Just disconnected my battery to add a new part in today than when I hooked it back up my dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Tried this and it it worked first try. Thank you so much man
Omgggg you saved me a trip to my local Honda dealership. I had my battery replaced and no one shocking didn’t know what to do at Advanced Auto. Thank you so much 😊
I am currently having this issue with my 2019 Honda civic and it’s been at the dealer for 3 months. They have changed my valve timing control actuator abs control module and the module computer and after 10 minutes the same warnings came back. I noticed also my car feels boggy when shifting from 1st gear 😓 only when these lights are on
It came back up. It worked for a day but it won’t clear this time. I still appreciate your help. I’ll post back if I ever get an answer as to what is going wrong.
This worked for me after changing the brake fluid on my Si today. I needed to reboot 2 times the first one fixed the "check engine" becuase I put the switch on with the mass sensor disconnected, and the second time fixed the "brake system error" for bleeding the brakes
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! This prevented me from having my car towed to the dealership and spending a fortune on crazy ass lights that were coming on for no reason lol
Wow it worked! In my 2015 EX I had to go into settings, system, and do factory data reset. Not sure if needed it twice but I did it once, drove a few miles, didn't go away. Did it again, drove about 20 miles, gone on the next start-up. Fingers crossed it stays away!
I wish. Should be. Just like how my screen flickers. Should be a recall too! Got it changed under warranty at only 37,000. Flickering on and off occasionally and then just died. All controls and options even heating! So dealership tried everything and had to replace it. $2200 repair bill, expensive unit! So then at 110,000 km it starts flickering again, the new OEM unit! Shit. Dealership says warranty over, sorry. So now I am chasing Honda Canada to replace it. Not fair. Damn thing should last life of car. Faulty Chinese electronics. Should be a recall!
@@tragiicbando3321 me too. Bro, if it's a 22 get that shit replaced fast before your warranty runs out! They will not replace it after and it's a $2200 CAD replace job. I had a war with Honda Canada cust service and kept telling me sorry warranty over. I pleaded this vital and expensive part SHOULDN'T GO. It controls everything. If it was a cheap part no problem. Anyway I threaten never to buy a Honda again as the quality is not the same as the old amazing product. They finally said they're going to forward it to a special team that's going to help me out. I was hopeful but it took months for them to reply and then finally they told me the same shit. I replied back telling them that I'm a loyal Honda customer and if you don't do something about this, I will never buy a Honda again because it is crap using inferior products unlike before the cars would last millions of kilometers. My steering wheel also wore out prematurely cheap plastic rubber loosening from the metal frame and wearing out on the outside with only 100,000 km.
Amazing video. Although resetting it didn’t turn off every light it turned off a few. But then lifting my hood up and checking my battery connectors I noticed my positive(red) wasn’t on correctly and got a different screw for it, so now it can fully tighten around the battery connector itself. After doing that I drove around my block once and all lights turned off!! Maybe this will help anyone that’s still in trouble with there lights on after resetting it.
What year is your car because there is a recall on the 2016 Honda Civics for brake problems and I'm sure it's on other years too but u can look ur car up on Honda recalls by Vin number and see if it has any recalls on it and go from there to get it fixed
Ok I think I’d take the time to comment on this. I have a 2016 Honda civic. I tried everything on this video. It worked initially but eventually failed and the warnings lights came back relentlessly. So I didn’t know but you can take your car to autozone for a free scan. Did that and two error codes came up one for my right front passenger wheel sensor was failing. Second was for the air flow tube intake. Anyways long story short I took the car to the mechanic and he said the front right tire sensor was fine and nothing was wrong with it. However when he checked the air flow tube intake it was torn as in worn out. The part itself is about $25-$30. Part # 17225-5AA-A00. Might be a diff part # for each year. The mechanic charged me about $30 in labor. It’s been two days and the warning lights have not came on. Hopefully it fixed the issue. Maybe this will help someone else. Good luck guys. The author of this video did mention he changed something in his air filter I believe and it caused these lights to come on.
