Nice shot of Dave Allen at 3.26. He's amused, but obviously more interested in STUDYING what she's doing. I think that's the best compliment one comedian can give to another without anything having to be said.
+Aron Le Baron Yes, you're right. I noticed that analytical look on his face, too. And then there were other sterling comics in the audience who spontaneously belly-laughed when Vic worked her magic - she had the gift of working everybody's chuckle muscles!
I've just viewed shots of the audience. The lovely Joan Sims and Pat Hayes are present, so are Alan Coren, Roy Hudd, Barry Cryer, Val Singleton, Jane Seymour, Celia Imrie, Liza Goddard, Miriam Stoppard, Brian Rix, to name a few.
Whenever I go into a department store and walk through the expensive make up counters, I always, to this day, think of Sacharelle!! She was pure comedy gold!
I’m sure that Victoria must have been inspired by the scary, orange-faced make-up sellers in Kendals, Manchester. God bless you, Victoria - so sadly missed.
One of the funniest moments ever in British comedy. I remember seeing this for the first time when it was aired on telly and literally rolling on the floor in laughter. Such a fantastic observer of human life - R.I.P Victoria.
I used to work in a big department store back in the 80's and this is so spot on, I think she must have come in where I worked, I even got dragged into getting my face done once, when no customers would volunteer. I remember laughing hysterically at this at the time, it's like. a piece of ones life gone forever. But, DON'T Rest in Peace Victoria, I'm sure there is plenty to laugh about in heaven.
Victoria Wood. - Saccarelle. I remember my experience of a free makeover. I was at the NEC in Birmingham, England 🏴 I said to the cosmetic lady, Please do not put a lot of foundation on and definitely not bright red lipstick 💄 and really black eyes 👀 You can guess can’t you, I looked just like a Clown 🤡 I never want to experience that again and pretend that I looked great when I couldn’t wait to wash it all off. I’ve never been to another one since.
"So this is Madeline asking, for the last time, for one friggin' volunteer! Would you drag your bums up, *please!*, for the magical piggy world of Sacherelle..." Victoria is something else, isn't she. Amazingly funny and a talent gone way too soon.
my sister and I used to watch this on a video. when we go into a department store I still sometimes say "welcome to the world of sacharelle" and laugh every time!
Hannah Montana me and my mum did the same every time we went into the stores in the town centre sadly my mum Victoria wood and even the store have all gone x
It's even funnier when she mentions the speculum you don't see any men in the audience laughing. Bless their hearts... Wendy sounds like a dish though. I wonder if she's single... and if her Ringworm has cleared up.
Imagine playing to an audience of your peers, including Dave Allen, Dawn French and Dennis Norden! What chutzpah that must take! This is a special comedy moment . . .
Farewell Victoria, you made people laugh which is one of the best things anyone can do. And I've often attempted the accent you do here but, alas, with little success.
Thank you for sharing! Vicki had such a unique talent. So sadly missed! I recall 'Dinnerladies' in TC8 (c.1999) at the BBC Television Centre. The studios and many of the people who worked in them have now gone.
The sound of my Saturday afternoons. My dad taped this off the telly n I would watch it every weekend when I went to stay with him. This, what’s up doc with barbera Streisand and Ryan O’Neill and the parent trap with Hayley mills. Good times
Just sat my sisters down last week to watch 'What's Up, Doc?' and they laughed from beginning to end. They were shocked by how funny everyone in it was. Then I put some Victoria Wood in the DVD player, and they laughed even harder. Victoria's talents are timeless and a true gift to humanity.
@@iangreenacre9108 Have you looked at the one series I have left of hers? I couldn't find it anywhere online so uploaded it, as I don't think it was ever repeated. However, I did it twice, second time in better quality, but some have already started to get worldwide blocks on. I'm sure the full 6 episodes are still there but I doubt for long now.

YES!!! I spotted that just now! On my 327th time watching this sketch 😂 He was in awe. He's a legend as well, obviously! 💚
Yes!!!! Been viewing this for years and just noticed that moment... he is truly studying her every word & nuance with such fascination ✨✨✨
@@Ampex196 Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders were enjoying the show. Think I spotted Pat Coombes too
Gutted, the smiles and laughs are not holding back the tears. A true genius! RIP X
Whenever I go into a department store and walk through the expensive make up counters, I always, to this day, think of Sacharelle!! She was pure comedy gold!

