Awesome job bro, that caravan look killer polished. I actually nearly added a couple of polished areas on mine as a lot of those old trailer had paint and metal on them, but then changed my mind.
The American polished trailers are called "Airstreams"....and it is interesting to me that this trailer has no tail lights....I would not like to drive behind one. Nice restoration.
L2 BBOC airstream is a brand of trailer.i guess normally you see them in polished aluminum but I’ve seen other trailers made of the same stuff. Where I’m from we either say trailer or camper and I guess it’s just the context that stops any confusion.
The moment you said you were going to polish up the caravan and leave it that way I immediately got the picture of an Airstream in my head and knew this one was going to come out great. I had my doubts about the color you were painting the car but goodness it turned out gorgeous and the chrome on the car really matched so perfectly with the caravan. One of your absolute best, mate (and that’s saying something!!!).
Beautiful customization! Love the airstream look on the camper. They were made with polished aluminum. Yours looks fantastic! The Victor looks sweet too.
Fantastic! Love that polished trailer so much. Reminds me of an Airstream Travel Trailer here in the US. My husband’s grandparents were members of an Airstream club that would travel all over the country for meet ups. It was always neat to see theirs parked by the house when we would visit. Good times! Great job Rob.
Awesome job on the Vauxhall and Cavalier caravan. I LOVE the grey colour and the chromed out bumpers on the Vauxhall and the other painted details. And the polished caravan OMG it looks fantastic. I think you were aiming for the caravan to look like the Airstream. Or at least it reminds me of the US Airstream caravans or travel trailers as they are called across the the pond
Looks great. The Airstream travel trailers were one of the most popular polished trailers here in the United States. They use to hold gatherings every summer in a town closet to where I grew up.
Two beautoful custom restorations!!!!! The polished caravan is brilliant, and reminds me of a US Airstream. And the Victor looks very appropriate in a light gray....I like to see something quite different that the original when it comes to a Matchbox Garage job! Thanks, and well done....as if I didn't expect that!
Awesome! Trailer is a general term for us, used to describe anything pulled or towed behind a vehicle. What you've done here has many names. Including, but not limited to, camper, camper-trailer, bumper pull, or fifth wheel. 😉 Love the channel, man! I watch it all the time. Keep 'em coming.
No way dude you should have done the car with like one of them salmon Greens on the bottom with the cream light cream on top or something gave it some color man that's just like a dull thing but man that polish on that camper which is what us Americans called those things very very good excellent great job and the detail in the car and stuff like you guys do yeah man I mean you might as well do that I mean cuz it just looks like you just spray painted a vehicle the details make everything up man they make it look so cool you guys are great man I've been watching the channel for a little while now alright take care keep up the good work and yeah the more detail you do on these things the better these things look they almost look like those Miniatures those Japanese people do over in Japan all right guys by
As well as the different scripts on the bases. Compare the 2 side by side. The pins that secure the base to the body are within the door casting on the 1956 version. On the 1958, the securing pins have been moved to outside the door frame.
lol we call them RVs - Recreational vehicles, travel trailer, pull behind/bumper pull,5th Wheel, camper and pop-up depending on the size, type, style, towed or driven and regional dialects. Some times in the case of some iconic brands like Airstream, just by the brand name, like what you were trying to say. Hope this one makes the 2k likes for a give away, cause damn those came out amazing!!! Thanks for sharing Mike from Texas,Take Memories,Leave Footprints
This reminds me of my childhood in Saskatchewan Canada when the Airstream trailers would have their annual get-together. Dozens of polished alumin(i)um trailers travelling in a pack. Those are the North American trailers to which you reref at the end of your video and the first thing that popped into my mind when you poured the castings out of the 304.8 milimetre hot dog jar. A real blast from the past!
That's a very good looking combination, grey on the car fits great with that polished caravan😎 An American bus (Matchbox Greyhound bus) should look good and realistic when polished.
Hi Rob,I'm liking them both, car and caravan, the silver on the car bumpers look so smart it just pops, the caravan, yes I remember the chrome effect ones,to do this one the same is a awesome idea.
That’s beautiful. Polishing the trailer and leaving it unpainted makes it look like an AirStream! They have an all metal skin, which I think is aluminum. I like the color of the car and your detailing!! 👍👍👍
very nice customisation. The Airstream were are the polished stainless steel trailer campers. Your Airstream looks nice. Very good polished look. Hopefully you will do a car in the same fashion soon. Nice job.