@@garcia5328 Yes, so it was actually a serious problem. My oil light came on a few days prior and I put some (small bit) extra oil in the engine as I did with my old cars. But apparently with these new engines you never put extra oil in. So it overfilled and the engine kept misfiring, not being able to drive very fast. It also needed an oil change too so that didn't help. All serviced and sorted now thankfully, no damage done. 😌 Warning lights only showed up 2 days after...
THIS WORKS!!! Thank you so much. Very stressful when all the warning lights come on at once. 2018 CRV. I tried rebooting while parked, engine running, but it did nothing. Rebooting in Accessory Mode was the key! Hopefully the lights will behave for awhile. Fingers crossed.
Wow I have a 2018 civic, car had a slow start it was like battery was dying. Alternator is new, starter new. Went to Autozone got battery recharged it turned out it was bad so under warranty I got a new one. Installed new battery and all these warning lights came on. I did this on the video and it worked!!! System reset all lights gone. Thank you so much for the video!!!!!
Just had this issue on my 2018 Acura MDX a few minutes ago. Here's what I did to fix. 1. Remove your foot off the brake pedal 2. push the Start button and count 5(5 secs). Then push the Start button the second time and count to 10 (10secs). At this time, put your foot on the gas pedal for 30 secs (just count 30). Now, push the Start button to turn the ignition off. Finally, match the brake pedal and hit Start button and the car starts and the codes are cleared. Sometimes you might have just 2 codes left but within seconds they clear off.
@@geefamz7172 Just a quck update on this. Even though my car has been running ok since the last incident, I was concerned about this happening on Acura and Honda vehicles. I posted on the MDXers (Acura MDX owners) forum and somebody swore that this is almost always related to battery problem. I did an OBD2 scan on my vehicle and it returns this code: P0356 Stored code: No.3 Cylinder Exhaust Side Ignition Coil Circuit Malfunction No. 6 Cylinder Ignition Coil Circuit However, I was advised at MDXER not to replace the ignition coil but instead, goto O'Reilly Auto Shop and have them check on the battery first as BAD battery throws all kinds of codes and errors....leading you to spending money you dont have to. Even though my OEM battery was only 2yrs old, I had O'Reilly check my battery and the voltmeter reported my battery as BAD. I will be replacing my battery and will update you guys soon. Before you run off spending money unnecessarily, get your battery checked, even if it is relatively new. I still can't believe my battery got bad this quick which was the reason I did not want to get aftermarket battery in the first place.
Perfect video…… so good that when it got to the part of how to do the reset I ran out to the car to get ready to do it… tried a regular crank first and this finnicky ass Honda is back to normal only the seat belt light 👌 I will definitely return to this video if it comes back, I think it happened from getting a new battery but that was days before 🤷♂️
How do you hard reset if you don’t have the touch screen interface my car has the same warning lights but I can’t seem to find anywhere to hard reset it ?
Thank you soo much I was driving in the freeway when all the lights came on I was so scared it might stuck me on the freeway anyway I did what you have to do and now all the lights are gone thanx soo much you save me a trip to the dealer that will cost me hundreds of dollar
Great video, thank you. Seems to be a common problem looking at all the replies. I had this problem today, very warm day, very humid. I think the same thing can happen just from a very humid atmosphere. In my case a simple restart did the trick.
I had the same issue, I ended up removing and reattaching on of my car battery terminal. It fixed the issue. Thanks for this, I’ll try this if it happens again!
Dude this just happened to me today. Im on the highway, perfectly fine. Then all of a sudden all the lights came on and my car didn’t pass 45mph. On the highway!!! I immediately had to pull over. So now I’ve brought it back home. I’m going to try this out tomorrow and update!!!

