This is the English translation of my original video. Sorry, my English is still a work in progress ☺ Also, I have the first alpha version of my game, which I’ll show you soon
Maybe make it so that energy from veins doesn’t run out when mined manually, and instead is mined extremely slowly. It just makes a lot more sense and is much more intuitive than the veins running out when manually mined but not when automatically mined.
Sounds like a great game idea. You could add a mechanic that if a group of minimum 3 robots dislike the same thing about your colony they can unionize and attack your colony. Also you could make a mechanic sent to that all of the robots constantly backup their brain to some sort of storage unit(like a server) and have a library or a book like interface with all of each robots stats.
Maybe for a kind of simple trap, could be a series of nonsensical calculations scratched on the floor that stuns bots for a moment who have not seen it before. Maybe there could be the occasional trash shoot, which at the very least could just be used to explain the existence of some items down there.
Maybe have a knowledge system where robots don't spread the information of what they've researched immediately, they have to teach it directly to other bots, or teach it to a researchable archive building. Other bots could then go to the archive building to learn. Example, a bot learns how to make larger and stronger supports, only that bot knows how to make the supports, it has to take time and spread the word about how to make the supports to other bots, or spend a few out of game minutes uploading it to the archives. Other bots could then spend a few minutes to download it from the archives and they would then know how to make better supports. You could make upload points so that bots can upload their memory into a different shell of a bot farther away. Example, you could set up outposts. Bots from the main base transfer their memory to other inactive robots at the outpost, at the outpost you could explore and then transfer the memory of the bots back to the original bots. I don't know if this would be super useful, I guess to make it preferable to just having an outpost with its own bots, you could make bot shells cheep and automatable (bot shells being what bots upload their memory into )
This is definitely interesting... I'm assuming requiring actual space for resources comes from having something like Minecrafts 'Create' mod? What's your end game look like? Will it be a more lose ending like Rimworld? Or will it be a standard ending like Factorio?
i like the idea, but the name "energium" seems a bit generic. maybe use uranium, hydrogen or coal to power bots? maybe the "food" will need to be processed like making hydrogen fuel cells or coke from coal. also i like the concept of bot specialization, but i would hesitate with giving them personalities or mood. that kinda defeats the whole "bot" idea, making them just metal humans.
