You know when Justin and the crew took over for David and Danny a lot of people thought this series was going to get worse. But these great ideas and the personality of you guys getting more and more vibrant through each episode have really made this series your own. I pray Danny gets better and makes a return and hope David is enjoying his time away from SCG but I am fully enjoying these episodes just as much as the hayday of the earlier episodes.
+Spenzerr Gaming I would love to see danny again as an occasional guest/5th player. His humor was always the best and though i love these guys, they need more elesh norn
Hey guys! Here come some suggestion for future themes: - Commanders with CMC 1 (Isamaru, Hound of Konda, Norin the Wary, Rhys, so on)! - Colorless commanders! - Five-color commanders! Cya!
00:08:35 - I was so stoked when Stephen got rebels. Lin Sivvi is one of my old school faves. Mono white with a completely outdated creature type is hard to win with, but you just gotta run bomb artifacts, ramp your mana like crazy, lock down the board with Deafening Silence, Eidolon of Rhetoric, Ghostly Prison, Worship, Sphere of Safety etc and then piece together a voltron rebel like Jhovall Queen or Cho-Manno or an infinite life win with Task Force & Aetherflux / Test of Endurance/ Felidar Sovereign.
+Ambiguity you mean he builds absolutely broken decks against players who are obviously in it to have fun entertaining matches? Yea soo interesting I hate my deck so much that I just die as fast as I can cause *unfun*
James Joseph His decks aren't broken, nobody wants to bite the bullet and focus him in the early game when he's weak. Though I will admit the infinite was a dick move to have in a deck.
+Ambiguity Dude, that's absolutely not true. Look at ALL of his decks since he's started playing with them. There all cookie cutter, generic, meta decks that are just filled with good stuff. There is no theme, There is no creativity. He's just taking the best cards in the colors and throwing them into a deck. And that's fine if you want to play magic that way. But when you're trying to be entertaining, you don't want to do the same thing every time. The other members seem to understand this, just Suarez seems to like kicking puppies.
I'm gonna be honest, I was for a long time hesitant when West and McDarby handed the series over to you guys, but I am actually starting to have serious fun watching you guys play. Hopefully another season is on its way?
Great video guys! I can't wait for this weeks video. I want to make a request for a future commander game..........I would like to see more two on two. But I want to see Justin and Stephen on a team v.s Wes and Jon. I think it would a very good game. Jon and Wes seem to go at it a little while they play. so I think playing them on the same team could be fun to watch. Make the Theme of the commander decks be something that makes team work a must. Make each teams decks have to have something to do with each other. Like one team has a elf deck that puts out wolf tokens and the other partner have a wolf deck that put out elves or each deck buffs each other...Idk but i'm sure you guys could make it work. Keep up the good videos!
I love this series, its just funny watching these guys. Stephen Green has my favorite deck flavors. they should do an other two headed giant, rainbow vs colorless!!
Always love these videos, everyone has there niches and all that fun stuff. Always have been curious on why Wes loses and why John wins though. Neither were true this time buts still. Haha keep the lovely videos going, and also we need 4 player normal videos as well.
i dont like loosing points for searching the library that easy in that format. This rule is okay as long as you know your deck, but, when somebody else did build it, this is just unfair, because getting your own decks, gives you a much better position. but a cool idea, which i am also going to do with my edh group :) thanks for the idea and the cool video :)
So i just want to point out Stephen could have attacked with the giant Rebel with 27000 toughness and done 27000 dmg because Doran is global. Also rather unluckily if justin had chord of calling for 3 he could have eternal witness'd back is swords to live.
Is there a rule list for this? Like a pdf or something we could download so that we can do this at home? I'm referring to the point system and leader board thing
at 37:30 Mogis should have come back into play. Because Banisher Priest tracks through one zone and a replacement effect was used to put Mogis in the command zone it never changed zones so when Banisher Priest died, Mogis should have come back into play.
what are all those points you talk about in the beginning? some kind of bonuses for doing certain things during the game? and how do they affect the game?
Supervillain royal rumble planechase is even worse, but is AWESOME. For those who don't know, SVRRP is commander decks, planechase, and everyone has an archenemy scheme deck :P
Generals that would be exiled may be moved to the command zone. However, the ruled committee created the rule so that temporary exile effects "like Banishing Light" will return the general to the battlefield for free. in this case, Wes could have let Mogis go to the command zone, tried to kill the banisher priest to return mogis, and still be able to cast mogis later
I feel like the 30-second-search rule, in decks that they didn't make is mighty unfair. Just for this and next videos, I think that the rule shouldn't be applied to people playing decks they didn't make, since they don't know what's in their decks to the same degree as normal.
