- First clip is of my exhaust. Truck is a 93 F250 with 460 V8 (7.5L). Muffler is a Thrush welded 3in/dual 2.5 out with 24 inch echo tips.
Second clips shows what a huge difference a tune up with MSD wires, cap/rotor, and new spark plugs can make with this exhaust. Also timing is set to 13 BTDC. - Авто та транспорт
0-60 in around 7.5 seconds. Very quick for being near stock!
Less than that, that was more like 6.5
@@logansankey6656 yeah, thats what i got
Theres more to life than gas mileage. Attention Prius owners. This is actual POWER
I have both ha ha prius and 92 460. Save in one to fund the other
Very impressed with the 0 to 80. Wish my 460 would do that.
That trucks a F'ING rocket ship!!! I'm looking to purchase a rust free 97 with 460 this weekend. This may have sold me! Damn man that's quick
dude i watched your fuel gage go down hahaha
Yeah, the 460 can get a little thirsty, but that specific tank fluctuates all the time.
yea thats true my 95 dodge has the 8L v10 and its painful to fill up
If you look at where it was hovering at at idle it seems like the sloshed enough to read a false full on the gauge. Doubt he used almost half a tank in one pass, haha.
Yea thats the truth. My 460 gets 7 to 9 mpg😂
Yeah it also went straight to full when he launched, it did use a little bit but not as much as it appears.
That said 460’s are thirsty, mines getting in the 6-7 ballpark but it also needs some valve seals
That thing is jamming down the road, holy smokes.
Cool truck! I really love these old 460's, the few that I've driven had enormous amounts of torque right on tap. I got 7.3 seconds 0-60 on your truck which is VERY impressive for a truck of this vintage. I've got a 2011 F-150 FX4 Supercab with the coyote 5.0L V8 and my best time is 6.7 seconds, to think this nearly 30 year old truck could keep up with mine is crazy! My first truck was a well taken care of 1990 F-150 XLT Lariat with a 302 V8 and my best 0-60 in it was around 10 seconds.
The older 460s have some where around 360 horsepower and 485 torque I believe my dad swapped one in mustang and with stock motor and the car guted it deep wheelies and would trust the body in the air
@@colbygaming6664 Yeah those 1968-1971 460's were monsters. After the smog laws went into effect in 1972 those numbers dropped down to 212hp and 342lb/ft of torque. If I remember correctly, around the time this truck was made they were up to about 250hp and 400lb/ft of torque with fuel injection and all that. They are great engines for sure. Ton's of torque!
Good lord I did not know 460s were suppose to be that fast. My 460 has compression issues so this is something to look forward to after I fix it.
Do a hot soak with it
shit son that's fast! I got a 90 F350 crew cab long box lifted manual lifted on 35s with the 460. Mine needs a tune up for sure!!
She hauls nice truck good work
Jesus that thing pulls
Drankin gas and haulin azz....ford 460 gotta love it.....
damn she rolls out good for an old truck
Anyone else watch the gas guage go down? Lol
Dammit boy look at that gas hand 😂😂
Did this have the stock manifolds and y pipe or did it have a full exhaust?
I saw the gas gauge move quite a bit after that run!
What part number did you use? I can not find a thrush welded with the specs you gave. Sounds amazing have a 93 myself and looking for the sound you have
Man, that accelerates so fast, it doesn't seem possible..... and a SOFT launch, too!
May not make a lot of mpgs but it sure as hell will get you up any steep hill coasting no problem
Sounds mean!
I'm impressed. Just picked up my first 460. 94 F350 XLT Longbed, bone freakin stock for $10k. Can't wait to make it perform like yours. Care to share your mod/upgrade list?
Wath its the final gear?
What gearing?
I just bought a 1988 f350, damn thing is a pig but boy will it haul ass. Funny thing is, it will hold up to any 7.3. But the 8 mpg sux
Thank the lord for the big block Ford
I’ve got a 89 F250 with the 460, 5 speed with factory 4.11 gears. If I’m on my game shifting I’ve had a buddy time it at 6.8. But I can’t do much over 100. Run out of gear.
nine generation last year of V8 460 police interceptor
Are you going down hill? Look at the gas gauge
Nice truck, any serious work done or just simple bolt-ons?
Mr Backwoods just simple bolt ons. It has a trans-go shift kit and high output pump. Opening up the exhaust and bumping the timing up really made a huge difference. It's also a one-owner truck that has been pretty well cared for too.
Renegade Medic I have a good running 460 in my 91 Xcab 250. It pulls like a locomotive thru 2nd&3rd(5spd), but yours is like a spaceship lol.
Roger Dean, how many degrees did you advance your timing?
Can the timing be advanced on a 96 or 97 460?
@@cwthames he said 13° btdc stock a 460 efi is 10° btdc so 3° advance
4.10 gears or 3.55?
Did anyone else see the gas guage
Does it have cats on it???
Mark Dickens Maybe.... it has a cat case, for sure....
@@rogerdean4842 I see what you did there. ;)
@@nathanmcdonald610 maybe...
Not much horsepower but a lot of torque
1000 likes 460 interceptor engine
Pretty fuckin much.
Fuel left faster than my ex girlfriend
$20 right there
That is not factory. There is no way in hell.
Yeah pretty much man. Dual exhaust and shift kit woke this truck up.
Roger Dean I just ran a true dual exhaust on my 96 F250 today. Guess I need to look into a shift kit after my coolant leak situation is fixed 👍
@@rogerdean4842 Hey man do you still have the cats? Thanks I have a 89 f350 460 4spd
Real trucks don't wear bow ties
