    Thanks for the info. I'm an African American that has always been interested in Asian culture. I have taken many classes from different Asian countries on History, Art, Religion, economics and more but nothing on North Korea. The American media only show bad things that happen. I am now a new fan of this series of documentary's. It's really cutting edge how it's done. I must say an excellent job was done. And thank you for the English subtitles. Did anyone notice how the guides seemed to show absolutely no interest when they were explaining what the southernmost city in China was when they first went into the library? And did anyone notice how strange it was at the end when the librarian lady couldn't answer a simple question about how long China has been in existence? She said she was only a philosophy master and she would have to get someone from another department to help her answer that question. It seemed strange she couldn't just answer it. Overall, very well done! I will be watching them all 👍

      i know your comment is 4 months old and someone can correct me if im wrong since my korean isn't near perfect, but in regards to not answering the simple question about how long china has been in existence, i don't believe the translator actually asked that specific question, she basically just asked about historical questions in general. cos translating especially in real time, you don't always translate everything

      I'm not Chinese, but the writing systems of Chinese and Korean are entirely different. Korean is phonetic, Chinese is - as you said - ideograms. So, no, they can't read it. The example you are looking for is Japanese, since it shares some of the Chinese ideograms, different readings but the same meaning.

      @Darc Widow I think you are not right linking the political system of a country(capitalist or comunist) to how women are treated by men(as object or as persons).This depends fundamentally on the culture and education of the people of each country,no? As for the case of the girl guide of the video I think she is not only focused because of her beauty,but much more because se looks gentile,elegant and kind in her manner she do the job.No objetification at all.I´m sorry about what you say in Brazil.North Korea is not so sure for women as you believe.Read about women in NKorea.You will be surprised.

    • @spooky_carp7761
      @spooky_carp7761 2 роки тому

      There is no regulation of haircuts. The famous poster you know of the haircut is literal suggestions of hair styles that are trending with North Koreans. Anyone who speaks Korean can verify this. These styles are not state-mandated at all. Watch the documentary "I went to North Korea to get a haircut" which should hopefully dispel this view maybe watch the propaganda game as a side. Ironically, the only place where we see the regulation of haircut was 20th century and early 21st century South Korea and the Islamic world. Yet we do not see mentions of dystopian haircut rules in those countries by global media kabals. No such things as haircut regulations exists in the North as haircuts is not the state business and Kim Jong Un has bigger things to care about than what haircut Kim Chong Yol had at the 21st of July.
      A news media in the past said Kim Jong Un forced his haircut on every male. Then proceeded an article in the next few years saying how Kim Jong Un will kill anyone who copied his haircut. Such contradictions have been made and yet you cannot see it. You are being lied to and this lie is much bigger than the one in Iraq. When will you wake up?

      There are tours to Hamhung, Kaesong and many other North Korean places It's just that you are too lazy and not looking hard enough. Every tour has a set guide and a set path. In a country like North Korea where feds and NIS spies are rampant it is important to keep tourists on a tight leash. Also, if you are aqauintenced or familiar with any tour group, you would know that there has been an incident of drunk tourists causing a mess in North Korea. Hence, the tour guides must keep them secure.

      90% of all people visiting North Korea visit to see how North Koreans live their daily lives and the city of Pyongyang meaning it makes 100% sense to show buildings like universities, office, restaurants and metro stations.
      Foreigners visiting North Korea are not interested in ancient Korean history but rather how they live. Hence, It makes no sense to make ancient Korean history or nature like baekdusan or kumgangsan as its focal point of advertisement when there is no demand for one.
