There ARE times a mason can and will lay a brick or block and thru experience or just shear luck it will be perfect. It does happen and it happens all the time,however, laying 6 courses of brick and NOT checking for plumd,level or height is wrong unless it just doesn't matter what the work looks like. Granted, the fellow does have experience but to the point of arrogance. Hint: His level was at the other end by the lead. Which means he wasn't using it. So like I said, he couldn't check for plumb,level or range and again never measured for height. Not unless they plan on plastering the wall that's just wrong. Bottom line, sloppy work. In masonry there's no such thing as "that's good enough" unless it's perfect.

If you don't want to be the best at something then you're just in it for the money. Not only is that ALL you'll ever get out of it then your work will never be anything but mediocre and definitely nothing to brag about.

It wasn’t properly leveled/plumb … so yeah there was something wrong lol He’s clearly got the experience but he’s just eyeballing it… he didn’t even check to see if the corner is perfectly flat with the other corner… idk what kind of house they’re building but adding more mortar onto a brick to compensate your mistake will be noticeable in the long run if you keep repeating those mistakes… I don’t see any strings and just a level stick… I wonder how they check the height/level of the bricks from corner to corner or if they’re just winging it and think because the bricks are mostly straight it’s good enough
@@carlosf9278It is blatently obvious you aint a bricklayer, you check the guage(height) with a tape, 4 to 300 is uk standard for 65mm bricks and if you cant put 5course on a corner without F'in about like a tit then you need to go back to the training school that taught you! Dilutee school!😎🤣🤣🖕

It’s all highly skilled to do right. Just because someone doesn’t want to use profiles doesn’t make them any more skilled it just means they don’t produce as much.

I've watched my dad do same but after 40 yrs of doing same thing everyday it's just that eye & experience ,& have been told by countless bricklayer him & his mate were best they'd ever seen by the way why the laughter can you do it
The tender piles brick on wall, how about setting up scaffold planks on the outside with block to get right height and use brick tongs as you can bring cube of brick right behind him and place mortar boards on planks and have 3 masons to brick wall, to be a good mason you have to be a good tender
Its quicker and when the brick gets plastered you dont see the offset. A few layers in each corner square it off then go thru the lengths. Quick and efficient. Gold star

Profiles are for anyone to build with no experience, build a corner old school shows that you got taught properly and you don’t need stabilisers like a chancer builder, yes there quicker but much rather build old school cause a lot of people now can’t
And stacking that many courses on top that fast is dumb because the mortar gets squeezed out...if you wait a bit it starts setting quick and won't do that. Idk tho

It's about speed, some brickies build corners up and some use profiles where ya don't need to build corners
He’s not gauging the courses. If that corner is 4ft 1in 3/4 and the other is 4ft 1in. Your out of level 3/4 of a inch. That’s why profiles are better.