I am having this issue with my 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport. All 10 errors come up and when I try and drive it the power steering does not work. Any suggestions because the dealership can’t get me in for a week? I also just have the regular radio
Had the same problem with my 2018 CRV after changing air filter. First time just two warning lights. Just stopped turn car off and on and they cleared. Today all warning lights came on. In my case I reset the system about 5 time for one warming to clear, then I rebooted again and they all disappeared. Don't know how long things will stay normal, but everything is cleared for now. I'll be canceling my service appointment. Than You VERY MUCH!!!
The reboot happened for my '18 Type R but it didn't get rid of the warning in the dash even though the ignition coil has been changed and the car is running great. Did the reboot twice and also took it for a drive. Time to disconnect the battery, it would seem. Thanks for the video though! Still good to know :)
@@spencermeierarend7884 I didn't figure it out but I bought an OBD2 reader for $85 and it was able to reset things for me. Super handy tool to have. Saves going to a mechanic to have them use theirs on your vehicle any time there's an issue.

Have you had any more problems with the warning lights coming back on again or no not at all cause I replaced the wheel bearing on my daughter's car and then the warning lights came on but I got them off by doing the resets and battery and then I drove it about a mile and then shut it down and then restarted it and they went off and so far they still haven't came back on but my daughter told me that they came on the other day and then she drove it home and they was out by the time she got home so just wondering what caused them to come on to begin with and what is the problem and does something need fixed so it doesn't mess anything else up on the car. So here's my story. I got one of the first 2016 10th gens out there in late 2015. A couple of weeks ago, I got a new battery. This morning, you guessed it, all the trouble lights paid me a visit. I looked at/tried most of the comments with no luck. Rebooting the radio didn't work. Finally, as per one of the comments, I took off the negative battery terminal and cleaned the cable and the terminal. Reconnected it, started the car, waited while it reinitialized and bickety-bam! those stupid warning indicators went away. I was happy. Time will tell if they come back. BTW, after the trouble lights 1st came on, I drove it 40 miles from work to home with no power loss.

Dude how??? I have a 2020 si and after I replace the clutch the battery was unplugged for a few days and every single lot in the vehicle is on now and no power steering.
Just disconnected my battery to add a new part in today than when I hooked it back up my dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Tried this and it it worked first try. Thank you so much man
Nice 🤙
@@geefamz7172how do I do it on a tlx ?
Bro thank you. My battery died cuz I didn’t use the car for 3 months n all these warnings came but this helped! Clear all of em thanks!
You’re welcome and I’m glad it helped.
Thank so much! I have been having this problem for two days. Came to UA-cam. I appreciate it so much, ty.

Omgggg you saved me a trip to my local Honda dealership. I had my battery replaced and no one shocking didn’t know what to do at Advanced Auto. Thank you so much 😊

This is exactly how it happened for me!
@@geefamz7172 do you know how to fix this problem with a key start
I am currently having this issue with my 2019 Honda civic and it’s been at the dealer for 3 months. They have changed my valve timing control actuator abs control module and the module computer and after 10 minutes the same warnings came back. I noticed also my car feels boggy when shifting from 1st gear 😓 only when these lights are on
Thank you very much. Change the battery in my car and every single light came on. This reset fixed everything. Cheers 🍻
Im glad it helped! 🤙
Did the lights ever come back on?
You’re a life saver. My 2018 SI started doing this. I had to reboot mine twice but it did work in the end. Thank you.
I'm glad it helped
It came back up. It worked for a day but it won’t clear this time. I still appreciate your help. I’ll post back if I ever get an answer as to what is going wrong.
Do you have any problems yet !? @J K
This worked for me after changing the brake fluid on my Si today. I needed to reboot 2 times the first one fixed the "check engine" becuase I put the switch on with the mass sensor disconnected, and the second time fixed the "brake system error" for bleeding the brakes
@@JK-bx5fg did you find out what it was
Thank you, it worked for me!!! 2020 Honda Civic EX. A different screen so all you do is hold down the radio on and off toggle.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! This prevented me from having my car towed to the dealership and spending a fortune on crazy ass lights that were coming on for no reason lol
Awesome! I’m glad it helped! 🤙
Today I got the same problem with my Odyssey touring 2019 and I followed your way and guess what ? IT WORKED BOOOSSSS
Awesome 🤙
Wow it worked! In my 2015 EX I had to go into settings, system, and do factory data reset. Not sure if needed it twice but I did it once, drove a few miles, didn't go away. Did it again, drove about 20 miles, gone on the next start-up. Fingers crossed it stays away!
Awesome 🤙
HONDA SAYS THIS IS NOT A KNOWN ISSUE AND NO RECALLS AVAILABLE!! Seems like it’s a common issue and they don’t want to deal with it.
I agree
What has to be done to make it a recall or I wonder if it can be turned into a class action lawsuit
I wish.
This is happening to my 22 si and it’s driving me nuts
Thank you so much!!! My bf did my oil change yesterday and I was freaking out that he may have broke something!! Bless you 😇 worked for my CRV
I’m glad it helped. 😊
Thank you so much, been scratching my head on how to fix this problem and it worked! Thanks again!
Glad it helped!
Thats a good point. Thanks
I’m getting a parking brake problem and the parking brake sometimes takes a couple times to disengage :/
What year is your car because there is a recall on the 2016 Honda Civics for brake problems and I'm sure it's on other years too but u can look ur car up on Honda recalls by Vin number and see if it has any recalls on it and go from there to get it fixed
This worked for me. Cheers mate!
@@EgVetsje missing my Honda everyday 🥺
Thank you very much for taking the time to do this video, it helped fixed the exact same issue I was having.
Awesome 😊
Good to know
i just reset my head unit and sudden all the lights in my dashboard turned ON. i tried your procedure twice and it works. thanks you
Glad it helped
Might not work right away, but it definitely works. After doing the reset the lights where still on but they went off after a few minutes of driving.!
yeah,it didnt work on my car!so it will gone after driving for a while of u?
Just rebooted mine, all lights are still showing 😢
@@phiphi01 did you ever figure it out ?
@@garcia5328 Yes, so it was actually a serious problem.
My oil light came on a few days prior and I put some (small bit) extra oil in the engine as I did with my old cars. But apparently with these new engines you never put extra oil in. So it overfilled and the engine kept misfiring, not being able to drive very fast. It also needed an oil change too so that didn't help.
All serviced and sorted now thankfully, no damage done. 😌
Warning lights only showed up 2 days after...
Awesome!! It worked but my 2019 does not have a "Power" button on the display so I had to hold the radio power down and it worked. Thank you.

