullets at you"... Happy Easter
Do the C90 bags fit the M90?
What part of PA are you riding in? Looks like the area i moved away from.
Do the buyers who buy the bikes you review know you ride them and they're ok with it?
Often the models that are used for reviews get a discount
why not, it's not their bike yet:)
