"THE ONLY SONG I SING THE FUCKING THING BREAKS DOWN!" Lol life of a drummer
LMAOOO
WAAH 🎉
“Nobody heard it but you Peter..you sang it great” Ace is the best!
Pissed myself laughing
Euan Elliott he said “nobody knew peter but you” as in nobody knew there was a problem and you did good
So cool of Ace to try to calm the situation. Cool guy for sure!
Shock Me! Make me feel better. Put on your black leather.
That's absolutely classic!
Remember when these 4 guys in face paint & costumes played on a small stage on The Midnight Special?
Yes, absolutely.
Yeah. I recorded on a cassette tape and me and my brother played it for everyone. As soon as the album came out we stole it. 😂. Then we played it at parties and turned half the Midwest on to KISS. They need to send us a check. 🤣
My favorite song😁
When Gene says oh fu%×$ is because he knew what it was coming next. You could even hear Gene saying I know I know to Peter's complains. Epic.
No, he said that because Peter’s mic cut out.
@@james---b I think it was both. Gene heard the mike cut out and he knew how Peter would react.
Tommy: filming
Paul: admiring himself in the mirror
Gene: counting all the receipts in the corner
Peter: comes backstage all pissed off because the mic cut out halfway through the song
Ace: sits back and enjoys all of it with a beer in his hand
That pretty much sums it up.
Hotel: Trivago
@@FrehleyFan3988 you know that Ace’s real name is “Paul”?
Ace don't give a crap because he's a paid employee now.....Peter is a paid employee because of his unprofessional temper tantrums
😂
Ace takes everything without a care in the world he just takes whatever happens and goes on with life doesn't stress anything.
yeah with a little help from his friends
I guess there was a day they were like real brothers. To bad they couldn't stay together. The original members had the magic! Rock on to Peter and Ace! Whenever I hear the old songs.....I know peter and Ace are there. They will always be a part of the group. They went into the Hall of Fame together. To me....they will always be together!
As a new kiss fan and obsessed with the behind the scenes footage, this was awesome!
Woww. I was born 3 months later and just saw ace perform on Saturday night🥲
I like that Ace is trying to cheer up Peter.
Just think how old these guys were when this was filmed and they were still doing it like heroes. This was over 25 years since their first record.
This is a fascinating perspective. I’d always assumed the guys resting during solos would be a little farther backstage, or at least with a little more comfortable accommodations. But the reality makes more sense.
It depending on where they were not all places they want too had rooms but most did
Ace to cameraman: Hear that mike cutting out?
Ace to Peter: Nobody knew but you Peter. you sang it great. haha
Funny thing is that's Tommy Thayer with the camera!
Ace was always the peace maker in the group.

This is one of my favourite KISS videos. It shows what their life was really like. Hours of this.
Peter was not happy with his 10K per gig and would use any excuse to rage. No wonder Gene/Paul were unwilling to give him equal share in '96 and for good reason
no, YEARS of this bullshit from Ace and Peter
I love this clip. I wish there were more like this. A lot of the behind the scenes candid stuff I see Paul pacing back and forth, Gene watching the show and/or crowd, Ace usually laying back cracking jokes, probably a few cocktails in, and Peter complaining about something haha I love these guys. Such a funny group of New Yorkers. All from different boroughs
He’s so calm,Welcome to masterpiece theater, I’ll be your host ace frehley

@fatarsemonkeyAce and Peter are still alive and well. Your fanfic is crafted by Paul and Gene.

I thought it happened after the sour note. Either way.
That was funny but now I know the lore and now I’m sad
Haha... Ace is hammered! "You hear that bastard's mic cutting out?"
He said, "Do you hear the Master mic's cutting out", meaning it was the main one Peter used for Beth.
You obviously never played any instrument. "Hammered" person CAN'T play. At all. Especialy not guitar.Or drums.Actualy NOTHING. No way. He can be just a little bit high, but not much. Otherwise, he can forget the gig....Only a singer can afford to get drunk, and again...not totaly....

The old Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford NJ. It's a shame it's no longer used for concerts. I've seen plenty of great concerts during its heyday.
john vonburg - Somehow that wouldn't surprise me. Being a lifetime N.J. resident, I know many things he did that are an embarrassment to the State. He even had a Senator's race pushed weeks before the November Governor/Senator/House election so people wouldn't vote for a Democrat Senator/House Representative and a Democrat Governor at the same time. That fat P.O.S. was in many ways more crooked than his predecessor, Jon Corzine. If Chris Christie died and went to hell, he couldn't go there because he's so fat, he'd plug the hole getting there and nobody else could enter.
This is great! Peter is pissed and Ace is lit up!