Great clip ! Sad to see celebs we loved that are no longer with us.
1:16 - A young Victoria Coren Mitchell sitting next to her father Alan Coren here.
John King Nicely spotted! Had never noticed this.
Holy cow, I didn't even notice that, she was so young there, LOL!
RIP Vic, so gutted. You were awesome :*(
I could still cry, and sometimes still do. xx

With her late dad Alan, well spotted!
For years I thought she said toothpaste I have only just realised she said toupees
Absolutely brilliant and total legend.Victoria you are so so missed
I’m sure that Victoria must have been inspired by the scary, orange-faced make-up sellers in Kendals, Manchester. God bless you, Victoria - so sadly missed.
Liz Cooper I totally agree!
God, Kendals! That's a blast from my past

DITTO. I could not phrase my feelings better!
Same here, utterly brilliant!

Perfect comedy timing. The best female comedienne of her generation. The best!
Best comedienne ever full stop in my opinion... never laughed so hard in my life
M Lynn - "Comedienne" is a female comedian.
I thought she was a comedian
Unconventional, unorthodox but utterly clever and utterly brilliant. That was Victoria Wood, much missed for her quirky and irreverent humour
Victoria Wood. - Saccarelle.

Such a fantastic entertainer, we have lost a well-loved national treasure, I've been watching all her videos, she really was a brilliant talent.

probably the single best hour of comedy of all times...brilliant
my sister and I used to watch this on a video. when we go into a department store I still sometimes say "welcome to the world of sacharelle" and laugh every time!
Every time I see one of those make up ladies, i always have this voice in my head.

I hope there's the sound of your Mum's laughter ringing around Heaven.
An incomparable talent, provocative wit,and truly great comedienne.
RIP Victoria Wood - so shocking - remembering the laughs
You can see Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders in the audience
This is my favourite sketch. So sad she died so young. 😢
It's even funnier when she mentions the speculum you don't see any men in the audience laughing. Bless their hearts...

Powder shadows, this season, come in all shades of the "speculum" HAHAH!!! Brilliant.
RIP to a talented, and amazing comedy genius.
The Geneva school of sterilised blackhead popping 😂😂😂 genius
Whoever said they don’t make em like they used to was watching this when they said it
Genius, the timing, the phrasing, just perfect. Victoria Wood stands next to Billy Connolly and Richard Pryor for me
This woman brings me joy and love ❤ the more times i watch I love ❤ absolute genius
Shocked to hear the sad news, a comedy genius - rest peacefully Victoria.
Farewell Victoria, you made people laugh which is one of the best things anyone can do. And I've often attempted the accent you do here but, alas, with little success.
She was the only celebrity whose death made me cry. She knew people so well, especially women and our unmentionables. RIP Victoria
RIP to an acting, writing and comedy genius. I am so sad today. .xx.
French and Saunders look on with envy. You couldn't beat wood and walters with their comedy. Unbeatable.
As an ex trained beautician..its all there to take your hard earned money.
So sadly missed. I must have watched ‘Dinnerladies’ a hundred times.
😂
Also love the bit in her story where she impersonated the deflation of a blowup doll that she hit with a dart in the pub. Quality stuff, this is!
Always astounds me the comedians that came to see Victoria:
Dawn French, Tracey Ullman, even the great Dave Allen's here.
And all studying her very closely, no doubt!
I don't think Tracey Ullman was there I think she had moved to the USA
@@pedanticradiator1491 It's Julie Walters
2:38, is that Joan Sims from the Carry On films? :D
+Benjamin Kelly It is indeed. :)
+HighHoe Kermit God rest her soul :)
+Benjamin Kelly She is also in an episode of Victoria Wood called Val De ree, also on my channel.
There's also French and Saunders, Ade Edmunson, Dave Allen, Barry Norman and many more!
And Julie Walters!
Gone too soon but never forgotten RIP
Brilliant! Hard to beat Victoria. RIP
I was 15, in Donegal. These days, I work opposite the London Clinic, where she met her end. Victoria Wood, a lifeline. Now and forever.
The Pride of Prestwich, gone too soon, Rip Victoria, Queen of Comedy.
Lips are very much Not receding.
Brilliant such a talent and sadly miss 😢

Surely that's Victoria Coren at 1:17...
You're right, with her dad Alan.
2.58 Who is the girl on the left? is it her from me and My Girl?
It is her from the tv show 'Me and my girl', and her name is Joanne Ridley.
yes leotard I agree !🤣
Where is the full show
Taken down by copyright I'm afraid. In fact since she died, more of her stuff gets blocked every month. I barely have anything left of her.
I have the dvd . Just a shame you can’t watch it online

If your still wanting to find it. There is a channel called Media Hussy that has it
Didn't expect it , straight after jimoein , this lady started funny but ended not.
She made money of this I didn't so she gets the last laugh .
