I have been saying that for years! I get editorial want a young Spider-Man but they keep character assassinating Peter as well as his supporting cast to keep him relatable which makes zero sense. Miles is literally there for that teen demographic
Wasn't the whole point of Miles getting into the 616 universe so he'd be just that and vice versa with Peter? Like, it seems like such an obvious excuse to allow a Spider-Man to grow up AND have another Spider-Man in a new era of High School.
"we want Spider-Man to grow up but not really so lets have Peter be the adult Spider-Man but also have Miles be the teenage Spider-Man despite the fact he's also gonna grow up and be an adult eventually"
Its shocking to see that spiderman editorial doesn't seem to realize that Miles fixes their spiderman problem. Miles should exist to be the younger kid spiderman and peter can exist as the adult with a family
Yes Peter is physically in his peak in the Spider-Man games but within a couple years he lost both his aunt and almost his best friend. Plus he hasnt been even able to keep a stable job and has had a whole house to pay for. Hes just taking a break so he can have a better chance at getting his life together
Peter will always be the one and only Spider-man. Miles simply has nothing going for him except the movies. His spin-off game was mildly successful despite the fact that it was one of Ps5's only 2 initial exclusives and Insomniac's Spider-man became one of Ps4's most sold videogames and THE most sold superhero videogame ever. Miles' comics are lackluster too. Let's be honest, with the exception of Brian Michael Bendis, how many famous comic book writers have worked on Miles Morales? To this day nobody can mention any significant arc of the character, Bendis' run is mainly proposed as the best run of the character simply cause it was his first run despite its glaring problems. Saladin Ahmed's very long run is remembered only for some specific moments like Starling's introduction (which doesn't make any sense cause it was specified in the Roger Stern's run in Spectacular Spider-man 45 that Malachai was Toomes' last living relative) or the new costume. Ziglar's run at least tries to give Miles some new villains but fails miserably (like with Rabble) and then jumps on the whole new costume gimmick from time to time. I would say that the only way for Miles to be successful and finally stepping over Peter's shadow once and for all is applying the Nightwing treatment, giving him a new identity and (possibly) a new set of powers. Miles has basically the pre-Frank Miller Daredevil problem: a character that is so similar to Spider-man but that, for obvious reasons, can't reach that status quo therefore is forced to become the cheap version of Spider-man. Remove the strictly spider powers like sticking to the walls or the web-shooters and emphasize even more on his other powers like electrical manipulation or invisibility. It wouldn't even be a problem to justify it, you simply say that due to the fact that Miles is living in a universe that isn't his own his powers are changing because of some magical/multiversal law. Give him new and interesting villains, literally all of the Spider-verse movies villains are all Spider-man villains: no Ultimatum, no Assessor, no Rabble, no Selim etc. just multiversal variations of Peter's villains
@@niccoloproia3678you basically wrote a long soliloquy saying miles has nothing going for himself except for his Oscar-winning groundbreaking trilogy of films lmao if trying to minimize that ISN’T “cope” idk what is 😂 btw it’s not even true because he’s been making huge strides in other mediums including comics, and he’s done all of this in just 12 years. Not 60 like Peter had to. Explain how that isn’t impressive af without babbling about some marvel editorial conspiracy or “woke agenda” And no, I’m not going to go into an eternal back and fourth debating your pov about the comics when everyone else who’s read them (including the makers of this video) say they’re great. Too much cope isn’t good for you.
