People who buy your products should watch your videos then they will understand your work ethic. Always ever ready to put in new parts. Very few business people do that. You are tops.

I'm delighted that it runs and behaves just as you would hope for. I was very surprised how quickly it fired off and ran so smoothly for you. To me it suggests that the recorded engine hours are correct. A good work out after a full service and thorough greasing will give you a much better idea I would think.
    Congratulations on a lucky purchase.

Love your optimism and willingness to tackle every task to get these beautiful babies running! Been watching for a while now and I love the layout of your shop as it's well thought out and functional versus functionally obsolete capable of handling all sorts of heavy lifting and painting as well. Yet, without the experience and knowledge it would all be worthless. I absolutely love when you pull out that little parts book, it's so worn the pages want to fall away from the binder and it reminds me of the old Motors manuals and archaic pamphlets I used to keep. They're worth their weight in gold.
I knew it would start but I did not know it would start so damn easy, what a blessing! May you be well, abundantly blessed and continue to prosper!

Back when I was younger (much so) we used to fit those starters without removing the pump and pipes, most times the starter failed because it had oil in it from the transmission. When we had to fit a transmission pump we used to prime them and bleed them too, it made life better because the pump lasted longer and you more or less knew if you had pressure before you tried selecting a gear ! Nice video, brought back many memories.

I like that they put a ground point right on the starter.. One of the things I have done for over 40 years on cars, when servicing starters, is to run a fat ground wire from a starter bolt right up to battery negative, making a far lower resistance path than grounding only through transmission/engine block, to ground strap, to frame, to ground strap back to battery. It always makes the starter spin faster and stronger.

I bought it for the parts so when it was time to take the alternator off we found that it was locked up not the engine. Amazing that the old girl fired up so quick and yes the army does have a few idiots. I should know, I would sign out a tool box and fix it myself.( Such as bleeding out fuel lines after someone put water in my grader. So ya they got idiots). But after all said and done, I did the work and everyone just stayed clear.

Clint it is good object lesson on the starter install. The best thing about that cat is no def fluid allowed. I worked for a small road contractor and most of his cats were at 40s. If it turned over it ran all day.

Nice to see a professional at work! Great job, think you were right about they tried to start it without any diesel in the tank. Excessive cranking and the starter burned out.
