So good u should think about adding post fx to really mangle drums like pioneer rmx or wavepad...beat repeats, filtering, delays added manually on the fly to taste...best use of hapax I've seen so far well done u
I have used the Deluge to sequence my RYTM mk1, because I could see what was happening better, but I went back to the RYTM sequencer because of gradual quantization. Now the Deluge has gradual quantization. Also in the Deluge there's no track limit so can have the full 12 RYTM tracks in one place. Also deluge has unlimited bar length per pattern.
Don't think you need RYTM seqeuncer running (doesn't need to receive clock or transport) unless you are using seqencer info on the RYTM. You are basically using the RYTM as a drum synth with all Data and the time it happens being controlled by the Hapax.
Great video, dumb question: are all of the drum voices on a single track on the Hapax? In other words, are there still 7 or 13 or whatever open tracks for melody, bass, etc?
curious..so why would someone not sequence on the OT or other elektron device versus Hapax ? Also the per trig mods will stay attached to the trig versus "floating" on the hapax ?
He mentions that you can visualise drum patterns in context on the Hapax (or at least see 8 tracks instead of just one on the Rytm - or pretty much any other drum machine). But I guess the real benefit is that you can use the Hapax as the central "brain" to control multiple instruments (Elektron or other) with a consistent workflow. Of course you could use any of the elektron boxes to do the same, but the Hapax is just more capable in that role. The possibilitie to visualise patterns becomes more important with melodic content for instance, while polyphony always remains a workaround on the Elektron machines. I'd look at the Elektron boxes as instruments with a very performable, near perfect sequencer while the Hapax is more like a DAW in a box.
Hapax doesn’t work by time signatures but by total number of steps. With 16th note resolution, a time signature of 4/4 would be a length of 16 steps. You can have between 2 and 64 steps per track at anywhere between 50-200% the tempo. The grid can be zoomed in for more detailed programming at greater subdivisions.
did the firmware not support drum tracks at this point? trying to understand the use of the harmonizer effects and wonder if it accomplishes the same end as drum tracks in this case
I was using the harmonizer to repitch the drum tracks to the necessary range for triggering the AR voices~ Hope this clarifies things. There might be a better way to do it; if so, do let me know!
Good tutorial , love the recording feature you walked though.
That really is very cool, getting so much more from the AR.
Just ordered an OCI one, hope I didn’t pick the wrong box!

Hi man this is dope expands the Rytm to new levels! Can you control all Rytm tracks simultaneously ? Or is there a limit?
Amazing man, this was so good 😊
Can the tempo divisions on the hapax be modulated by the LFO?
I do not think so : / But you can modulate the tempo via MaxMSP (or other similar software) quite easily.
Epic
hapax is definitely an alternative to push+live.

8 per track, using drum mode
~5:20 I duplicate the track and then phase the lengths of the two layered tracks and then play with transposition

hi i am want take syntakt+digttakt with hapax because i have no rytmmk2 what you think about this combination for drum setting
i think that should be a great combination. all the same principles as shown in this video would apply to any piece of elektron gear.
Can your patterns be in any time signature? Or do you only get rigid options 4/4 etc.

Is there any website for downlading analog rytm and other synths definition files?
The squarp forums have definition files listed for most pieces of gear.
