@@33neptun As much as I love both Ace and Tommy, yes he was most likely drunk, I've read Paul's book and he talked about how Ace was for the last 2 years he was in the band. You can be drunk and play guitar, you will probably mess it up though.

This is a fascinating perspective. I’d always assumed the guys resting during solos would be a little farther backstage, or at least with a little more comfortable accommodations. But the reality makes more sense.

I love this clip. I wish there were more like this. A lot of the behind the scenes candid stuff I see Paul pacing back and forth, Gene watching the show and/or crowd, Ace usually laying back cracking jokes, probably a few cocktails in, and Peter complaining about something haha I love these guys. Such a funny group of New Yorkers. All from different boroughs
Just think how old these guys were when this was filmed and they were still doing it like heroes. This was over 25 years since their first record.

This makes me sad. They seemed to genuinely be getting along and in a good mood (for the most part). Would be awesome to see KISS the real KISS one more time. Gene is always the first one to acknowledge and run up to Peter in every backstage/rehearsal video. I really think they were a lot closer than they've lead on. Such a bummer

The old Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford NJ. It's a shame it's no longer used for concerts. I've seen plenty of great concerts during its heyday.
john vonburg - Somehow that wouldn't surprise me. Being a lifetime N.J. resident, I know many things he did that are an embarrassment to the State. He even had a Senator's race pushed weeks before the November Governor/Senator/House election so people wouldn't vote for a Democrat Senator/House Representative and a Democrat Governor at the same time. That fat P.O.S. was in many ways more crooked than his predecessor, Jon Corzine. If Chris Christie died and went to hell, he couldn't go there because he's so fat, he'd plug the hole getting there and nobody else could enter.

I went to a poison concert once and Brett micheals got in an argument with a fan, stopped the song, yelled and screamed and then Brett apologized and brought the fan and his pregnant wife up on stage to sit on the side of the stage as a way of saying I'm sorry, apparently they didn't that skit through most of the tour.
The real travesty in that story, is that you went to a Poison concert !
Crazy how Peter Criss sang their biggest hit. No wonder why the others hate him.
And Ace had far and away the biggest hit from the solo albums with "New York Groove". Must eat Paul and Gene up when they think about it.
Beth was co-written by Peter Criss and guitarist Stan Penridge before Criss joined Kiss, while he and Penridge were members of Chelsea. It is unfortunate that Paul Stanley has chosen to denigrate the substantial contributions made by Peter Criss and Ace Frehley to the success of Kiss.
Paul is a great guitar player, but a creep as a human being. He always put Ace down, saying he wasn't as great a guitar player as everyone made himself out to be. Granted, the booze and drugs caught up to him. But if you watch a KISS concert filmed from January 1977 (the Rock N Roll Over) concert in Detroit Michigan here on UA-cam, Ace owned the stage. Just look at the history of KISS. There's absolutely nobody that was inspired to start playing guitar by anyone in KISS, apart from Ace. Even Tommy Thayer couldn't inspire a dog to learn a new trick.
Yeah - and without Gene and Paul he ends up wasted and broke. Nice little tempter tantrum from the entitled prick.
