He’s permitted to post these videos cos it only shows the best of North Korea, and he’s trusted not to slander them. It’s kinda cool to see what life is like in Pyongyang but it’s always important to remember that it is not the reality for most North Koreans. The only people who live in Pyongyang are those who have proven to be loyalists and have enough money to live there. Those outside of Pyongyang consider Pyongyang to be like a separate country. Fascinating. I can't help but wonder where everyone is going and what they're doing. I'm always surprised by the wide streets and lack of electrical poles in the few videos I've seen from Pyongyang, quiet a contrast from other major cities in the region.
The wide streets are easier to send military equipment through, and they also make it easier to repress a popular revolt. That's also why Paris has grand boulevards.
"Greeting from Germany". Middle-aged guy here, but I just made it to see DDR in the last years, as a teenager. And East Berlin was actually more colorful. At least with "Neues Deutschland" signs for the newspaper, and similar stuff. Anyway, I am glad that I saw it, before it dissappeared.

Interesting that the norm seems to be for bicycles to be ridden on the sidewalks, which are full of pedestrians, even though the streets are wide and with very little car traffic.
There are not many bicycle lanes in Pyongyang, the road I passed in this video does not have a special bicycle lane, the law in North Korea is that we are not allowed to ride a bicycle when crossing, we must get off the bicycle when crossing. In this video my friend and I are also discussing "should we cycle on the sidewalk or on the road, because sometimes we are prohibited from cycling on the sidewalk and sometimes we are prohibited from cycling on the road".

I ve been to Japan recently, never seen a single bicycle lane there in Kobe even tho bikes are everywhere. Maybe its a common thing for asia

Challenge what I said if you disagree, do NOT tell me what to say.
And yes I'm literally observing (not saying but noticing with my eyeballs) that North Koreans can't even afford to buy things tjay would then pollute.
Actually I already said that, so youre just an idiot for making me repeat myself as if I wasn't clear the first time and as if it isn't obvious by knowing literally anything about this failed country.
@@ene4602 because the mayority of them dont have anything and what do you expect will happen if someone throws trash on the ground and a civillians snitches this to the military
Go move there then. Good luck!
I love seeing so many people walking on what look to be very safe and clean streets. The fact that you can see kids walking alone says a lot; you don't get that in a lot of US cities. Even in a walkable city like the one I live in, car drivers speed and it can be really dangerous for pedestrians -- someone in a wheelchair was just recently hit near where I live by someone going through a red light. I'd be interested to know what part of the city this is and how widespread pedestrian & cyclist infrastructure is.

I don't think they have internet in NK. Am I wrong?
You are not. No internet in the DPRK.
yes you are

all of the specials ive seen about this city make it seem like its much more of a dystopia than what is shown here. great video.
That’s exactly how KJU wants Pyeonyang to look: very normal and clean to show off as a perfect city. You have to understand this is to hide the ugly truth if it all. So I guess his strategy is working on you haha. To be fair- people do live somewhat normal lives in this city
Ok illiterate @@jlow263
If you take into account the situation the country is in (many sanctions imposed, limited resources, etc.), then the streets (hardly the front side of the city) look very good. At least there are no peasants lying around from hunger, lynchings on every corner and carts instead of cars on the streets, as propaganda usually says
That's their capital, no wonder it looks somewhat decent. I'm more interested in what the other cities look like
im not saying that its perfect there or anything. all i meant is that when i watched other specials on this place there were hardly any people on the streets compared to this one. i guess i worded it in an over dramatic way. i still like the video :)
Very clean and orderly. I'm probably going to have nightmares after watching this.
because our capitalist mentality makes it normal to see trash on the ground, visual pollution and congested traffic
Que vídeo mais satisfatório 👏🏽👏🏽😍😍😍

City looks much better comparing to 2004. Thanks
How clean and organised.
Ironically their city appears to look much neater than the one i am currently living in 😆
Yeah, because those people can’t even afford to buy the junk food with wrappers, bottles and cans that wind up on the street.
Nothing ironic about it. I'm sure you enjoy the same amount of freedom as the citizens of North Korea too. Idiot.

So amazing, looking forward to next video!