Paused at the 5 minute mark out of sheer excitement....as much as i love pheldaggrif i hate him equally as much...because if you have a voltron or plain aggro commander deck you can't do anything to anyone xD It's one of the few love/hate commanders for me for only one reason....he can extend the game for so bloody long it kills all the fun of it xD
+StarCityGames, since Wes likes Blue, do you mind if I send you a list for him to play? It's a very consistent deck that feels like the Azami vs. Azusa duel before. But even better.
You guys should do pauper commander or something like that:D I think it would make the power level a lot lower and make the deck building much more challenging.
I personally agree with the majority's hate on suarez and his utter spikiness. But I feel like the series benefits from having one spike as the semiantagonist, if nothing else for oppurtinities and moments like these.
Am I missing something or when Stephen takes damage from Mogis (after the redirect died) is he not taking general damage on top of his life total damage? Could Wes have not killed him through the general damage regardless of his infinite life?
I don't know if anyone cares but spoiler alert: Suarez should have used Weird harvest early to a) get selvala to counteract the life loss and b) make everyone lose points due to taking too long searching for cards and c) get something like Swans of Bryn Argoll to prevent taking damage from other creatures, I know they are playing with decks they don't know so it's completely understandable, it's just funny because that deck is so similar to my phelddagrif deck I'm half wondering if they used it but added expensive cards Kinda wish he didn't die so early though, phelddagrif gets crazy later on
Wow! Two Commander decks I actually have! Phelddagrif and Mogis. The Phelddagrif deck looked extremely similar to mine, but the Mogis deck was missing a ton of Mogis staple cards. Though, most of them are dick cards that ruins games so I can understand why they're left out. Speaking of ruining games though, please don't do infinite-anything combos in decks.
There is 1 thing I don't understand. How did Stephen have the damage to redirect to gain all that life? In order to have the loop, doesn't he need an infinite amount of damage coming his way? What card allowed for that? Also, great video. Thank you in advance to whomever points out what I missed.
+ieojembola Task force gets +0/+3 every time it is targeted. Outrider en-Kors ability is activated bunch of times targeting Task force. Task force is sacrificed to Miren to gain life equal to its toughness. It doesn't require taking damage to activate the Outriders ability, it can still be activated - but it doesn't actually do anything other than target a creature. It's just that Task force gets +3 toughness every time it is targeted.
Phelddagrif abilitis only give life and cards upon resolution rigth? i think jon can activate how many times he want but since the creature will return to his hand at the first time the other abilitis will be countered due to as state base actions check, there's no creature to return, am i right?
i think one of you, wes wise or justin parnell preferred, should play Kruphix, God of Insight, with a whole lot of mana rocks and X casting cost spells.
I can't be the only one who was super fed up with Suarez by about halfway through the video. He's usually sort of insufferable, but here it was unreal.
In case this wasn't clear, we all love the editor and all of the things he adds.
You know when Justin and the crew took over for David and Danny a lot of people thought this series was going to get worse. But these great ideas and the personality of you guys getting more and more vibrant through each episode have really made this series your own. The picture of Parnell as King Arthur and Suarez as the Black Knight @ 1:08:05 was brilliant!
I really appriciate all the time and effort you guys put into these video's! It really shows and i really enjoy watching them. Keep up the great work!
12 minutes in and this is already the best commander versus video ive seen to date
I think the 30 second penalty shouldn't be in effect for decks you've never seen before...
Agree especially when they given a deck made specifically to exploit that
just wanted to leave a comment saying I love your commander series, please don't stop doing it!
This is an awesome Versus-Series! You can really see how much fun Wes had when Suarez opened the Phelddagrif :D Go Wes, climb the ladder!! ;)
Archenemy with the Director as the archenemy.
+Era al'Thor YES
Was a great game to watch guys :) I nearly believed towards the end that Wes might get there haha.
I'm loving all the new stuff this series is doing
The best part of this video was seeing how miserable Suarez was playing one of my favorite commanders ever. Awesome video!
Hey guys!
Here come some suggestion for future themes:
- Commanders with CMC 1 (Isamaru, Hound of Konda, Norin the Wary, Rhys, so on)!
- Colorless commanders!
- Five-color commanders!
Cya!