This makes me sad. They seemed to genuinely be getting along and in a good mood (for the most part). Would be awesome to see KISS the real KISS one more time. Gene is always the first one to acknowledge and run up to Peter in every backstage/rehearsal video. I really think they were a lot closer than they've lead on. Such a bummer
probably why they had the bad blood, you have to love someone before you can really hate them
@@mikeglazier5993 that’s so sad. If you watch the Kiss unplugged rehearsal, Gene yells “hey-a, Pete!” As he walks in.
I get a sense that they are like brothers, I know Ace said he and Gene talk all the time and Paul and Ace always seemed to be good friends and they still collaborate
would've been funny if when they walked out you hear Paul say "alright, where's the asshole with the laser?" lol
That's funny! They did that at every show and honestly I never understood why they added that more or less skit to the concert.
Lol. Good one.
No kidding. So it was just a ploy to look cool.
I went to a poison concert once and Brett micheals got in an argument with a fan, stopped the song, yelled and screamed and then Brett apologized and brought the fan and his pregnant wife up on stage to sit on the side of the stage as a way of saying I'm sorry, apparently they didn't that skit through most of the tour.
The real travesty in that story, is that you went to a Poison concert !
I was at that show ...actually forgot about that show !
Very enlightening footage, Peter seems a little too nervous, Ace seems too tired
,
it was no surprise that the band broke up! Even so, I still miss them together :(
Ace is hammered drunk
I love this backstage footage seeing them taking a brief break while Peter sings his solo song. It’s so amusing to hear their banter behind the scenes. This is how they really are! Four different guys from NYC but coming together as KISS which was like winning the lottery for them all especially Gene and Paul because they toured for 40 years plus. And the merchandise KISS sold was like Star Wars was practically! The only thing they missed was a KISS Theme Park surprisingly! They had everything else under the Sun! You could buy KISS Condom and KISS Coffins even. ⚰️ So they got you coming and going! 😂
The KISS Logo, Tshirts, Cups, Posters, Keychains, etc! This made all richer than Midas! Their Manager Aucoin really knew how to milk the KISS gravy train!
Like George Lucas once said, the Native Americans used every part of the Buffalo 🦬 or Bison 🦬 that they killed!
First, they thanked the Bison 🦬 for its sacrifice and as a friend. They had a ritual they did first.
Then they skinned it and used the Fur and Hide for clothes, gloves and shoes. Then they gutted it and cut up the meat. Cooked some of it and smoked the rest for long term use! Very smart! They wasted nothing! I like and agree with this philosophy and approach. I despise waste!
What’s the old saying?
Waste not, want not!
I agree completely. 😊
Such cool footage!
I pissed myself laughing when Gene said "Oh, fuck" at the start.

1m 47s -- Gene tries to calm Peter down when Peter walks backstage to complain about the microphone/audio screwing up at the beginning of the song...
Robert W - so who is the professional?
Thanks for the question, but I'm not about to take sides. Whilst I am not the hugest Kiss fan around, there is no doubt about their professional accomplishments as a band. Kudos to Gene and Paul for staging a successful comeback and re-invention of Kiss after the slump that followed their heyday circa the _Dynasty_ album. I would agree that Gene and Paul would become angry at Peter and Ace for their disruptive lifestyle or whatever other issues they faced as individuals. I'd say plenty of bands and band members have faced similar problems. It's always nice to see them getting along, however.
Fair comment. Thanks for the input. Ace is pretty special. He was an integral part of the Kiss mystique, the 'Kisstory' machine, and Kiss history overall...
@john vonburg From the recording sessions for "The Elder" and the songwriting & pre~production sessions for "Creatures Of The Night", Ace was hitting the substances (alcohol & valium) real hard. He couldn't make it from his home, 40 miles away in Connecticut, into downtown NYC, or Toronto to be personally involved in the creation and recording of "The Elder". He enjoyed getting buzzed at home to the point he was rarely leaving his comfy place, even for business and/or social pleasure. ACE was a intoxicated no-show for filmed promo performances beamed via satellite to Europe. This was promotional work in support of "The Elder". KISS went on to complete the television spots as a trio, Stanley, Simmons, Carr. Early 1982, Ace was charged with impaired driving. Six weeks later Ace nearly lost his life. One night after hanging out with friends, visiting various local watering holes and drinking all evening, Ace took valium before driving home. Driving at a high rate of speed up a one way street, Ace crashed and totally destroyed his DeLorean sports car. Lucky he didn't kill anyone who also may have been on the roads that night, lucky to have sustained only minor upper and lower body injuries. He was charged with various felony charges. This seemed to be a turning point for Ace. Unable to contribute to any of the writing or recording of "Creatures Of The Night" LP, due to the crash and it's after effects, the band really wanted Ace to continue as a member of KISS. Upon hearing the tracks the band came up with for the Creatures album, Ace was thrilled to have the band back performing the hard rock/metal music that he thought should've remained their focus all along. ACE participated in the U.S. promotional tour, clean and sober, making visits in full costume to T.V. & Radio stations in all the biggest markets. When the promo tour moved over to the U.K. Ace realized there was no way he could complete a full KISS tour without his personal demons threatening his life, telling Paul, "If I try to complete this tour, it'll kill me". ACE was man enough to step up and take care of himself and his health. ACE showed what true bravery is, when he stepped off the wild circus ride that had become the KISS rock and roll lifestyle. Kudos ACE!!
