My two major issues with Braking Point: - no matter how well you do, Butler's team is always ahead of you and it always comes down to finishing in (spoiler) place in the final race - there's no way that teammates would be affected by paddock gossip like that
I saw the title and got so scared, i thought "is Braking Point worth it?" meant that the story mode had to be purchased like a DLC. Thank god i was wrong.
I played as Alfa Romeo in breaking point and it was pretty fun. Loved that I could spot the Spain 2016 reference as well as perform a multi-21. I found the story length to be just right for a busy guy like me, plus I got to race with the best livery on the grid 😍😍😍. Got both drivers a win at Paul Ricard and Zandvoort. It’s one of two reasons why I have F1 2021. The other is because of my team because it’s something I haven’t done before. Sadly I hit a bug when entering Paul Ricard’s pit lane and yeah, I know how treacherous the Ai can be. Hopefully they’ll have some fixes to resolve that lot out.
Short Answer: no Long Answer: no Braking Point alone isn’t reason enough to buy a new game, but if you like everything else about F1 2021, then sure, but it’s not much different from 2020
A good review of every codemasters F1 game is a video by Raycevick, he played all of them from the best to the worst, to even the kart racing spin off that was genuinely funny to watch.
The game isn't worth it as a whole. I've experienced this with player and AI, I have had a muddled up points glitch, random positions glitch. 60 warnings for crossing the pit line on the SAME lap and immediate DSQ. Finished F2 and was suddenly work 12M and had 19 acclaim, while second was worth 800k and had 5 acclaim. Only 11 finishers at Austria because AI won't understand that they have to take a new racing line if someone is gonna pit ahead of them, instead of ploughing into them. Cars not slowing for Safety Car and ramming the back of them. Pitlane Entries being broken and the car clipping though, under or even being spawned back on track, pass the pit entry so they gotta do the entire race again. The only mode BUG free is breaking point. It's clear to me that's all they really properly cared for and the rest of it they did was half-arsed. Expecially F2, as my first and second race, all features race altering glitches. Helmets not spawning or Drivers not spawning. The MyTeam progression button disappearing, making it impossible for me to progress. Even though the Livery Corruption glitch is now fixed, it kinds mad that that was there in there first place.

1. Difficulty is too easy, to bad you can't use an AI slider. 2. Story is cliché boring and linear to bad you don't have multiple choices. 3. Biggest plot twist in the story is that Akkerman is actually Dutch.
My issue will always be that the gameplay and the story are inconsistent with each other. You can get wins in your car, but will forever be fighting for 4th with Butler's team. 2 wins and still fighting for 4th? What a fucking mental season that would have to be.
Yes. Unironically the most fun I've had with an F1 game maybe since they first brought out the classic mode. The scripted nature allows for some fun scenarios, and cliches aside using fictional characters allows them to have a heel (Butler), and let the protagonists act in ways that they'd never allow real drivers to be portrayed. I loved the cinematics, and I loved how they tried to show that Casper and Jackson have different motivations and perspectives, but both are easy to identify with. I would really, really love for them to expand on this concept in the coming releases, with more elaborate scripted setpieces and stuff. Loved it, do recommend. Really my only criticism is that, for me, Challenging was a bit too easy and the hardest difficulty felt impossible. Would be nice to sort of fine tune the difficulty. Really what these games need is a difficulty decider where you do laps on different tracks and it takes your sector times and determines where your skill is
It’s not just F1, every single sports game franchise has a lack of innovation each year cuz they hit a point where they could no longer get much graphically better year to year and EA especially is too lazy to create more than one add-on to their game each year.

- there's no way that teammates would be affected by paddock gossip like that
I got first in every race it allowed me as Casper, yet he was still 6th in the WDC by Abu…
16:42 Not to mention how OP the AI are at corners like Copse, Pouhon, the esses in Suzuka and Scheivlak (the double right hander in Zandvoort)
@@mitchrudolph65 How is the ai having more downforce than the player accurate?
@@mitchrudolph65 I can't beat the ai at those corners either no one can no matter how fast they are

Short Answer: no
Long Answer: no
Braking Point alone isn’t reason enough to buy a new game, but if you like everything else about F1 2021, then sure, but it’s not much different from 2020
A good review of every codemasters F1 game is a video by Raycevick, he played all of them from the best to the worst, to even the kart racing spin off that was genuinely funny to watch.
Jimmer Broadshed is disappointed you didnt mention his in game tweets LOL
“I still don’t believe Toto wolf will get rid of vallteri”
Well that didn’t age well…
6:30 obviously this particular comment hasn't aged well
The Story is kinde meh but I was stunned by the grafics this gammemode has!
Yeah, but the facial animations could be better.
The only thing i can think of when Aiden talks are how unaturally white his teeth are 😁
@@Dannzt but the actual voice acting was surprisingly good. Aiden less so but Akkerman and Butler were insanely well done (MoCap aside).
Aiden Jackson... Sounds like Jack Aitken tbh..
Bro your edits make this video 100x funnier 🤣
I'm glad you mentioned all the pain of 2021 at the end because I was starting to feel bad about getting 2020 because of the cost, I'm not missing out on much
Pro tip... Pick Alpha Tauri. Butler will be in Haas. Isn't it a Perfect place for him?
16:34 lol love what Max is doing
So we're not going to talk about the Dom torreto in the thumbnail?
Im still not convinced buying the F1 2021 game. Im still getting what i want in F1 2020
Handling feels better cause the tyre rework this game, thats why i got it lol
I can’t see what peoples issue with the game is,yeah it will have issues all new games do,gameplay wise is so much more playable other than the kerbs of death🙃
@@joshywilliam4690 i dont have issue about anything gameplay or whatsoever i just judge that i still get what i need in F1 2020 so instead of spending i will wait for the next generation F1 cars in 2022 with the new regs
@@sorn2866 that’s fair enough I sold f1 2020 so I wasn’t used to the physics of it anymore for me it just feels more immersive
@@sorn2866 it’s also because I’ve seen quite a lot of people say they regret buying it,but it’s a new game so it won’t be perfect, look at cyberpunk 2077
8 years to make and game was still incomplete
If u chose haas/ alfa romeo it would his dream to drive for ferrari
If u chose racing point or Áston mártín it's his dream to drive for mercedes if alphatauri it's his dream to drive for ♉ 🐂
7:34 at least he didn't fok smashed the door on him xD
This game is a JOKE. Any serious sim racer plays Assetto Corsa or Rfactor.
no one said that this was a sim racing game
15:19 Rare Lando speaking
1. Difficulty is too easy, to bad you can't use an AI slider.
2. Story is cliché boring and linear to bad you don't have multiple choices.
3. Biggest plot twist in the story is that Akkerman is actually Dutch.
"I dont think Mercedes will get think of Valteri" that aged badly
Really what these games need is a difficulty decider where you do laps on different tracks and it takes your sector times and determines where your skill is
Same here
It’s not just F1, every single sports game franchise has a lack of innovation each year cuz they hit a point where they could no longer get much graphically better year to year and EA especially is too lazy to create more than one add-on to their game each year.
6:29 this aged veeery poorly
AHAHAHHA CAME TO LOOK FOR A COMMENT ABOUT THIS
Casper and Aiden, and possibly Riccardo, Norris and Ocon, outside of Butler's motorhome after the team dinner: "come outside, ain't nobody finna jump you"