Suarez's new knickname should be Saltez. So salty about group hug.
Just look at Wes's face when he heard that his red black deck dosen't have any creatures in it :D
I love how he had a "Search for a Swamp" card, and Stephen says "oh by the way there's no Swamps in the deck"
Gearframe25 And that's his "good" deck :D we'll see the stinger next week.Btw i love gadgets.
really great vid this week! really enjoyed it, thanks for making such great content!
I want this playgroup, nobody going for quick winds, everybody just trying to have fun. That's what makes commander fun ^.^
00:08:35 - I was so stoked when Stephen got rebels. Lin Sivvi is one of my old school faves. Even when he doesn't win, he still technically wins. John Suarez is the most interesting man in the world.

#teamwes he is so happy and is not one of those really grumpy and competitive players. He embodies everything I love bout mtg😀😄😃
Great video guys! I can't wait for this weeks video. I want to make a request for a future commander game..........I would like to see more two on two. 21,22,there's a temple of the false god in here...best quote of ANY commander game!!
You guys should do a sliver battle featuring the four sliver legends
+cj rauenbuehler You beat me to it.
Oh Mylanta, the misplays and all-day attack phases that would ensue. Yeah, I second that vote. SLIVER ME TIMBERS, BOYS!
I third that vote
But whoever gets overlord as their general wins cause they gain control of all other generals
Great match! Shows that you can have many kinds of decks in commander. :)
Great vid, really looking forward to next week!! Come on Wes, you can do it!!!!
I love this series, its just funny watching these guys. Stephen Green has my favorite deck flavors. they should do an other two headed giant, rainbow vs colorless!!
awesome game! I was hoping Wes would get it. I just wish I saw the deck lists. I click the decklist link and I don't see any lists lol
+sparktoad (Choi) If you check below the video, there's a "Show Decklist" button that'll reveal them for you.
+Star City Games thanks! I didn't see that button the first time.
Always love these videos, everyone has there niches and all that fun stuff. Always have been curious on why Wes loses and why John wins though. Neither were true this time buts still. Haha keep the lovely videos going, and also we need 4 player normal videos as well.

but a cool idea, which i am also going to do with my edh group :) thanks for the idea and the cool video :)
10:05 priceless reaction!
wes's face @ 10:14 #priceless LOLOLOL
So i just want to point out Stephen could have attacked with the giant Rebel with 27000 toughness and done 27000 dmg because Doran is global. Also rather unluckily if justin had chord of calling for 3 he could have eternal witness'd back is swords to live.
daww when i saw all these ??? i tought they would spoil the new 2015 commander sets. but this is fun too!
also... goooooooooooooooooo Wes!
Was really looking forward to watching Suarez play pheldagriff as well ):
commander at Atlanta, the Commander Revolution is going strong!
can we get the decklists for this weeks video?
+Luis Varela (Choi) You can check out the decklists in the description below the video!
+Star City Games it is not under the description, I dont see the link to them
+Luis Varela (Choi) Here you go! www.starcitygames.com/article/31729_Commander-VS-Four-Player-Mystery-Surprise.html
+Star City Games im really sorry but there is only the video in the link, its that mogis deck is really cool and I would like to see that list
+Luis Varela (Choi) There's a button below the video in the article that says "Show Decklists" to view the decklists.
Favorite episode so far. cant wait until nest week!!! Get job guys well played. :D
I wish Stephen swung with the 1/27003 at Wes while the Doran was out.
Hey, how would one find those clear deck boxes you are holding your decks in at the beginning of the show?
I like the random commanders idea. 👍👍👍
The editor is my hero
that face 10:08
what are all those points you talk about in the beginning? some kind of bonuses for doing certain things during the game? and how do they affect the game?
Editor the real MVP!
Guys please do planechase Commander again that was madness.
+synthetic legion Yeah, if we have 10 hours. Planechase Commander is horrible.
+Celine Turner WE CAN DREAM
Supervillain royal rumble planechase is even worse, but is AWESOME. For those who don't know, SVRRP is commander decks, planechase, and everyone has an archenemy scheme deck :P
Editor having fun, I Like that :p
I actually do this in my EDH group sometimes. We call it "EDH and/or Commander Potluck"
I love Wes. Go team Wes!
1:03:20 why did Justin draw 2? The Howling Mine was gone already
Phyrexian arena
The deck sleeves don't add up to the corresponding play mat of the builder of the deck. Conspiracy to beat Suarez?
