I know the guys that make this armor. Upstanding guys. Family owned and operated. Also, I believe they have a kevlar wrap as a steel spalling shield that goes with the plates. The set I have is wrapped in Kevlar. To mitigate spalling.
Yes the fragmentation Kevlar lining is available. I have this exact plate with the lining. I have seen reviewers test the plates for spalling within a colored box to easily visualize any spalling damage. The plate did great. Only fragmentation that happened was when the bullet legit hit the very edge of the plate but even then most was contained.
Just got my lvl 3plus and I’m happy to see videos like this. I also like how thin the plates are. I emailed the customer service and they emailed me back fast. Cool stuff.
Cool, just make sure you either coat them in 10 layers of flex seal, and/or glue a level 3a topper to the front. Otherwise the bullet splattering and the fragments will go in n any direction including towards vital arteries in your arms and neck.
@tracemiller1519 By the time you've bought everything, you need to make the level 3 plus steel plates safe, You could have just bought one of the cheaper level four ceramics . Is check out my armor playlist. Even some of the sub two hundred dollar armor has stopped some incredible rounds
Hey Chuck. PSA sent me an email, they have Dagger complete slides for $169 and a package deal with a complete Dagger frame and a striped AR lower for $99. In case you are wanting a Dagger. Don't know if shipping would be a problem or require a local FFL.
Yeah it didn't do too bad... except you have to spend extra too get it wrapped or get a IIIa flexible plate and glue it on top. That shrapnel was intense

You can do that or several layers of flex seal or they make a wrap for them. Or just get a piece of cheap IIIA pistol armor on top and sick it to your flex seal before it dries

They do. It's a good product.

Awesome video! How heavy was the plate?
I just saw these for $99 for 2 plates and I think I’m gonna give them a try!

@@AlaskanBallistics what about the extra coating or whatever they offer as an add on?
@tracemiller1519 It helps, but it's not enough.

@@AlaskanBallistics that’s kinda what I figured, I have one of those shrapnel vest but no plates yet. What’s your recommendation for plates?
“It will stop anything but a Redneck with a reloading bench.” 🤣
Truer words have never been spoken
Good video. Really tough plate. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Yes sir. Thank you
Great variety here nice job, good plate.

lol spalling tearing up that duct tape
And the go pro lens if you watched for enough
I always wonder how far back it would take to end up stopping them. If you're getting shot by a 300WIN at 30 yards... you're in a lot of trouble
Ain't that the truth. Probably about 150 yards. 150gr above 3000 fps is tough to stop
Also why you get level IV
You could probably wrap it in a layer of thick denim or some Kevlar fabric for spalling.
But by the time you pay for the wrap, you could have bought level IV botach Battle Steel armor for 139
@@AlaskanBallisticsis that for one plate or two?
Man you gotta get some m855a1 for that 20 inch it will pass right through
I got some projectiles im loading up in .22-250
Would a 22 250 barrel stabilize it?
It's about twist rate not cartridge. I've got a 1 in 7 twist
Thanks
Thank you!
I just bought 2 sets because of this video...
Cool. Make sure you wrap it good so spawling doesn't get you.
@@AlaskanBallistics any recommendations?
@jakevanputten6069 botach.com level IIIa panel, superglued on top.
Pretty impressive.👍
Just got to control the fragments
@@AlaskanBallistics That's what heavy sweatshirts and long johns are for isn't it? LOL
Lol not in the summer
@@AlaskanBallistics LOL
👍👍a good plate
As long as you can stop the shrapnel sure
Your willingness to stand so close and not worry about ricochet is crazy 🤣
Because I know physics and that bullets shatter on this stuff... it's Also slightly angled..
Science!
I'm shocked for the price
Yeah it didn't do too bad... except you have to spend extra too get it wrapped or get a IIIa flexible plate and glue it on top. That shrapnel was intense
What do you mean when you keep saying put a level iii topper on top? TIA.
Find a level IIIA pistol flexible armor, glue on top, trap the shrapnel
Cool video Alaska! I want to shoot armor.

A 3a topper?
Get a cheap Kevlar pistol rated insert and glue to the front of the plate
What do u mean by topper ? Can u buy rubber and just glue it ?

Thank you Chris
Ceramic plates or steel plates wrapped with kevlar and trauma packs?
ceramic level IV ... stops everything