All my life, as I can recall, here in the US, trailer is the second name of the, well, trailer. I've always heard them called Camper trailer, Horse trailer, box trailer, moving trailer (like Uhaul), flatbed trailer, stake trailer... and so on. Unless your right next to the particular trailer your talking about, then it's just a trailer. Also, camper trailers are often referred by the kind of trailer it is. It can either be a travel trailer (which connects to the vehicles trailer hitch) or a fifth wheel camper trailer. You'll have to look that one up if you don't know what it is. It's 4:30am and descriptive words are eluding me at the moment. Although, if you put a car on a flatbed trailer, it then becomes a hauler. LoL Great build by the way. Looks awesome.
HI Rob, Great job on both. In my country we call them travel trailers. I think the Airstream And Avion are two manufacturers that used to offer non-painted, aluminum bodied trailers. They were known for their relative light weight and aerodynamic design. 👍😉
I do love the polished van gives it a 50's vibe, gives me an idea for maybe leaving one or two of my cars that I have more than one example of, in a similar state. A Jag or Rolls Royce comes to mind for that look, maybe with custom wheels.
Awesome as always rob, omg you got a fab shine on the caravan, it looks like an old airstream .... love both yours and dannys builds, its nice to see you both doing a joint build again
Nicely done Rob, trailer looks fantastic, the brand was Airstream and they were mainly polished aluminum or stainless steel. In the US, anything we tow is called a trailer.( Not very specific, unless you actually want to be)
Great job👍 ... The "Airstream" came to birth after ww2 a air plane plant had to re-tool and had plenty of material left over and the RV trailer was born.
Great job Rob,love the polished look on the caravan and the Victor came up great as well... Jb Weld is a great product too used it before 2 years and still holding.
West coast Oregon here . I've only ever heard them called campers, a caravan was a line of camels making their way through the desert, but i think it's a cool name too 😃
Gotta love a shiny camper. I've got an old Airstream Ambassador in my back yard, sadly no longer roadworthy. Makes a more interesting view than an ordinary garden shed, though. :)
The shiney R/Vs most often are AIRSTREAM brand of travel trailers. Does anyone else realize that the Vauxhall Victor very strongly resembles a 1955 Chevy sedan? Great job on the tow hitch repair!
Very nice work. The caravan is blinding. The terminology illustrates our differences - even with the same language. It's a caravan here too, but most pop-up tops are called campers. For horses it's a horse float. And the open 6' x 4' with 300mm sides, that you might tow to the hardware store is a trailer. The 6 x 4 is so common because they are exempt from having to pay a vehicle registration fee (MOT, Licence), if the trailer is for private owner use only. In trucking, a dog trailer is usually an axle at each end, and the hitched axle steers. A pig trailer has fixed axles in the middle. Dog trailers are most commonly used as a tipper. Pig trailers mostly curtain-siders for pallet transport.
Awesome job bro, that caravan look killer polished. I actually nearly added a couple of polished areas on mine as a lot of those old trailer had paint and metal on them, but then changed my mind.
Thanks Danny 😎
Amaaaazing job!!! Really retro look
The caravan looks great, and the colour of the car is spot on. Another fantastic job.
Fantastic result! What a pair of beautiful and classic Matchbox pieces, great selection and, as always, an awesome job. Congratulations, Rob 👍🙋
Classic old castings, beautifully done over!
Cheers
Looks beautiful that polished metal camper.
Fantastic! Love that polished trailer so much. Reminds me of an Airstream Travel Trailer here in the US. My husband’s grandparents were members of an Airstream club that would travel all over the country for meet ups. It was always neat to see theirs parked by the house when we would visit. Good times! Great job Rob.
Lovely set. Cool to see a polished casting. Ahh the good old days of driving down the PCH, behind a shiny Airstream, looking at my reflection.
Sophisticated color choice on the car. Really like the polished travel trailer.
Wow . Awesome look. Perfect colour for the old car and the camper looks great in chrome look . Well done:-).
Bro, the Airstream Camper looks amazing!!! Never thought a Matchbox would look so sick!! Amazing job!! 🥂🥂🥂
This set impressed me. Beautiful older models that I would like in my collection. Rob deserves 20,000 likes. What are you waiting for guys???
The caravan looks amazing, but the finish and details on the car really set it off! A brilliant combination! Great job!
The trailer is fantastic! Just like an Airstream. The fix on the trailer worked out very well.
Robs taking a road trip on Route 66. Saw Danny's car and caravan and he's going on his summer holidays😁.👍
Trailer looks sharp! Looks like an Airstream....I think that is what you were thinking of.
I absolutely love this restoration /+/ custom attempt. Perfect in every way. Well done Rob.
Polishing the caravan took courage. Any ewok would be thrilled to adventure in it.
Man i like these more than real car restorations
Very nicely done. The polished caravan here is called Airstream. And you made those look great.
In Ontario, I called that a camper (caravan/trailer). THe final look is stunning!
Incredible job! Love what you did with the camper.
Awesome! The brand of "trailer" / "caravan" in the USA that are made with the polished look are called Airstream. Nice work!