@@supermagnumable First of all i pointed out that the 2 (for the time) movies are the only things going for him, if i wanted to diminish it i could have done it but as you can see in the original message that didn't happen. Dude, Peter Parker was a huge success since the beginning. He literally appeared in the last issue of a dying series (Amazing Fantasy) just to receive an entire series only about him. Every big superhero that has ever been created (both from Marvel, DC or any other publisher) gained his/her popularity from the first period of publication. You're applying an erroneous reasoning cause you're implying that Miles was able to get all these great "successes" in 12 years while Peter ned 60. Moreover let's be honest, before December 2018 (the release date of the first Spider-verse movie) who was talking about Miles? The character got popular online AFTER the release of the movies which, as i said before, are the only things going for him. So it's not even that Miles was able to achieve any great success in 12 years but more that he received his best portrayal after more than 7 years of existence. As for the comics component, if the success of the character was even marginally due to his comic book counterpart why Miles has never performed well in comics? Not a single recognizable arc and a lot of his stories are copied from Spider-man from mainline comics (like the Clone Saga or Spider-man No More!) or entire events (like Outlawed that was a discount version of Civil War). People struggle to remember any kind of Miles' villains cause the villains that appeared in the Spider-verse movies are all multiversal variations of Peter's villains while Miles original villains are very few, lame and in some cases even dead (like with Assessor or Selim). You want to talk about the success of the character in any other media? He is one of the main complaints of the second Spider-man videogame (complaint that has been pointed out even in the video you're commenting about). As for any other thing he appeared in the Ultimate Spider-man and Marvel's Spider-man cartoons (which are considered among the worst cartoons of Spider-man). To be completely honest i don't think Miles is a hopeless character, he has potential but keeping him as the secondary Spider-man or even pretend that he could achieve Peter's status is simply ludicrous. You don't want to believe that Miles is being pushed by Marvel itself? Dude this is something that has happened before. Speedball was pushed VERY HARD when he first debuted and Marvel really thought that he could become the next big thing but it didn't happen and Marvel decided to at least use him in team books. Miles is on the same boat cause he wasn't a popular character when he debuted (not online and not even from a sales perspective) but Marvel decided to push him again and again
@@PizzaMan879 I'm referring to beyond the spider verse but I wouldn't to be too sure about what Tom Holland has going on because he never felt his own character in his movies most of the time his villains in his own movies are just iron Man villains like vulture and Mysterio and their motivations are based off iron Man they just see Spider-Man as a nuisance in Spider-Man himself in the MCU doesn't even connect with these villains at all and when watch far from home Mysterio never felt like a Spider-Man villain in this movie he's more connected with iron Man than Spider-Man and no way home the villains that came from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man universe and when they meet up their respective Spider-Man again their connections to them are much more impactful than the MCU Spider-Man since he don't even know these villains to begin with if anything I don't hate Tom Holland for being a good voice actor it's just that the material he was given by Disney was not even him being his own character he is just a filler character to fill up the extra space and also it would make no difference if he wasn't in avengers Infinity wars as he was dragged in there by his own will he was just going with the flow of the battle and when you watch other characters fight you forget that Spider-Man is even in it and even when he died no one else but the heroes cared about him and I mean just regular civilians they don't even acknowledge Spider-Man being dead they care more about iron Man than him you can even watch UA-cam videos about why Tom Holland is not the best Spider-Man and again I have no hate for him he's just not my Spider-Man
100%. They're making Peter lame while giving MIles all these extra powers. Plus they never gave Miles his own alias, he's also "Spider-Man", so it's pretty clear he's a replacement.
It makes perfect sense to me that Miles is getting more and more spotlight lately. I think it's less that Miles is replacing Peter, and more that Miles just worked well in the Ultimate Universe that they kept trying ever since to make him an official part of Spider-Man canon from bringing him into the mainline comics to putting him in games to making him the focus of the spiderverse films, they just really want to establish him as a part of Spider-Man canon and whether that works or not is really just personal preference. I don't think Marvel necessarily hates Peter, they just really didn't know what to do with him since the 2010s. I really like Miles, especially after Into the Spiderverse, he reminds me a lot of Static and that's a good thing, I wouldn't be surprised if Miles was actually based a lot on Static since Dwayne McDuffie died only a couple months before Miles' first appearance, so I can see it kind of being a tribute to him. My only real problem is that I've never been a fan of there being two spider-mans at the same time. To me, if Miles is Spider-Man, Peter should be dead or retired. I know this is an unpopular opinion around some circles but with the exception of characters Green Lantern I don't like when multiple heroes share the same name at the same time, one of them either needs to have their own name or one of them needs to be out of the picture. The problem with applying the first solution to Miles is that the whole point of the character is that he IS Spider-Man, not just another kid with Spider Powers, not just another kid who is also Spider-Man, no, he IS Spider-Man, the first solution kind of defeats the purpose of the character. So, really, the only solution that fully satisfies me is for Peter to have died or retired but comics are probably never going to do that and they probably shouldn't do that, so it puts Miles in this very weird place for me where he really only works in a separate universe from 616. He's also feels a bit too derivative at times, like there's a lot of characters both in Marvel and DC that take from Peter like Jaime Reyes or Kamala Khan or Virgil Hawkins or Terry McGinnis, but those have enough uniqueness to them that they stand out (well, besides Terry, Batman Beyond is just a Spider-Man show, honestly just made the show better in my opinion). Miles is kind of just Peter mixed with Static, which isn't bad, it basically gives Marvel their own Static, but it also makes Miles feel less unique when compared to other Peter inspired characters. And that's weird to say since Miles is a Spider-Man, so he should have similarities to Peter, but he should also feel unique. Again, this isn't saying Miles is a bad character, but it's hard for me to ignore the obvious inspirations.
