- CCF Digestive Herbal Tea Recipe, servings 8
Ingredients:
• 1 tablespoon whole coriander seeds
• 1 tablespoon whole cumin seeds
• 1 tablespoon whole fennel seeds
• 1 quart filtered water
1. Into a medium-sized pot add the whole seeds and water. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Strain. Once cooled store in the fridge.
Note: Most times, I let the spices sit in the water until the end of the day, then strain and store in the fridge. This makes for a nice strong brew. You can reuse the spices to make a weaker yet still very tasty tea.
CCF Digestive Tea is tridoshic and supports to balance both vata, pitta and kapha
How to use:
• To enkindle agni or digestive fire, drink ½ cup warm tea after meals
• To support general digestion, drink 1 cup in between meals
Drinking a lot of fluids with meals takes away from our digestive capacity. It is okay to sip room temperature fluids with meals, thou, cold especially iced drinks impairs digestion.
Coriander - cooling, bitter and pungent with a sweet vipaka or post digestive effect. It is tridoshic. It can reduce fever and is diuretic.
Cumin - cooling, bitter and pungent, an aromatic seed that can be used by all doshas. Cumin is a staple in Ayurvedic cooking because of its distinctive taste and wonderful medicinal qualities. Cumin kindles agni and improves absorption of minerals in the intestines and helps relieve gas.
Fennel - cooling, sweet and astringent with a sweet vipaka or post-digestive effect. Fennel calms all three doshas. It acts as a digestive aid and as a diuretic. It helps to get rid of intestinal worms and can relieve hemorrhoids. In Indian restaurants, fennel seeds and natural sugar are chewed after meals to support digestion.

If we want to drink after meales, how long is good to wait?
This tea can be sipped with your meals, or wait 1 hr after to drink a full cup.
@@LalaNaidu okay thank you. So this is better for digestion than between meals?
@@YT-NS No, either way, is good for digestion. Note that you are only sipping the tea while eating. If this is getting too confusing, just stick with 1 hour away from meals. I hope that helps
I love this tea. My dog has been having digestive issues. I wonder if it would safe for him?
Namaste dear ~ I'm glad you enjoy the tea, me too. I also serve it to clients after treatments. I don't see why you couldn't use it with your dog, but I wonder if there are other approaches that are more effective? Some ideas...addressing diet, source of water, stress, I know they make Rescue Remedy for pets. Sending tummy soothing vibes ~
Thank you ❤️ ..can I consume this tea in the morning in empty stomach ? Please let me know .. thank you 😀
Namaste dear ~ yes, you can certainly do that. If you have a tendency for constipation you can add some ginger root and cardamom too. In addition, you can drink 3-4 cups per day. Many blessings ~
@@LalaNaidu hey.. namaste 🙏 thank you so much for your quick reply ❤️❤️😀....stay blessed ❤️❤️