Might be my favorite one of your restorations.
Fantastic job I love that you left the Travel Trailer polished Metal. The Airstream Trailers were polished here
Beautiful Vauxhall! Love the bare-metal caravan
That caravan is wicked awesome in polished metal.
Muy buenos trabajos...sobre todo la casilla rodante!!!
what a cool set. the caravan looks great polished and unpainted
Nice work. Like the polished camper👍👍👍
The caravan you restored is a 23b released 1958, the one you didn't touch is a 23a released 1956.
Thanks
As well as the different scripts on the bases. Compare the 2 side by side. The pins that secure the base to the body are within the door casting on the 1956 version. On the 1958, the securing pins have been moved to outside the door frame.
Very Nice! UK Caravan with an USA Airstream finish! 👍👍👍👍
I really love the trailer, and the muted color on the car is actually perfect!
Thanks Keith
That polishing job is superb. I like the car as well.

Greetings from Canada … enjoy your videos. The caravan (trailer) that you mentioned is called an AIRSTREAM … polished aluminum body panels.
What a fantastic job. The colour choice of the car with that polished caravan works perfectly together. Well done Rob
Great work on both!!! Here in the States we call them camper trailers and the ones with no paint are called Airstream and Avion Campers
This reminds me of my childhood in Saskatchewan Canada when the Airstream trailers would have their annual get-together. Dozens of polished alumin(i)um trailers travelling in a pack. 😂
You did a great on the car and the caravan. I like the polished look on the caravan.
That's a very good looking combination, grey on the car fits great with that polished caravan😎
An American bus (Matchbox Greyhound bus) should look good and realistic when polished.
that's an awesome restoration! here in the states they were called air stream campers
This came out awesome. I love the fix to the trailer hitch.
I love the caravan ... I have a Roller that I polished up and clear coated ... Great finish on both ..
I love this combination and your finish choices!
Looks awesome! I really like how you took care of this one. It's a really clean restoration and customization job.
Awesome job Danny. I really like the polished trailer/camper/caravan. Keep up the excellent work.
Excellent job on both the car and caravan.
Hi Rob,I'm liking them both, car and caravan, the silver on the car bumpers look so smart it just pops, the caravan, yes I remember the chrome effect ones,to do this one the same is a awesome idea.
I love the build offs you do with Danny, you're both really great restorers, thanks for the efforts fellas.
The polished trailers were called airstream great job
That’s beautiful. Polishing the trailer and leaving it unpainted makes it look like an AirStream! They have an all metal skin, which I think is aluminum. I like the color of the car and your detailing!! 👍👍👍
I had to come back to this one Rob. One of my Favorites !!
Love the fact that you left the trailer silver. I used to vacation with my family in one. I always love your details on your cars also.:)
Outstanding work Rob! What a triumph
This was a lovely combination. The polished caravan looks great
What a great choice of color (and chrome). Really nice restoration.
very nice customisation. The Airstream were are the polished stainless steel trailer campers. Your Airstream looks nice. Very good polished look. Hopefully you will do a car in the same fashion soon. Nice job.
Very nice I’m really digging the polished camper and the car turned out awesome as well. 👍👍😊

Looks very good in bare metal, and the car color is nice too !

Great job with the car but the caravan looks awesome hard to get a mirror finish without any marks on it well done.
Mate, that's the first video of yours I've watched. Great work and imagination. Spot on!
Great job and here in the United States we call the stainless steel trailers Airstream. One of my favorite mobile trailers. 👍👍👍👍
very nice Airstream style caravan :-)
In some parts it's called a camper trailer. Looks great 👍
Nicely done Rob, trailer looks fantastic, the brand was Airstream and they were mainly polished aluminum or stainless steel. In the US, anything we tow is called a trailer.( Not very specific, unless you actually want to be)
Very well done, that caravan came out beautifully!
I would love to win this one. When my kids where young, we used to go camping. We had Fifth Wheel camper. This would remind me of those good times
Great job👍 ... The "Airstream" came to birth after ww2 a air plane plant had to re-tool and had plenty of material left over and the RV trailer was born.
I love the polished caravan.
Brilliant Rob. Really impressed with the caravan. Although not a "streamline" looks fantastic...
Great job Rob,love the polished look on the caravan and the Victor came up great as well...
Jb Weld is a great product too used it before 2 years and still holding.
West coast Oregon here . I've only ever heard them called campers, a caravan was a line of camels making their way through the desert, but i think it's a cool name too 😃
Great job with your detail painting. You should film it.
Gotta love a shiny camper. I've got an old Airstream Ambassador in my back yard, sadly no longer roadworthy. Makes a more interesting view than an ordinary garden shed, though. :)
That's cool 😎
Another great job Rob. And the polished caravans in America are made by a company called airstream

My favourite restore so far 🙂👍
Thanks Rob cute little combo job
Looks amazing Rob. The time you spent polishing the trailer was well worth the effort.
Awesome video. Love the Matchbox Vintage Berkeley New Color. Awesome job.
Looks fantastic, and reminds me of the old “carry on” films
Pretty damn cool. Great job. Would love to have this one. 2 4 1.👍👍👍
Nice chrome trailer, and the car is nice too. 🤩
Nice work, again.
Off to find Danny's video.
Absolutely wonderful job. Great work
