"Shayne-bourne", but I won't fault you on it: it is difficult to pronounce.
I love how easy it is customise VW Beetles (though I could never drive one: mostly manual transmissions). Only qualm with restoring the VW Beetle models, in my experience: the plastic windows on the models made by Maisto are VERY brittle and don't take power drills well in trying to remove them (they crack easily).
Good daily drivers, though: reliable and built to be such.
Lol sorry mate 😂 I did try 😎. Thanks again for becoming a patron I truly appreciate it mate 👍🏼
That VW Bug is Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful!!!! The paint, detailing and wheels are awesome!!!! My best friend rebuilt a 1956 VW Bug and the color of his is so very close to what you did!! Super Great Restoration, Rob!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Love these older castings, Nice choice of wheels and paint. The interior added just the right touch, great job !
My older brother had this among his car collection and would never let me play with it. I love love love that engine detail. And you’ve managed to improve my memory and make a nicer car
Another lovely project! Love everything about it: colour, details, added interior, wheels! All are excellent choices!
Love The color of this awesome 1960 Volkwagen Beetle brings back the vibe of the 1960's Era peace out dude !
my wife and i enjoy watching your videos since the very beginning, keep up the great work!
I love how the 1960 beetle turned out, the chrome on the bumpers and headlights just put it over the top.
Nice job with the engine! That little chrome on the bumper really makes the resto look sweet!
Hello Rob,what a impressive model, with the wheels are right and the paint plus the details it looks awesome, while John is sitting inside,👍
The wheels and colour looks true to that period of time. Nicely done 👍
That is gorgeous, Rob! That custom color goes really well with the color of the windows! Well done you!
Wow, the details you added really help make this little car pop, especially the engine. Perfect wheel choice, I’ll have to get me some Greenlight wheels when this is all over.
Thanks for keeping the videos flowing during difficult times...
Nicely done, sir. The color is sharp and the details on the engine are super. Looking good for the old bug.
Outstanding job, the paint, wheels and the interior turned out fantastic 👍👍😊
Love the way that color popped over the black primer. Would like this for my collection.
Wow Rob, looks incredible.
The color and details make this one really pop!
looks great, the added details bits really sets it off.
Showing your class again, Rob. Great resto'. Lovely colour and the wheels suit the car perfectly.
In Black looks pretty cool the Volkswagen Beetle
Beautiful paint job Rob. I love the restoration.
As always a superb job on this little bug! The tealish turquoise suits it well, well done mate!!!
2 Poms, 2 bettles, 2 different concepts. Brilliant.

Nice custom job! I like the paint color, the wheels and the interior.
Well what can I say other than another awesome transformation and restoration of an old vintage diecast model. Job well done Sir
Great result, and so many details for this little car.
Oh my!! Stunning little Beetle.. love it...
Yes Rob Not Over The Top, Just Perfect Is The Right Call!!! Thanks For A Squizz At That I Never Seen This Matchbox Before Either!!!
That's one Beetle I'd like to have in full size! Your detailing is top notch.
Great job and I remember my dad had a 69 and a 70 VW Beetles.
My first car was a 64 beetle. Lots of fun.
Great job love the interior ..perfect fit don't keep us in the dark..we may want to do one like it!
All my real cars were VW's.
Another great job on this one.
Wow! You did a great job on this one. Love the details!👍
color and wheels are beautiful, good choice of wheels and color congratulated you
Hard to go wrong with a Beatle. Good job as always!
Great combination of primer and paint; looks period correct too.👌
Great job this car is beautiful. I respect your choice of wheels.
You had me worried when you said you were going to do a custom on this great little beatle. I did watch the other video you mentioned and loved how that one turned out but yours I must say takes the cake as it looks fantastic. Those awesome Porsche like wheels, the color and and the subtle details all come together perfectly to make just the little beetle that I would put together in real life to bomb around town in. It looks great and I can see anyone wanting one of these. If your wife loved it before you had better look out cause she will fight you for it now!!! Thanks for the video, it was great as always, be well and take care.
Matchbox Ressurection did one recently too, the third I have seen now in as many days....lol! Cool!
Jeez Rob, you are knocking these restorations/customs out at an amazing rate. I was gonna say you keeping busy during lockdown but you said you working still!
Perfect again Rob. The wheels, paint and even thinking too bad it didn't have an interior, yet you thought of that. Great job.
Great job with the Volkswagen Bettle Awsome paint and wheels and tires cool thing with the driver inside. Next one please do the herbies Movie car thanks Rob
You hit one out of the park on that restoration.
Nice job on the small fine details as well..
Love it. The Fuchs are a nice touch.
