I think it is the fastest way to beat him! Instead of waiting for him to do his special attack at 1:00, I attacked him, flooring him once before finishing him off!!! ;) - Розваги
Notice that the bearded guy in the front row, about 7 people from the left, never moves. However, he nods his head at the precise moment when you can knock Honda down with one blow. Watch for it at the end of this fight when HalDanGhor deals his final punch.
Not quite right, because when he presses select, that moment is about 0.5 seconds before that bearded guy nods his head. However it is obviously a cue to the player, at least.
I’ve never in my life seen someone beat the living heck out of Piston Honda like that. The dude didn’t even need to knock him out the third time.

You know bud, Piston Honda 2 is the easiest opponent in that game along with Glass Joe. In reality, only one punch is needed to knock him out. I didn't need to give him a beating, but, hey, better have an action video than a one punch KO in approx. 1 minute when he does his special technique. ;)
Well dang, normally when I hit him during his crazy fit I only get a star and rarely knock him out. But I know I freaking suck at the game so I probably wasn’t doing it right anyway. XD
Yes, sometimes, depending on the guys we fight, time can freeze or slow down a little bit when they do a special attack or when we hit them with a series of rapid punches...
you guys friggin rock. a jab to the stomach works too when he's coming in and will end the fight. I've played this game for 25 years and never knew this stuff.
You can beat Glass Joe with only one punch too.
@Emiester1130 The "Select" button is generally used to regen Little Mac's energy once per fight between rounds (Press "Select" so Doc hits Mac's arm faster, so it means the trick worked. However, if you use it before some tougher fights, Mac's energy will go down by half instead... ;)

Hey, i never watched a tutorial for Piston Honda 2 and i beat him in 1:00 by accident i didn't know about the bearded guy, or how to counter his attack with a bunch of punches. I did in my first try and then my save was deleted so i watched your video and i beat him again in 1:00. Thank you so much

Way to go it takes me 25 seconds to even get a punch at him
hehe nice, usually when i tried to do that he would use me as a punching bag while i was in the air
when the first screen comes up (mac and doc vs whoever) if you hit the select button , doc will pump up mac
if this is done at the beginning of a match, there is a chance that either your or the opponent's energy will go to half. if this is done in the middle of the match (end of rounds), then your damage will drop by a random amount.
How do you do that power hit at 0:51 ??

When he does his Piston charge, he can literally be floored for the game.
I never can hit Piston Honda (the rematch) using his special attack. Do I have to use a power hit in order to do it?

Yeah, the body blow when he charges in is a guaranteed KO. If you try to hit him in the face, I believe he blocks it, then throws his series of jabs.

It's really Piston Honda 2. Learn how to faint for the body blows and see at 1min approx. when he does his Special Attack! PH1 Special Attack is much more longer than PH2's Special Attack! You have lots to learn dude! ;)
I know. However, this one shows the way i beat him at my best many many years ago. I now know about his tricks and the rest. However, I won't change this video, since it is some kind of my own signature and my own style. ;)

Heh, stopping the "Piston Charge" with an uppercut must've taken some precise timing.
Yes, you will always get a KO if you punch his gut during his Piston Charge, although the timing has to be exact.

Sure! In order to hit him in the stomach, you must faint by pressing the "Up" direction for him to be caught off-guard (for body shots) and being vulnerable to one shot to the body. If you wanna practice it first, I suggest you use the first fight against Piston Honda! ;)
The trick is to press the upward direction then hit to the body. Pushing upward or downward direction can have influence on many opponents at given times. ;)
HalDanGhor is it a rapid movement?
Cuz i tried i press up and then hit but it does a punch to the face not the stomach. Also it doesn't give me stars :(

@@cosmicwomansrn-0112 I recommend that you practice that technique against Piston Honda 1, so you can then master it and be better against Piston Honda 2, since Honda 2 requires you to do it a little faster. It only works in the phase before and while he jabs you. Use up or down button to see him up his guard or lower his guard first before attempting to hit him where he is leaving an opening.