I personally prefer Peter because aside from growing up with him as Spider-Man he to me is a bit more interesting because Stan Lee said that he can be like anyone else because he dealt with struggles holding down a job, troubles with his love life, trying to balance out his life as Peter Parker but also as Spider-Man and he's had so many amazing stories pre-One More Day. I mean the death of Gwen Stacy is what changed the comic book industry completely. Miles is cool he is but I honestly think aside from Spider-verse he's not that interesting because he doesn't seem to struggle as badly as Peter did which is fine but that's just my opinion
The problem is Marvel editorial refusing to allow Peter to evolve as a character. In 2007, Marvel brought Peter back to a status quo that comic readers had moved on from decades ago when they released One More Day. Miles is still relatively new compared to Peter so there’s a lot more new stuff they can do with him as the young relatable high-school age Spider-Man. Peter is pushing 30 in 616 now. He should be the responsible adult Spider-Man who has his shit together and Miles should be the teenager who’s still worrying about talking to girls and getting his homework done and struggling to maintain a healthy work/life balance. But no. Marvel editorial wants Peter and Miles to both fill the latter role for some bizarre fucking reason. This is also the reason why we can’t get an experienced adult Peter Parker in other media. They are hyper-fixated on his high-school years. MARVEL DOESN’T WANT PETER PARKER TO GROW UP!
Peter Parker is the far superior Spider-Man, and it’s not even close. Peter is one of the most iconic fictional characters of all time. Miles is cool but he’s no Peter, he doesn’t have the character Peter does. I really don’t see where you’re getting all this stuff about miles. From everything I’ve seen literally the only good miles story out there is just spider verse. Miles should not replace Peter and miles is not as cool as Peter.
Who has better story arcs? Peter Who has better villains, Peter Who sells more comics, Peter Ann I wrong? I could name tones of amazing stories Peter has had, in comics, movies and games. How many has miles had? The writers just need to let Peter grow up, they are constantly writing Peter backwards instead of looking forward. We all want to see him and Mj together but then they do One More Day.
@@sora_2342 your not seeing the problem. Or why this dude is right. We know Peter is better but it doesn't do him any good when his story is written badly. When I saw them do to Pete in the beginning of zeb wells run I left the run altogether. I havent bought amazing soider-man in a very long time. I bought ultimate spider-man because i liked what was happening way better there. Peter might sell the most books but people are only going to buy what they want to see. Zeb wells run did actual damage to their own sales. Now I skipped miles cause I felt they were pushing him while pushing down Peter. (New power stunt with his powers and now he's a daywalker) I don't like that but you can tell he had funner stories.
Bruh when was this. He basically did not say those specific lines. I seriously hate this fanbase at times especially when it comes to the Peter and Miles debate when it's the same crap over and over. It's perfectly okay not liking a character but some of the stuff I'm seeing on here is genuinely from a place of bias and just things that never happened coming from Peter fans
I like Miles, But he needs to stay in the ultimate universe. Although, I do like his inclusion with Peter in the PS5 games. But it's all about Peter in the main 616.
@@dischordblast8992 As much as I'm with you, Taiga does seem to be stating the consensus. You rarely see, when Spider-Man is mentioned, anyone take a moment to mention that they mean Peter Parker. "Spider-Man" is just Spider-Man. But if it's Miles Morales, heck, sometimes they don't even mention him as Spider-Man. I'll see on UA-cam something like: Who was your favorite character from the latest Spider-Verse crossover? A) Spider-Man B) Spider-Gwen C) Silk D) Miles Morales
@@angryretailbanker5103 I see it but his game is titled “Spider-Man Miles Morales” as the audience we only use Miles to clarify which one we are talking about in universe he is just the other Spider-Man
This was a really interesting video. Peter just getting outed as the main line Spider Man by Miles sucks because for older audiences (I'm currently 18 and was exposed to Spider Man from the Raimi films) like before Miles's rise to fame, we grew up with Peter. It feels like since Miles is Peter's successor, marvel editorial are really trying to make Miles the better spiderman while Peter just gets worse because he's just "old". I have no hate for Miles, he is an awesome character since he does embody a Spider Man that Peter wishes he could be but Peter is still "the" Spider Man because he is the first and the one who gave us this unique take on superheroes where they struggle to live normal lives while being a superhero. Also, if it wasn't for him, other Spider characters wouldn't have existed. I'm hoping that they put both Peter and Miles on equal footing because I don't want to choose. They are amazing characters.
