I love how all the videos of people going to North Korea are like “OMG we can’t do anything, everybody is looking at us, the guides are spying on us, omg”
Whereas these Chinese tourists can ask the most casual questions they want! The atmosphere is so different
That's probably because China will fuck the case of North Korea if anything happens to Chinese tourists.
Because Western people usually have a prejudiced point of view on NK, sometimes intentionally or unintentionally challenge the status quo.
While Chinese people are either being just curious or nostalgic about N. They usually feel remotely connected, and are able to show their understanding of the situation.
Dude, china and NK are close allies
@@ikkeman7920 It's hard to tell. Politically actually China hates NK because of the nuclear initiative, and other factors similar to why Russia hates most post-Soviet countries. But yeah, China needs the NK as a shield or the US, and SK can easily land on the border, which China would hate more.
But it's just the overall political atmosphere, Chinese people neither love nor hate NK people, but sometimes they feel connected to NK people because of historical ideology stuff.
@Пруфы Есть? Thanks for pointing this out. I guess I'm not very familiar with Russian politics, it's always good to know people don't actually hate each other in reality.
I got this information from this video: ua-cam.com/video/06ebiTLENWo/v-deo.html , although he's answering other people's questions, and referring to those mid-age people stereotype who always hate the western world. Maybe there are very few of them and other people are just fine.
This reminds me of 1980 when I was a graduate from a tourism college in Beijing and taking internship with a state-run travel agency. I was doing exactly same job as the Korean girl is except that my clients were from Japan, a country that was then much richer than China. Being a tour guide for foreigners then was a well paid and respected job. I led groups of Japanese tourists around big hotels, restaurants and sightseeing spots in Beijing, being asked the same questions by my Japanese clients as those Chinese tourists did to the Korean tour guide. Beijing in 1980 was also as clean and simple as today's Pyongyang, and Japanese tourists were surprised and impressed how clean the streets and how friendly the local people were. They took photos everywhere using cameras I had never seen. On the other hand, average local people were not allowed to enter the foreigner oriented hotels, shops and other places. As a tour guide was a rare person who can directly communicate with foreigners, we had privileges to shop products not available to local people, eat food local people can't afford, and get tips sometimes more than our monthly salary. But now, my country has had such an astonishing change that there is no longer foreigner oriented spot existing and most average Chinese people can enjoy overseas trips and buy anything they want. What an amazing difference to China in the past 30 years!! I'm lucky and proud of being a Chinese when I see those North Korean people are repeating my past life.
I hope the North Koreans people will get the same opportunity like the Chinese did.
Wow

@@toaiguongjin2604 idiot,looser
It is pretty smart. Since North Korea always has to face sanctions and doesn't trade much, they have to make money however they can. I think they should open up more tourism to western countries, which would bring in BIG BUCKS. They also export labor to other countries so they can send the money back, which i think is also pretty smart as well.
Do you have any idea the conditions the North Korean laborers in for instance Russia face? I wouldn't be so quick to glorify that.
China has been North Korea’s sugar daddy not only since the 1950s but historically for several centuries as various ancient kingdoms of Korea were considered vassal states of China. Nothing surprising here when you see North Korea befriending Chinese tourism. As China continues to become wealthier every year and North Korea not gaining any wealth every year, you’ll continue to see Pyongyang less looking like a city of Korean culture and more like a city of Chinese culture. If only North Korea adopted China’s and Russia’s model of embracing capitalism … the wealth disparity between North Korea and China would not be so large. How embarrassing is it for Pyongyang to only have tourists coming from one place, China, while the norm of the rest of the world’s capitals like Paris, Rome, Berlin, London, have tourists coming from a diverse number of countries.
sooooo refreshing to see this genuine representation of the DPRK. Absolutely nothing like the fearmongering nonsense western media peddles all the time. I want to visit one day!
Oh yeah, all those people fleeing north korea to south korea are also just "fearmongers" Get real. Dont fall for face level bullshit. Any country could show off their capital and ONLY their capital to try and show people "what ever you thought about us is wrong!" Also a reminder that when you look at north korea from space at night, all the lights practically come from this one city alone.
@@FrostbitexP Still doesn't change the fact that the image of NK people get through western media is at least partly distorted. Yes, the country is poor, but that is partly the fault of sanctions imposed by the West. If North Korea wasn't a regime they wouldn't even exist as a country. Not to mention that most Koreans of the North love their Glorious Leader and Country!

