Far Cry 5 is a 2018 first-person shooter, developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft. It is the successor to 2014's Far Cry 4, and the fifth main installment in the Far Cry series. Set in Hope County, a fictional region of Montana, United States, the game revolves around the Project at Eden's Gate, a doomsday cult that has taken over the county at the command of its charismatic and powerful leader, Joseph Seed. Players control an unnamed junior deputy sheriff who becomes trapped in Hope County and must work alongside various resistance factions to liberate the region from the despotic rule of the Seeds and Eden's Gate. Gameplay focuses on combat and exploration; players battle enemy soldiers and dangerous wildlife using a wide array of weapons. The game features many elements found in role-playing games, such as a branching storyline and side quests. The game also features a map editor, a co-operative multiplayer mode, and a competitive multiplayer mode.

One of my personal favorites of all time. The setting and story is far better than the others for me.
I personally prefer 4, 5 is a close second though. It is a great game and one of the best stories in the franchise.

Setting's great. Story is absolute ass.
I prefer primal cuz it was the first for me, and to me the mechanics & animations like say for skinning & looting are all modernized from the previous 2. They’re faster yet they still exist (unlike 5,new dawn, and 6), and the takedowns are baller. 5 had a great setting & story & I love the fishing in it
I remember when people shat on this game because that was the cool thing to do. But it's genuinely my favorite far cry.
Loved the game, absolutely hated the abductions. Especially the escape the bunker one. Never completed tnse game because of it lool
Bro every time I go camping, once I get settled in I play the first track to really get me in the camping mood, the outdoor mood
Soundtrack is incredible. One of the few games I enjoyed more the second time round, admittedly I ignored the story on my second playthrough.

Love this game. Running around with Hurk and Boomer just doing crazy shit, never gets old.
I liked the gameplay and some of the story but i didnt like how the protagonist is silent
While i dont think ill ever play this one again due to how long and repetitive it tends to get i will say it was a hell of an experience on me mentally. The story feela so geou ded in reality in a lot of ways and alot of the characters feel like real people. Also the way they all react to the event at tge ending is chilling. Tge way they are panicking and saying "this isnt happening " as the world burns was horridying.
Also the main menu music creeps me out because for ms it just gammers home the cult like cheerfulness contrasted by the grim reality of the siruation these people find themselves in. I feel like if i was being indoctrinates into a cult theyd have nusic like that playing to get me in a happy state of mund so it works well for that reason on top of being relaxing.

I hope, they need to bring back the skill tree system in the next Far Cry. FC6 gear with abilities system was interesting but also hectic for me due to managing different clothing to put on. At least they should have had some kind of skill tree to compliment the clothing imo

Glad to know I I just bought it on ps5 but it’s a ps4 game with the update it’s running at 60fps just started it 😅 it’s already fun

I haven't enjoyed a Far Cry game as much as I enjoyed this one since 2 way back when. I was so underwhelmed with 3 and 4 I actually didn't bother playing this one til this past October and was shocked by how much I liked it. I really couldn't explain why, it just worked for me!

I liked the bass game it’s prob my second favourite- 3 being my fav
but my word the dlc was abysmal and don’t even get me started on the dlc for far cry 6

Whilst not having the best story (I also hate the mute protagonist, it makes the dialogues between the villains and tense or dramatic moments completely dull imo), the setting of this game is my fav of the series and it might be one of my favourites of all time.
Living on the countryside makes me love this game even more. Not being my favourite Far Cry (4 is for me the best) this one has the best setting and gameplay, the customization is awesome and the vehicles too.
6 for me is a BIG step down, being the characters completely annoying and the setting a rehashed of 3. And the return of the minimap is a big letdown. 5 is immersive af and the gameplay is miles better than 6. Is sooo smoth and the graphics are still insane.

Too many weird close ups of the bad guy like he's always in your face in the cutscenes it gets awkward
That's what makes him so great. The psychological torture he provides. Greg Bryk did an amazing job.
Far cry 5 is a masterpiece
I got this game cis its on game pass and im really enjoying it the hunting and taking out outposts but i feel its too easy and the story dosent feel like its there but the graphics are great and im enjoying it so 8/10

Definitely huge downgrade from FC4. Muted protagonist, gunplay and gunsound downgrade, location wasnt that fun, no gore takedowns, stupid level up system, worse antagonists, forced main missions etc.
Completely disagree with you. This game sucks. The setting of Murica is so bland ,so boring.
And a mute protagonist is epic. I play as me, not as any given character, imagination is amazing...if you have any.
The best FC by far is FC 2. Fighting tooth and nail just to survive in the brutal yet beautiful African savanna.
Where veld fires started by you,become a danger even onto yourself. I really need a new FC2 remake that ads aggressive animals to the African plains. Where you fight corrupt African war lords ,taking down the weapons trade ,blood diamonds and rhino poachers. Because all of these problems are still a major reality in Africa today.
And to add to that ...they can showcase the wars that are more and more being fought over clean ,fresh water sources.
African leaders that shoot up civilians and UN convoys trying to deliver water and food in order to exert power over the region. And you are in the middle of it all ..with not much more than a 50 year old AK 47 (and other guns that jam) and a machete in hand.
