He’s undeniably skilled as a barber, and he probably asked if it was fine to smoke next to him.
But IDK... I’ve lived with smokers half my life and it is really disgusting.

If you died TODAY, where would you be spending eternity? Have all your sins been forgiven or are you still hoping that you're a good enough person to earn a spot in heaven.
The reality is that no one can earn a spot, our sin disqualifies us. But the God news is that Jesus paid for our qualification by dying on our behalf taking the punishment that we deserved.
JESUS said, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son; that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
Nothing is more important than your eternal destination. Please, don't say, "When I get older I'll get right with God' or 'I'll get serious with Jesus one day when I'm ready.'
Don't wait any longer, today is the day of salvation. Get right with God today, for tomorrow very well might be too late.
We invite you to REPENT and accept that Jesus Christ is Lord of your life by praying this simple prayer out loud right now...
'Heavenly Father, I turn away from my old life and repent for my sins. I believe that Jesus came for me, that Jesus died for me and that Jesus rose again for me so that I can be forgiven and receive eternal life. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, receive the gift of eternal life. Most of the barbers in Syria are this good especially the ones who have been in the profession for a while, and it's because people used to teach it to their kids as a profession from a young age(not as much as it used to), and the other reason is that they get a lot of practice, cus it's cheap and its a habit for all men to visit the barber at least once a month

I've watched this a few times now in an attempt to fully understand and verbalise why it impresses me so much. It isn't the obvious friendliness and sheer technical talent on display, even though both of those things are amazing in their own right. It's the lack of attempted exploitation of the customer, the assumption that certain elements of the service are expected and included. Like, the barber reflexively washes his hair near the end. Walk into nearly any Western European salon, and that's an additional upcharge right there. Here, it's unquestioningly accepted as part of the process of making the customer look and feel a million bucks when they leave the premises. There's a lot of heart and implicit love behind it, and I think it reminds those of us watching it how much the pursuit of endless profit and nickel-and-diming everyone in sight has leached the power of human kindness out of our everyday interactions. Much love to all ❤

However when that happened we'd just go to the mosque at the end of the street and wait for her there, and she'd appear in 5-10 minutes to pick us up. While I was in the Army I got hair cuts in W. Germany, W. Berlin, Korea, Japan and of course on bases all over the U.S. The best ones were the ones I got over seas. You get a cut to Army standards, a excellent shave, mustache trim, eye brows and ears trimmed and waxed. There were manicures, back massages and a final application of cologne before they popped your shoulders. If you were in uniform they'd polish your boots to an unbelievable shine even if they were you field boots that have taken a beating. Now, decades later, I get a cut once every 3 weeks sadly it's just a trim that costs $25. This video was a pleasant memory. Thank you.

I remember having Turkish barbers on base in Iraq back in the aughts. $5 was the cost of exactly this treatment. They offered cupping as well for an additional $2. I never left that place without spending at least $50 because how could you not tip on something that fucking amazing. It was a nice reprieve from war stuff.

In turkey this treatment cisted me and my brother 40$ each (average salary in turkey is 400$). The price advised outside was just 4$ and after the cut at checkout we found the surprise (he became aggressive and insisted it was a good price). Won't ever go to turkey again. Basically everybody there is a scammer waiting to rip off the next tourist. thee barber legit made me want to fight him.

Syria is my old country, and it is true , they have the best barbers, you will walk out after 3 face masks, face massage, they’ll clean your ears nose, they will not leave a spot in your head that they don’t take care of with passion and total respect and love, all this and I paid $10 , which included a hefty tip . I see this clip and just want to go there for a hair cut . I lived in Syria 14 years and have family there