The fact that people are imprisoned within the borders of “their” own country, can’t openly communicate with tourists, are locked away from even the internet to the rest of the world speaks all the volumes anyone needs to ever hear. How can anyone justify this?
The people are not imprisoned lmao, they are allowed to leave under the approval of the government. North Korea is not your local market when you can leave and enter whenever and for whatever reason you want. It has borders and rules it enforces to protect its sovereignty. There's a reason North Korea is the hardest country for foreign governments to send spy in.
The people can openly communicate with tourists , most dont wannt to though as they mostly do not know second language.
The Internet information space is dominated by anti dprk content, there's no way North Korean gov can fight and win against western propaganda machine with its big pocket and high level of expertise. The internet itself is a western project and serves no use to North Korea. You shouldnt fight the battle you cant win.The Intranet is way more appropriate for North Korea as it gives The internet's purpose without any risks and harms.

I don't think so. China was never that clean back into the 80s. And there was no government distributing houses, with such a good barbecue
@@liangyige5759 Although Back In The Days China May Not Be As Clean As North Korea. But I Think What He Means Is The Buildings Style And The City's Layout. Look At The Subway And The Tram. I Don't Think You Can Find Old Trams And Trains like This On Chinese Railroads Right???
@@liangyige5759 Which city were you from? Look at the way people dressed, their hairstyle, and the street layout. Reminds me of 80s Shanghai.
Your tour guide is so beautiful 😍
Welcome to DPRK.
wow. Thank you great leader
Wow supreme leader
Supreme leader thanks
김정은위원장 고맙습니다 친구 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
金哥,干翻特朗普,加油!
That tour guide is really pretty.
You are right, but you have been just captured by the leader. So fat and unfair ¡
@@davidellis5141 I was thinking the same thing. Do you go to jail if you try to get laid in North Korea?I would tap some of those waitresses too.
@@davidellis5141 great ass indeed!! I think she wears thong underwear
It makes sense. They dolled her up because she's on an extremely choreographed tour.
beautiful video!! thank you so much for the english subtitles :)
Merci !!!
Bien à vous toutes et tous ! Adrien B .
Haven't seen a video of N.Korea, that close, nicely done.
Great video, I learned a lot about North Korea. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this video
i always believe life in north korea can't be as bad as what most media portrayed them, because people has breaking point, if it was that bad then rebel will occure everywhere. And you guys are very respectfull tourist. I hope you enjoy your time where ever you go.
You're dumb. No, people wouldn't rebel if they've been brainwashed. If it was so great, why do tourists need a guide 24/7?
How can you rebel if you are starving and the government provides food for you to eat. They can only be be thankful. Not knowing that the food comes from WFP org not their leader.
north korea very clean, i love it
Keep up the Great work
Damn I want to visit North Korea too!! - a South Korean passing by
Wow I want to visit North Korea so badly after watching this video. Thank you! 😍😍
Me too ! They are really nice people and food looks delicious
4:49 We all heard that BURP 😂
Typical Chinese behaviour.
brother fly
"How many Chinese tourists come here?"
"Too many". LMAO...spot on!
7:50 "Too many" is a bit inaccurate. The exact translation here is :
"Do a lot of Chinese tourists visit here?"
"Yes, a lot"
"Oh... Recently is the no. of tourists even higher?"
"Yes, cuz recently it's the holiday season"
How clean were the Gulags?
I came here just for tour guide
You have just been fished by the party. But you are safe if you are not one CIA agent.
I also came here like you.
That's a unique looking restaurant, trees inside. Cool video, you don't see much footage from NK where you actually see people just walking around.
What a beautiful lady as a tour guide
Looks great!!!
Love to visit North.
Have lived in China, have been to a couple of NK restaurants I miss these kinds off Asian food soooo much!! Yum
I enjoyed the miso in Qingdao as well. Cant wait to visit again someday. Tsingtao beer is the best, especially when served in a clear plastic bag on a hot day.
Coming here and feeling hungry after. The food looks so good!
Jin Zhumei is so pretty, OMG, her beauty is stunning!
many East Asian women are beautiful like her. I spent a few months in china and sometimes saw women like her. Especially those in the service industry, like stewardesses from south china airlines or so etc. (Sorry for my english, i am german)
