The last Ford Falcon came in 70 or 71. Look just like the Torino if I'm honest. Australia has had the Falcon since. Mad Max ...uh...you know....drove one....lol. Glad to hear your voice.

Hi Rob, Matchbox made two castings of the AMX. The one in this video is the earlier model, probably made in England The lines on the roof would sort of indicate a TTop but I don’t think AMX offered that option.

Rob, in Australia, we have a famous race driver named Allan Moffitt, who raced Mazda RX7s among other cars. Google his race cars and you may find a livery for your RX7, so it represents an actual iconic race car. Assuming you can print decals.

The Jeep Waggoneer, at 13:40, is a lovely model - it's very, very similar to one featured on the TV show 'Breaking Bad' - it's the car belonging to main protagonist Walter White's wife.
No Ford Falcon in the states. Not since the early 60s. Disappeared before the first Mustang. Both you and Marty’s Matchbox Makeovers disappeared around the same time. Nice to see you again. No rush though. Proceed at your own pace. Just know we still appreciate your videos. Candy AMX for my vote. See ya.

Apologies for the late reply. The first car I drove was very comparable to the Chevelle, as it was a 2-door 1970 Buick Skylark Custom. Gold with a white vinyl hardtop, great muscle car. Thank you for the unboxing.

I have been looking for a good tide car too, there is something about the livery, it must be the orange! I always loved the amx, it would be fab in another colour, perhaps maroon.
Was just thinking about you Rob, as I watched Danny's latest vid ~ it's been a wee while. Good to get a break and come back all fired-up and ready-to-go.😁
I'll happily watch you restore any of these but it would be good to see the AMX get a splash of candy paint.

The AMX is a rare one you have with an orange interior - or is it yellow - looks different in the lighting. If it was an orange interior in Mint condition that would be worth quite a bit. The Javelin is my favourite matchbox. Another great video Rob. Willis. Btw
I think it's "Willys" (pronounced like the contraction of "Willy is" or is the possessive of someone named Willy).
There's a song, "Sugar Magnolia" by the Grateful Dead, where part of the lyrics are "She can dance a Cajun rhythm/Jump like a Willys in four-wheel-drive/she's a summer lover spring, fall, and winter". Supposedly, you could make a 4×4 Willys "jump" by disengaging/engaging the clutch in 4-wheel drive.
I can understand wanting to keep certain models apart from others for display: I have several model cars of different scales in my bedroom of famous/infamous cars from different films and urban legends from around the world (like a 1958 Plymouth Fury, a 1980 Dodge Monaco, a 1986 Fleetwood Bounder RV, a Delorean, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, a 1972 Ford Club Wagon, and a Volga GAZ-21, which doesn't sound all that scary, unless you've heard of the urban legend in Russian folklore about that particular car). I also keep my Lesneys and my Superfasts separate from my other cars.

That Matchbox Isuzu Rodeo was called the Vauxhall Frontera here, just like the real vehicle. That's a mk1 1991 - 1997 version. Then there was a facelifted Frontera made from 1998 - 2004, Siku made the SWB sport versions.
Glad you're back Rob. Just one thing, Walmart sold most of their stake in Asda a couple years ago. They only retained about 5% share so unlikely they'll rebrand to Walmart

Opel distributed the Frontera only in short wheel base, I think. the large one was named differently. can't quite remember, saw only one in my time workign at the opel dealership.
I would vote the corgi mercedes, that casting deserves more than a black stripe for a front assembly. :) but a widebody RX7 sounds good as well.
(I LOLed at you mentioning your adventures in pressing the tip until it's wet...)

You are correct, Isuzu (eye-sue-zoo) is tied up with GM so Vauxhall, Opel in Europe, GMC in the states and Isuzu in Japan, in Australia and NZ its Isuzu although some models were branded Holden
I always pronounced it like Willy's but it is actually pronounced like Willis.
The Willys family pronounced it as "Willis," so I guess that's the actual name.
Yes this is correct, but in promotional advertising it has been referred in period as Will-eez. I prefer to use "Willis."