Im glad it helped 😊
Wow I have a 2018 civic, car had a slow start it was like battery was dying. Alternator is new, starter new. Went to Autozone got battery recharged it turned out it was bad so under warranty I got a new one. Installed new battery and all these warning lights came on.
I did this on the video and it worked!!! System reset all lights gone. Thank you so much for the video!!!!!

Thanks bro for this video! It worked for my civic 1.8 E-2017 model. 😊😊😊

Just had this issue on my 2018 Acura MDX a few minutes ago. Here's what I did to fix.
1. Remove your foot off the brake pedal
2. push the Start button and count 5(5 secs).
Thats good to know. Thanks
@@geefamz7172 Just a quck update on this. Even though my car has been running ok since the last incident, I was concerned about this happening on Acura and Honda vehicles. I posted on the MDXers (Acura MDX owners) forum and somebody swore that this is almost always related to battery problem. I did an OBD2 scan on my vehicle and it returns this code:
P0356 Stored code:
No.3 Cylinder Exhaust Side Ignition Coil Circuit Malfunction
No. 6 Cylinder Ignition Coil Circuit
However, I was advised at MDXER not to replace the ignition coil but instead, goto O'Reilly Auto Shop and have them check on the battery first as BAD battery throws all kinds of codes and errors....leading you to spending money you dont have to.
Thank you so much they were going to charge me 250 dollars to put it on a machine!! I love you!!!!
It worked on my Honda CR-V EX-L 2020. You are the only one with the solution on UA-cam. Thank you so much.

Disconnect your battery for 2 min.
Wow! thats good to know! Awesome 😊
By reset 5 times you mean resetting the computer like he did in the video? Or restarting the car 5 times?
The reboot happened for my '18 Type R but it didn't get rid of the warning in the dash even though the ignition coil has been changed and the car is running great. Did the reboot twice and also took it for a drive. Time to disconnect the battery, it would seem. Thanks for the video though! Still good to know :)
Did you ever figure it out. I'm in the same position as you
@@spencermeierarend7884 I didn't figure it out but I bought an OBD2 reader for $85 and it was able to reset things for me. Super handy tool to have. Saves going to a mechanic to have them use theirs on your vehicle any time there's an issue.
@@teddy21 So the tool fixed it?
@@teddy21 so was it resolved? Or did you have to get it checked out eventually?
@@DFDubsports Yes, the ODB2 reader was able to erase the code. I changed the ignition coil myself and after erasing the warning code with the ODB2 reader it's never come back on again and I've never had to see a mechanic about it as it's resolved.

Great Video! I have a civic 2017 1.5T and I had the same issue that I got multiple dashboard warning lights. I tried your method but it didn't work for me.
I have exactly what you have right now, the reset didn't work. I am gonna try the battery trick tomorrow however I can't press my gas peddle down like its stiff, which makes it like I can't start the car's ignition... Did you have this problem alongside the others?