He blocks because you don't feint him with guard up just before going to the body when it's possible to do it. (press up to get his guard up then quickly hit the body) ;)

Why did you start out at 50% health?
I fell to the floor laughing because one time I knocked out Piston Honda in 59 seconds with one punch.What happened was that I DID NOT throw one punch at him until he came down on me and that's when I hit him in the gut.
We can KO him early if we send him to the canvas with a body punch when he does his special attack at about 1:00 in the fight. Sending him once to the canvas before it is just a bonus. I wanted to show it was possible. Yes, I was using an emulator, but consider it like a console, because I don't cheat nor use tools as some say. I just practice and send some good work. ;)

anyway pissed off honda(XD) is a challenge the 2nd time you face him,but there are harder opponents
the little one is Up + Punch, the big one is select(or start) I forget which, when you have a star

Sometimes, when we use the trick to get more life between rounds before the beginning of the fight, we can lose half of our energy, depending of the opponent. We just have to press the "Select" button once while we see fighter's stats.

@HalDanGhor I realize this from your other videos, but i've seen other people do the same thing in theirs. I didn't know if there was any strategic advantage, or if they merely did it because they could.
Funny when I was 7 I knew all the tricks to all the opponents, now I'm 37 and I get my ass handed to me

I tried this and he never moved his guard up like that. He just kept his gloves on his stomach. Am I doing something wrong?

You can use it only once per fight. You use it before the fight or between rounds. Push "Select" to get some energy back between rounds, and risk to lose 1/2 health if you attempt to do it before the wrong fights. ;)

@Draknfyre Listen. It will NEVER decrease health by half between the rounds even if Mac did not get hit once and was still flawless. Stamina will decrease by half only before specific fights, which are mainly tougher ones such as title fights, and some other specific fights as the game progresses. This rule never lies. If it works once against an opponent before the fight, it will work every other time a player uses the "Select" trick... ;)
the start button lets you use a power hit, but you have to have earned them by doing special timed hits against the opponent.
next: This is the second time you face Piston Honda and in this match, if you hit him while he's doing his special attack he goes down and NEVER gets up.

Wow, I beat him in 1:01 the other day and I thought I was cool! This Piston Honda 2 acts differently, the one in the version I play (Wii virtual console) doesn't lift his gloves as often, how weird.

just pressed select when i had full health and it took me down to half health at the start of the round.

Honda throws 3 jabs. Dodge them.
He then throws 2 wild upper cuts. Dodge them.
Then he jumps back and charges! When he does hit him with a body blow and he is DONE FOR! Very rarely does he get up from it.

Well you know, if you take a better look at my vid, that's what I did in a sense. He always does his jump back and charge at approx. 1 minute. I got him and he did not get up. Only one punch is needed for this fight. I used the star uppercut and it makes the same effect than a body shot. As long as he goes down, he will NEVER get up. If you say that he got up from that, it's because it was in the first Piston Honda fight. In the second fight, if he goes down because of a single punch as he does his special jump back and charge, he'll always be knocked out. ;)
But for a UA-cam video, going for more action was the way to do it, right? ;) and we can even stop him before he does his special trick as well, which means knocking him down 3 times before 1 minute. ;)
@@HalDanGhor I'm a bit of a maniac when it comes to this game.lol. a similar trick can be done on Soda Popinsky. When he crouch, block, then punch and he goes down easy. And to think he gave me HELL when i was a kid.
@@johnlewisbrooks Yeah, this game is very addicting! No worries for Popinski, very possible that I may have been the first player to show this technique on UA-cam. The funny part is that lots of peope said that I was cheating instead of asking me if there was a trick or something lol.
Never heard of the "Select" button trick?
Because you have to learn to use "Up" and "Down" buttons to do some faints. That's how we do it! ;)

@jwild611 Oh yes! Way more entertaining! Looks spectacular, but the timing comes with practice and knowledge of the game. Nothing big there, really. The timing must be good, but not that great. ;)

He may go down when you hit him. sometimes, you'll hit him and he'll stay up. I recommend hitting him in the stomach when he does his special attack. ;)

Press up when his guard is down and press down when his guard is up. You might see some reactions to it from Piston Honda.
there is a faster way to beat him. check out Kingdom Carts. He found a way to floor him for a TKO in under a minute

You press "up" quickly then let go before u throw a punch obviously? Cuz I can't seem to get him to let me hit him in the gut
Remember that it only works BEFORE he throws his punches in this pattern. You should practice it with Piston Honda 1 since he is much slower. Yes, press "up" to make him guard up, then throw to the body. The repeat if you still have time before he starts to throw punches and get to other patterns where this technique doesn't work. The best way to practice it is at the very beginning of every fight against him. ;)
