Question for you Lukas. I have a 91 Z28 with the 5.7. Original owner. I had my speedometer & odometer go dead on me last spring. Was driving, saw a light white smoke & burning smell coming from cluster. I removed the circuit board, saw a bunch of resistors burnt. I sent it off to West Coast Auto Parts. They will repair & test them. My issue is after getting it back & installed its not accurate. Its roughly 10mph off (to low). Of course I called explaining my issue & the dude said to take it where they can do some kind of test on it. Ya right! Nobody diagnoses anything anymore, they just wanna throw parts at it. He told me they tested it & of course it was fine, but wasn't like we tested it for 10 minutes. Those where his words. So Lukas, any suggestions? Could it be something you can fix? I'd love to send it to you if your willing. T hanks for your time & your video's. 👍
Hi Ron. It's possible they installed the incorrect resistor/capacitor values on the board. I would pull it out and compare it to the values mentioned on this forum post www.thirdgen.org/forums/electronics/658080-1990-1991-1992-camaro.html
Hi there, if your speedo works but the odometer doesn't increment one of the odo gears has probably failed. This video has a good explanation m.ua-cam.com/video/Np2aTiQ-BBQ/v-deo.html
Dude, if you own a third gen camaro you're going to have problems. I own two of them and both are nothing but headaches and heartaches. My 91 rs camaro hasn't run in over a year no matter what I do to it and my 86 Z28 305 TPI runs when it wants to but only when it wants to. It will run fine one day and the next day it won't run at all. Drives me crazy
Ditch the injection for an economy Edelbrock carb, swap the distributor to an HEI, delete all unnecessary vacuum lines. Doing those 3 things alone will make them run purely mechanically with no problems. At that point you will have no fuel, ignition, sensor / computer related issues and will be good to go.
Thnx for the video. Out of nowhere, the odometer and fuel gauge just stopped working. Fuel shows 120% full, and odometer stopped.

@@NotEnoughProjects Thanks so much Lukas! I'll check it out & go from there.
I have a 89 Camaro that has a problem with the tach would you fix it ?
I haven't really done any mail in repair or that kind of thing, but the repair is very doable even with a cheap soldering iron setup
Would you work on other instrument clusters? My odo isn’t working, same car.

Where are you located? I have a 91 Z28 that needs the same work and a little more.
Hi, I'm in southwestern idaho
Does the black headlight switch pull off or twist off thanks
It pulls off. There is a spring clip that digs into the shaft to prevent it from coming off

Agree! Luckily this one wasn't mine, just doing work on it. Hope you get your issues figured out
@@NotEnoughProjects Thanks. I do too
I love my camaros but they're a pain in the ass right now

@@UsefulEntertainmentyup mine has a distributor problem! Probably the control module bc it stalls whenever it wants to!
