We've all heard stories from the KISS members. But THIS IS GRRRREAT!! At the end Bill mentions ACE'S bunker. When I was a little Kid My Mom worked for a Daycare center in CT. ACE & his wife brought their daughter Monique there. He used to pick her up in his Delorean & let us kids take turns sitting in it. One day a "GIANT" sized man came to pick up Monique the owner (who was probably a shade under 5ft tall) said she had never seen this guy before & needed ID & all that sh..stuff. It turned out to be Gene, they were recording at the Bunker.Gene was the only Member that didn't drink (so I was told). I've met ACE twice as a 6-7 yr old kid.

True, Gene never drank or did drugs. Women were his drug of choice.
No makeup, no KISS mystique. If you weren't alive in the '70's it's difficult to convey how big a deal KISS' secret identities were, it made them like real-life comic book characters.
You are right. It was a big deal . I remember when they were having a reveal video.
It was a good time then.
KISS is a good band.
It was the best time to be a fan, but I think it was the right time to take the makeup off.
It was real amazing! No bad before or since had that insane vibe, I’m from NY and they used to rehearse close by. I was too young to drive, but I knew people who saw them without it! They talked about that like winning the Lottery!!
My generation had slipknot. So i have some idea of how big hiding what they really looked like was.

RIP Gui. Bill, Neil and Joyce believed when no one else took them seriously. They really owe their whole career on the original crew.

Believe it or not. This is funny as hell. What I do know for a fact is; Paul is all about business. He is the most stressed out person I ever met in my life. On stage and in front of camera's. He plays a role. Behind closed doors. He flips the the fuck out. It's kinda scary. I'm sure Ace got the lecture of a lifetime.

When they toured outside the states he mixed up his guitars. Great picture of him with a flying v somewhere.

@Coogan Because that’s what Paul does. He is a disturbed person who builds himself up by tearing others down. Especially those who might get so,e of their well-deserved credit for his success (Aucoin, Delaney, Gene, Ace, Peter). Listen to his audiobook. Everyone is an idiot but Paul. He even knows how to fly a plane better than the pilot. You actually believe him when he says Mark St. John - a GUITAR INSTRUCTOR - didn’t know how to play the same thing twice? Paul is a sick, sick man.

I find it interesting, that back in the days. Kiss was broke. It's really cool to see where they came from. From the first day of Kiss, (fast forward), til today. I'm sure they have stories for days. This is a result of never giving up. They turned out to be the greatest band in the world. Influenced a lot of bands that made it big. Rock n Roll is in their veins. Gene helped out Van Halen. He got them going. Just saying. Now, 360 million dollars later. I think he's done very well.
@Fred Jaminson , well you have some of it right. However, Gene and I have met and talked about things. On more then one occasion. He is probably the the most humble person, I even have spoken to in my life. No one in that band, Is a loser
Saw Kiss 4 times from ‘75 to ‘78 and it was insane being there and seeing Kiss when they were at their raw best. The crowds were electric and people were passing gas literally throughout the show but the concert was so good that people did not get too upset

They had bugger all money at the time and nearly maxed our the credit card. It was Neil Bogart, Bill Aucoin and Sean Delaney that made it happen plus the persistence of the group. Like they toured everywhere and that's how they built their fan base.
The actress in New Zealand was an American named Leslie Ann Warren. The title of the movie she was filming was 'RACE FOR THE YANKEE ZEPHYR'

i'm surprised by the massive amount of photos the crew and people around casablanca had of unmasked kiss and how they kept them for themselves. Magazines would have payed a fortune for those pics, but the identity was kept secret for more then a decade and that's crazy.
i counted at least 34 different people took photos between family members guitar techs ex wives friends musicians studio tecnicians casablanca emloyees and crew members and i could name them all. And there were sure more i don't know, including a full Ace wedding party guests where they played without make up and were videotaped.
Who would dare kill the golden goose? And if Bill or Neil found out it was YOU who sold those pics? Your days of working in the industry were OVER.

The press has them too. Look at the number of people and cameras in the photo on the plane to Japan.
The magazines were completely in on the charade. They could regularly run an “expose” promising pictures of them unmasked, and then have a picture with a hand in the way, or turning their head, etc.

Ace is from Jendel and not earth. He has trouble adjusting to the gravity here. He said he was from space. You can see how his guitar smokes because he plays so fast he burns oxygen from earth.

Bill helped kiss out more than you know. He actually helped make them what they are today. He's done a lot more behind the scenes and you'll ever know
Bill was more responsible for KISS' success than KISS was... It nearly ruined him financially - but they broke big before he went broke. And the rest is KISStory...🤘🤘🤘🤘

I saw him use thta double cutaway les paul on a frehleys comet tour opening for iron maiden.
I think that was his original Les Paul which he had converted into a double cut, and later had painted black. Not sure why he did that to such an iconic guitar, but it looks awesome regardless.

I don't think that pic is of his studio in Connecticut. I think that pic is of his house before his big mansion purchase in Wilton, CT. The pic shown I believe is in his attic...where he and Sean wrote Rocket Ride...
I always wondered about that pic too. I’ve seen others where it’s from a different perspective and I don’t think it’s actually that low of a ceiling. It’s partially the way that photo is taken. I mean, if you think about it....with the reel to reel there you’d have to either be in a wheelchair or going around on your knees in there to do anything. I’m guessing you could stand, but not much else. Being 6’1” he also probably didn’t wear the platforms in there. Probably just a publicity photo shoot.
@@blindmelonstubbly Don’t know if it’s a “studio” or not, but some of that “equipment “ seems to be mounted into the wall....not just sitting on a shelf. Monitor speakers in the back. Certainly all the stuff you need. Either way it’s still a weird photo.

Not that I am aware of. I am not sure why these were recorded. I remembered hearing bits of them years ago so I tracked down them all and that is what you are listening to. If he recorded more I never heard it. Wish we could of had a book from Bill.

Sorry, but I lost all respect for Bill after hearing in Paul’s book how he molested a boy who won a contest to meet KISS.
