Call of duty has taught me that real operators wear 3 armor plates in the front of their plate carrier, and after they get shot they just shove another couple plates in.
@@GUARDIAN.13 i prefer the comms vest but I mainly play DMZ with my brothers and having that call out that operator/squad/platoon is nearby is super handy and comes up big most of the time

My plates come in tomorrow with the carrier i ordered for my brother (I already have the elite carrier). Every time I get a package from Tacticon it's a good day. I highly recommend their gear to anyone looking to equip themselves.
One additional caveat: if a plate says in conjuction with 3a soft armor please for the sake of your family wear the soft armor under the plate. It might stop some threats without a soft armor backer but not what it's rated for.
I really appreciate that you guys actually took the time to properly explain/test this. Other UA-camrs would not have put in the effort. That opening joke tho 👀
I was wondering the same thing sorry all the guys talking about taking frag. I've seen the tests they've run with the steel coating but it would have been cool to see how the soft absorbed the spall that deflected from the steel
Happy to see my ar600 plates get more fun/testing done. It's good to know that, with my plates, I can be an effective shield for others against up to 30-06 AP. Not that anyone is going to be trying to shoot me with such ammo, but it's food for thought.
@@kalebtingen934mine show up tomorrow. They have a great plate/plate carrier combo on their website. I've bought almost everything they have on their site and I am thoroughly impressed with their gear. Get you some, bro!
Funny and informative, 😂...lol....love how interactive you(Jake) are between the videos 2A podcast and keep your company running and gunning. You and all the people at Tacticon Armament, I hope you all have a great holiday season and Merry Christmas and a happy new.
So much fun .can’t wait for the 2a pro course and about 7 years worth a double jobs and absolute grinding till I can have fun like this. It will all be worth it one day to not have to punch a clock for someone else
Local cop in my department once survived a 50BMG to the chest because he was wearing both his plate carrier and his dad’s, also a cop, who had recently passed away, to honor his memory.
I'd be curious of the stacked AR600 and AR600 + PE plate with an M2AP round that meets the NIJ spec of 2,880 fps, vs surplus which usually never comes close :D
Whybdidnt he put the soft/weaker plates on top? It better to use the lower rated tonslownthe bullte down and the higher rated to stop the bullet/pueces
Space game warfare and tank warfare has taught me about spaced armor, so I guess, a pair of metal/ceramic/poly plates with a piece of Kevlar in between could count as spaced/composite armor?
Honestly, what we really want to focus on is what is the least protection one needs for the realistic threat of you know who and what bullets they're using. We know it's not handgun rounds. But, what plate(s) is/are sufficient for this specific task?
I'm curious to see how many 3A+ hard poly plates it takes to stop an M855. For science. My best guess is it goes through 5 plates, and stops on the 6th.
Tacticon armament can you guys do a plate like at 19:55 but less steel thickness! What i mean is a custom order of steel strike face half the thickness and weight but thick poly backer that would be amazing right around 8lbs !🤞🤞
Solution, strap those reactive plates they put on tanks onto your chest You may even stop some explosives, so that's like lvl20-30 armor No need to thank me, just make sure you have back insurance
Ok how do I get on the R&D or Design Team? Fellow poor boy here that has taken many dives into the bargain bins at my gun shops in order to make what I need be reliable out in the field and on the range. I want in
I dont mean ceramics on ceramics im talking soft armor behind my ceramics or steel behind a ceramic or even steel behind soft armor different kinds of armor that do different things ceramics are weak and im not rich. I need to be able to continue to move after being hit this isnt warzone dawg im not swapping plates.😂
I don't see nothing wrong or questionable about using soft armor in conjunction with steel armor. I could see soft armor being great for spauling and debris. But I'm just a flat range roaming civilian
On this episode of Science with Dr. Halfcock, we ask the question "does stacking two girls with B cups equal one girl with C cups? Does stacking two girls with D cups equal one girl with double D's?, and does stacking a dozen girls with A cups equal one Christina Hendricks?", this and more on Science with Dr. Halfcock!
Was hoping for ar600 and lvl 4 with m193 but I think you went beyond with the BBT (Big Black Tip) I actually had this dumb ass idea a while back. I have level 4 plates but hearing you talk about steel’s multiple hit factor makes me want it, but here in the good ol’ USA most people have green tip and m 193 so I think it’d go through just steel but not steel and lvl 4 but it will weight 14-15 lbs for both front and back. Will there ever be a stronger steel?
If you layer steel and level IV, you're going to have a rig that is well over 30 pounds, if you can even find a carrier that accomodates double plates.
Yes but all this testing that you’ve done it,what if you was shooting from a far distance??? Like 100-200 meters away??? I think no one will penetrate then 😉 In war, is less likely to get hit from 5 meters as did you shoot there , but it happens sometimes 😂 But if you get shot from a far distance then is ok,but anyway nobody is dump to carry double plates in fron and double in back😂😂 So yes LV 4 is better.
@twe_music it's worth the wait. I got the battle vest v2 with the 3+ plates. I have wide shoulders and good size traps. It took a bit to get the shoulder straps adjusted to a comfortable spot but I have no complaints. Especially for the price.
Call of duty has taught me that real operators wear 3 armor plates in the front of their plate carrier, and after they get shot they just shove another couple plates in.
good ole prison pocket holding ur extra plates so u can just keep shoving them things in there as they give out on ya

This channel and company is amazing. It baffles me this channel hasn't absolutely exploded. On that note I'll do what I can to spread the word.
Still want to see a lvl III+ steel with a IIIA+ soft backing.
I know the AR500 III+ plates can take a .30-06 AP round in conjunction with soft IIIA armor as a backer. Theres a video
Second. How about that .556 M193 vs AR600 & IIIA soft
…out of a 18 or 20inch barrel😮
Third. AR600 lvl 3+ & lvl3A s or h
Against M8551a
Definitely some fun testing right there. Thanks for the hard work Dr.Halfcock and flipflop ninja.

I appreciate the profrssionalism of this video. It's truly amazing that he has military experience, became a CEO and a scientist. He grinds hard.
Correction, Energy = (1/2)*mass*(velocity^2). Differences in velocity contribute more than changes in mass when it comes to energy.
One additional caveat: if a plate says in conjuction with 3a soft armor please for the sake of your family wear the soft armor under the plate. It might stop some threats without a soft armor backer but not what it's rated for.

9:21 Kinetic energy is 1/2 (mass times velocity squared). not just velocity...
Soft plate in front of steel. Will that prevent fragmentation?
Having ballistic gell behind thse combinations would have been a good idea
This is why I trust you guys, using your means to see results, your smart, in a dumb way.....😊
I always thought a little outward curl at the top and sides of steel plates would help with any frag concerns.
A soft on top of steel would seem to help with spall containment.
I was wondering the same thing sorry all the guys talking about taking frag.
I've seen the tests they've run with the steel coating but it would have been cool to see how the soft absorbed the spall that deflected from the steel
Would like to see the same soft in front of steel and a good trauma pad in back

Unless you're a German fighting in the Ardennes 80 years ago, you're not going to run up against 30-06 AP.

Try the other way around. Level 3A in front and level 3 in the back. That would be interesting.
i bet 2 of those 3A soft armour stacked together can stop a 7.62x39

so how about stacking AR600 with Safelife FRAS?
I stack III plates on II soft. All I have. Better than nothing.
Tbh I always wondered just was curious
🤓 this is all I see when you wear those glasses🤣🤣
Only if you can carry it ...
Why did you add the lvl 3a but multiply the rest? Wouldn't they have become 9a^2?
Thanks 😂this video was informative and funny as F.
