Her comedy is so homely, culturally. We can recognise ourselves somewhere in this. Safe but very satirical of British society. Gifted Victoria to show our society in this way.
Totally Fonabido! My dear Mum and I thought this phrase was hilarious and used it again many times over the years - a shared joke. Mum worked as a market research surveyor when I was little. Victoria passed away shortly after my Mum was diagnosed with the dreaded 'C' and we were both so sad about that. RIP Mum and Victoria.
Seen this sketch so many times and still makes me laugh. Rest in peace dear Victoria and thank you. Will buy a copy of the Women's Weekly in your honour.
Remember those evenings when pretty much the whole family would watch the same programme? Sitting in the same room. On the same couch if there was room, the floor next to it if not. I kind of miss that sometimes. Even if the youngers weren't fully watching, there wasn't much else to do and Victoria was funny. Victoria was a safe watch for the whole family. She was vey skilled at that, subtle innuendos wrapped in obvious visual comedy. Never crude, never cruel. Something she did made everyone laugh at some point, often all at the same time, Victoria was just funny. Saying "Totally Bono Fodo" still gets a response like "Oh yes, Fotally Dono Bodo" with my friends. I still know all the words to Freda & Barry! She was definitely one of the greats of British comedy for me. Plus, catchphrases abounded. I miss her too. Wonder what she 'd be coming out with in these odd times.
In my opinion Victoria Wood is the greatest comedienne of all time. Not only for her performance but her writing. Although Julie Walters would have made it anyway because she is also brilliant she was helped by Victoria Wood's wonderful writing.
“Someone poked an eclair through the curtain” 😂😂😂 brilliant 🤩
Congrats, you found my favourite line! 😂
@@HighHoeKermit it’s a classic 😂

Even the piece of string being slightly too short is hilarious. Absolute bloody genius, RIP Victoria.
Imagine how difficult it would be to write this sketch yet she made it look effortless, the genius that was Victoria Wood RIP

Still cry with laughter when I see this ... such a funny, clever lady who is still very much missed.
She was a one off, her observations are just 100% spot on
She was brilliant!! RIP to a great comedic talent. Laughter is what we all need right now xx
That intake of breath laugh is so gorgeous. I want to learn how to do it.
She was a legend very much missed Victoria Wood 1953-2016
One funny lady and always with such a kind humour-very talented and sorely missed!
RIP to a comic legend. Your comedy will be missed 💔
I'm amazed she was able to get through these bits without bursting out laughing.
Following on from my previous comment when Mrs Overall came out as a Lebanese in Acorn Antiques was priceless lol.

It's where someone poked an eclair through
the curtain in the photo booth !!!!!
The Pride of Prestwich, gone too soon. Rip Victoria, Queen of Comedy.
Still relevant
I would have loved to see her an rowan atkinson do some live performances together.
We need the complete the complete show in one , and not in several parts
ian greenacre I'm afraid the whole show got banned when I tried. In fact most of my Victoria Wood stuff has, since her untimely death. 😔
HighHoe Kermit I have it on DVD, so I just thought the whole thing might be here .. I have a few ... miss her humour
