They take 15 days to shoot and they hire a washed up movie star to work for 1 day as the judge, or scientist or whatever and put him on the cover. The writing, shooting etc is hilariously awful and it's where creativity goes to die. But the wine and cat lady market demands it so we crank em out

I got in as a "gopher" which is a guy who drives around and gets coffee or food for the editing department AKA the company bitch lol. My gf at the time worked at the studio (so it really is who you know). After 6 months of gophering and if you show interest in the software and workflow, they'll train you while getting paid. I'm a pilot now as video editing is tedious work and insanely boring.