The bug is looking good! Nicely done! You should do the Herbie beetle on your next VW Beetle. Keep up the great work.
Nice job with this restoration. That color looks great and those wheels really look good . It made me think about a VW repair shop that used to be one block over from where I grew up. They always had a lot of Volkswagen of all types parked in the lot.
I love me a good beetle glad you worked one one.
I do like original restorations but this one is very nice. Well don Rob
The black primer really sets off the color.
Sweet mate, the little guy looks great in there.
These Fuchs rims normally are for the Porsche 911 models. Very often used on VW "Käfer" (the german term for beetle) but really expensive ones. You did a great job again. Thumb up !!!
That turned out really nice,
I think that's one of your best efforts.
😎
Wow this turned out AMAZING! Well done!
Great custom job Rob, really looks the part. 👍👍👍
I think this is a revised casting. I have one with the oval split rear window as well as one of these. I played with them a lot as a kid. They fit in the hand so nicely. I've recently got paint from both Wonderland Models, and Jumblies. Even without the lockdown, there are no longer any dedicated model shops in Ipswich, so everything has to be got from outside. I'd heartily recommend the two shops mentioned above. I have no affiliation to them, but they've never let me down.
Oh, my! Your custom is beautiful. The colour is brilliant, and yet understated. It's awesome.
Come on Brian you are one of the most knowledgeable. Any ideas on the interior
@@MatchboxGarage I was trying, and the only car I could think of with a driver without a hat, is the 1100 with the grut ole hound (as we would say in Suffolk) in the back, but the driver is on the wrong side. However, the Chevrolet Impala taxi, number 20? if memory serves, that has a hatless driver in the left hand seat. Am I close?
Nice and subtle restoration Rob. Liking this one a lot. My favourite Moko Lesney early Matchbox
I questioned it in the beginning, but that really turned out to be something pretty special!
Looks great. Color is perfect
Great car and a great colour. I think you were lucky to get one with the boot lid as they seemed to go missing quite a lot.
Really beautiful! Great paint job 👍
Absolutely beautiful work mate
WOW! I already liked it as it came from Matchbox, as it depicts perfectly the original car, but looking at yours one can almost hear the engine pottering along :-)
Awsome Rob Like thee interior and John ready to go rideing
Beautiful!! This may be favorite one so far!!
Rob you'r the best
i love everything about this restauration 👏🏻
Absolutely beatiful! The color is bang on target! 👍
Fantastic restoration and video you never disappoint
Mate, seriously, this one is outrageously good... Hat tipped once again...
Thats Fantastic. I love Orange Cars. But that is Great. 10/10
Really nice - loving that colour.
That is probably one of the most beautiful looking VW Beetles I've ever seen, great work!
turned out great as always and the wheel are the right choice just like the Porsche ones
Very nice makeover.
looks great, Marty's came out well too
Wow. Thats one great looking VW! The color looks amazing on it. Through my paint research for building models. That looks like a 1965-66 General Motors color here in the State's. Artesian turquoise is the color name.
Great restoration work, well done.
Wow nice job as always love that colour looks absolutely amazing
Looks sort of like a Super Beetle now... John is going out for a drive on a sunny afternoon.
It might make an interesting video to do three identical cars in identical colors, but with different primers, to see how it affects the end result.
When I was in high school , it was fairly common to see VW Bugs customized by companies to suit the type of business. A local pest control place had VW Bugs painted as mice...that sort of thing.
Looks great. Metallic colors were a '60s thing..
Nice build and paint job 👌
Nice aftermarket wheels too!
That turned out very nice! Love Volkswagen 's thank you
Great job on the engine detailing
Beautiful, those wheels are perfect!
Lichen that blue. Helpful tip - pour your castings out of the foot-long jar through a strainer to keep smaller parts from making a break for freedom through the drain on you...
Nearly got squisherated by a VW Beetle when we was a li'l whelk. Swerved at the last moment and hit our upstairs neighbor friend Marlene. It had lost a lot of momentum in that turn and she was more or less unhurt.
Volkswagen Beetles were still being produced in Mexico till shortly after the turn of the century.
I have always dreamed of owning a beetle! If I did ever get one, I would go crazy trying to decide what color to paint it! The color you came up with is absolutely beautiful! Very well done Rob!
Love the EMPI style wheels Rob 🙂🚗
I love beetles! My next car I want is a beetle!
Nice shiny paint job!!
seen his video and I love both his and yours
Good paint Job 👍
Awesome job my friend
You called him John, I would have called him Ringo. Super shiny car Rob.
the car looks great. the wheels really set it off. i like the interior. it really makes the car complete. too bad matchbox didn’t put interiors in their early cars
