- New Baitcasting Reel for 2021 !! Oakster and I fished a couple days ago and a tried and true reel went to Fishing Heaven.
Been a while since I bought a new baitcasting reel. I love Lew's Speed Spools and I took the dive and invested in my first expensive baitcasting reel. The choice new baitcasting reel was the Lew's Tournament MP Speed Spool LFS Series.

I’m a lefty and use a right hand retrieve. My left arm is stronger so I use it for my rod support hand.
Why don't you use a left-hand retrieve reel? That way you don't have to switch hands after every cast plus you can impart action on your lure more easily with your right hand/arm. My spinning and baitcaster reels are both LH retrieve, makes things a lot easier
same here, i can rapidfire plug and burn all day with left hand retrieve, no switching hands needed. no adjusting cast arm when switching from spinning to baitcast. i have this reel in left hand, love it.
I like my bait casters right hand and my spinning left handed I'm just messed up

I have the year older I don't know if it's the same I'm like that guy I have all there upper end reels no problem this one is a pain in the kester lol
I have one of these reels and I love it I have mine on a Duckett triad tho but that reel has a 3rd breaking system on it.. it has the centrifugal breaks on the inside you have to pop the cap off the left side they are turned off out of the box but depending on the lure and weight you are throwing it can really improve your distance and quality in your cast if you get that one dialed in as well with the other two breaking systems but great video 👍🏻 (disregard my spelling if I miss spelled anything lol I’m sure I did)

Just found the channel and enjoying the videos. I just moved to Delaware last year in the Frederica, Felton, Milford area. Have never fresh water fished before and interested. Would need a setup so without going crazy how do I jump in but more where to go? Thanks boss. Keep up the great vids
I can’t dial in my tournament mp for the life of me. I set my spool just tight enough to where there’s no side to side play and the rest with the braking and I either can’t get the distance I want or I always always get a tiny loop. The loop is so small it doesn’t effect anything but it’s always there. Maybe it’s cause I’m using braid? Idk but man I just can’t seem to get it dialed in like my other reels. Maybe I need to do the old “loosen the tension til the bait slowly falls” method 🤔 or just run mono. The dual magnetic and centrifugal system always just seems too much of either side. Not the distance I want or the distance I want but the spool fluffing up too much. Love the feel and everything else about it though. Maybe I’ll upgrade to the tournament pro with the ACB system.

Just a Heads up... IF you want a Warranty Card and or an Owners Manual , and or the bottle of Oil which comes with these Reels .. do NOT ORDER FROM AMAZON... I have now received 2 reels in a Row , both Missing Warranty Card, and any sort of owners manual whatsoever .. I returned the first one .. not sure what I am doing now . but I will NEVER order there Reels from Amazon again . Part Lewes Fault however ..since they do not Seal their boxes .. this last one only had the reel Upside down in the box , and nothing else ..

Just came across your channel and subscribed. I'm seriously considering getting myself a baitcaster. I had a spincaster when I was a kid about a million years ago lol. I currently have 3 spinning combos ATM. I also have a Lew's Hank Parker 7' mh that I want to put my first baitcaster on. Is this a good baitcaster to get if I'm just starting out with or would you recommend something else?Also, who is the oakster? Thanks!

Does anyone have any tips, I’ve had this three for a couple years and it don’t fast like it used to I tied on heavy lures turned off brakes and the spool speed don’t even cast 15 yards ?
Learn how to service the reel. It sounds like it needs re-lubing.

Why does everyone who has Lews'er reels talk about how it lasted a couple years ??? I have Shimano reels that are 10 plus years old and still work perfect . IMO its department store gear ,face it ! Every year they come out with a new color or stripe or some other gimmick thing to sell their reels ,,,,Great gear makes our days on the water so much more enjoyable !!!

In my opinion, you're fine using Shimano gear as long as you don't need to need anything under warranty!
Reel has been treating me well...it's my workhorse
Been fishing Lews for the last 9 years. Love em. No issues. Just regular rinse off salt and oil. I have maybe 12 Lews reels. A few penns for the beach and several shimano Stradics.
