Don't know if I'll sleep but just tried this at 4.00am. Havent slept well for months. Stress, anxiety, depression etc. Lots of sleeping pills etc. This did help me relax and feel more 'whole'. Will try regularly to see if it helps. Sick of sedatives.

I have experienced trememdous results for the few weeks I have been using these techniques. I am very grateful for your advice! I was desperate searching for something to cure my insomnia I have had acutely for maybe two years. I sleep well every night. I was constantly in my head and I couldn't accomplish anything. Now I am present and in the moment and can concentrate and get things done without "Chunking" the experience so much that it becomes an overwhelming chore. Thank you!

I'm pretty good about minimizing "mind chatter", andt these are great tools to add to my collection. I'm really hoping my wife will integrate them into her life, "Rescue Remedy" usually works for her... when she thinks of it. She has a hard time not thinking about her business & other things that don't support sound sleep. Thanks again!

Did a couple of these exercises as i am desperate to overcome a couple of weeks of poor nights sleep, (brings your mood right down and anxiety right up), and it took me like 10 mins to nod off last night compared to a couple of hours average the last couple of weeks. I did read too which really helped but i've been really fed up with it taking so long to nod off something had to change, albeit being wide awake at 6am! Im gonna try these exercises after reading just before i go to sleep and hopefully i'll notice some improvement, because i can't stand it taking so long to nod off

dear mr. Sherwin, from my 40-years cruel insomnia experience (from the age of 8 till i got cure with mizatrapine at the age of 47) the more insomniacs hear that they have to stop thinking the more they think and it's getting worse and worse! my personal opinion: never tell an insomniac to clear up the mind, or try to calm. it brings NO results, but the oposite. with all my respect :-)

I'd suggest, in addition to these great exercises, listen to some stuff designed for putting you to sleep, like delta or theta put on a continuous loop. My boyfriend has insomnia, but unfortunately is very skeptical about the human energy field. He wants rock solid indisputable scientific proof from like, MIT or Johns Hopkins. I ask him, just try it, instead of smoking pot, but he wont. **sigh**

hey rod, i sure hope & pray this will help me as i have suffered with insomnia for almost 3 years now? Do you think these exercises are severity based, because being that I've been suffering almost 3 years that would be chronic insomnia correct? However if you answered yes for chronic insomniacs, I am confused about the belly button exercise. Are you saying to hold your breath in during that exercise or to hold the position & are you stating to take the breath upwards and inwards?

I feel pressure on my shoulder when I lie down side ways. Sometimes I don't. Sometimes I just ignore and I do fall asleep. SOmetimes doesn't work for hours. physical pain and thoughts going on just too hard to sleep. Searched for infos for hours many times doesn't work.