Generals that would be exiled may be moved to the command zone. However, the ruled committee created the rule so that temporary exile effects "like Banishing Light" will return the general to the battlefield for free. in this case, Wes could have let Mogis go to the command zone, tried to kill the banisher priest to return mogis, and still be able to cast mogis later

I'd like to see Skullbriar in these some day, if it hasn't been there already. I built that deck, and it's honestly one of my favorite decks.

Alabama Man playing Rebels. That's a flavor win.
I can't find that mogis deck list anywhere. can anyone post a link please?
I hope one of the remaining decks is Relentless Rats or Shadowborn Apostles.
Is there some place I can find a list of the point system?
are you guys going to do the 2015 precon decks before the season is over?
I wonder what it would be like if McDarby was still here for this sort of thing.
+Miagolio Maxwell It would have been better
I beg that you guys do a video/videos featuring the Ravnica Guild leaders!
keep it up guys loving all the edh
Am I missing something or when Stephen takes damage from Mogis (after the redirect died) is he not taking general damage on top of his life total damage? Could Wes have not killed him through the general damage regardless of his infinite life?

Kinda wish he didn't die so early though, phelddagrif gets crazy later on
where was the Havoc Festival + Wound Reflection combo?
What commander point system is being used?
I would like to see Stephen play horde of notions! He can still play omnath and abuse his lightning bolt abilities more
This was a great idea!
The decklist link does not show any deck lists
21:10 wes had the quickest last week
Please guys, do Planechase Commander game one more time! :D
I think it would be cool to watch you guys use planechase in future games.
Does Standstill not counter the spell that pops it? Jonathan should have lived if it does.
can we please get the decklists? or do we need to wait until next week?
+PaladinOfHope (Choi) You can check out the decklists in the description below the video!
+Star City Games Thanks!
Mogis was a creature when Day was cast yeah? Or was it a mistake on my part?
+Ray Rack he's indestructable
oh yeah. my bad hahahha. thanks.
ayyy no problem
There is 1 thing I don't understand. How did Stephen have the damage to redirect to gain all that life? In order to have the loop, doesn't he need an infinite amount of damage coming his way? What card allowed for that?
Also, great video. Thank you in advance to whomever points out what I missed.
+ieojembola The ability doesn't require damage, it's setting up a future redirection.
Timothy Mc Huh? So he got infinite life from the future damage he was going to take? How does that work?
+ieojembola Task force gets +0/+3 every time it is targeted.
Outrider en-Kors ability is activated bunch of times targeting Task force.
Task force is sacrificed to Miren to gain life equal to its toughness.
It doesn't require taking damage to activate the Outriders ability, it can still be activated - but it doesn't actually do anything other than target a creature. It's just that Task force gets +3 toughness every time it is targeted.
Demonist1 Ohhhhhhhhhhhh!! Now I get it. Simply the act of targeting, oh my gosh. Wow, ok. Thank you so much :D
best one yet! can't wait til next week!
BTW whatever happened to McDarby?
McDarby left SCG to follow other desires
Are their cards double sleeved?
You keep talking about the director. You should have him say hello on camera sometime :)
Something about Suarez just rubs me the wrong way. Not sure what it is.
+JxC He's a dick.
Don't know the deck was a realy good idea. I hope they'll be some over video like this in the next season :)
Did anyone else notice Parnell rolled a one and not a seven? 3:20
I believe in you Wes! Try Glissa the Traitor!
Phelddagrif abilitis only give life and cards upon resolution rigth? i think jon can activate how many times he want but since the creature will return to his hand at the first time the other abilitis will be countered due to as state base actions check, there's no creature to return, am i right?
the target may still draw cards as the ability resolve, they just have nothing to bounce
but since the ability says that you HAVE to bounce, it's not optional, wouldn't be countered because it has no legal targets?
+Vinícius Santos de Oliveira It's not a target.
+Vinícius Santos de Oliveira Therefore, legal.
I think I've figured out Wes's handicap: he doesn't have a beard!
Sometimes you forget about mogis triggers when playing him
i think one of you, wes wise or justin parnell preferred, should play Kruphix, God of Insight, with a whole lot of mana rocks and X casting cost spells.
How come the red black enchantment deck only have 98 cards?
Stephen Green with the tribe called quest reference
Mono Brown definitely needs some love.
best v.s video ever
I can't be the only one who was super fed up with Suarez by about halfway through the video. He's usually sort of insufferable, but here it was unreal.