@@Swavae Peter is 32, he’s not old. By your logic the entire X-Men or Human Torch OR Daredevil is old because all of those people are around the same age. And being old wouldnt change that Spider-Man being the goat of not only marvel but fiction. Sorry miles fan but your dream will never come true
@@Sjwlerisiken idc about miles taking over Peter, lol he already is better then Peter, y'all Peter fans just cant accept it and it's not my problem lol
Im kinda neutral on it. I wouldn't be mad if miles did or didn't replace peter but I AM mad at marvel constantly not cutting peter a break in his own life
It mostly comes down to modern 616 comics being like a 5/10, but for general movie watching audiences, miles recaptures the charming relatability for young men (i.e. the average superhero fan) that peter had previously. As a 21 year old guy, i relate more to current miles than current peter. I love both though.
@@comiclads I do to, I also wish everytime this comparison is brought up that it didn't devolve into a political thing in the comments when that's got pretty much nothing to do with it
@@_marz03exactly. Every time this topic comes up centered around both characters it turns to a mess in the comments overall. Its like they can't exist in the same breath for some reason
The reason Miles is being used so much is because Sony doesn’t have the live action rights to use him so Marvel has been pushing the character into bigger stories where Peter should be involved but isn’t so that Sony can’t use it in a movie. Basically it’s the Inhumans and The X-men stuff but with Spider-Man. Growing up I loved Spider-Man 2099 but Peter is by far my favorite of the Spider-people
The real answer is that Miles juat isn’t replacing peter, idk where people gotthis idea from. Peter is still the main spider-man in the movies, games, comics, and shows. Peter is in the same tier of characters like clark kent, bruce wayne, diana prince, steve rogers, etc where these characters are so iconic and important that they are NEVER going to be replaced permanently and we've seen them try and fail multiple times. Peter isn’t being replaced the real problem is that the 616 Amazing Spider-man run is the worst piece of Spider-man media ever and has clouded people's view of peter as a whole now seeing him as lesser when that isn’t the case.
I can see miles taking over for an older peter who wants to retire and live out his life, but I do like them as a team. They are both spider man to me.
@@TheBackseaterwhatever. I know where this is going so I won't engage. I've seen your other comments so I know this is futile but saying it's a fact is respectfully not the case. It's like people can't have preferences and I dunno like one over the other even if the other one came before. This should not even be a problem but the fanbase or Peter fans at times make it out to be more than it is. Or finally maybe someone can like both. Not really a big deal to me🤷
Are you guys gonna make a vid reacting and discussing the fact Miles is a Vampire now? And just kinda walks around at daytime without ANY side effects?
He and Batman Beyond are in a similar boat, they both exist to replace the one that came before them, except one is actually necessary, and thats Terry. Peter is completely capable of doing everything himself and he has no reason not to, Bruce got too old to continue the mission, so he had to give it up, which is why Terry exists. I wish people would stop pretending like Miles isn't just a replacement for Peter. He's inferior in almost every way and doesn't actually bring anything positive (besides a break) to Peter, whereas Terry gives Bruce a lot of things, like someone who will put up with his crap.
I feel like Peter could still match Miles' upgraded powers with his inventions. From armors to web gadgets outside of web shooters, that could balance out him not having more varied powers like Miles.
In spiderman games it makes sense if they got the first peter design going those trauma, but the new ones felt like cuter and doesn't represent angryness
It is pretty clear, he is getting replaced in the insomniac, they already replaced him on the spiderverse issue also not showing others such as Madaam Web for Miguel for some reason, original Jessica Drew etc
That's a fair point, but I think it's important to acknowledge both characters as Spider-Man. Peter is iconic and the original, no doubt about it. But Miles has also made a significant impact, adding a fresh perspective. Both are valid holders of the title, and having two Spider-Men can lead to interesting stories. It's not about taking anything away from Peter, but rather expanding the Spider-Man legacy in a positive way.
I’ve always said miles should the teen, single spider-man that marvel loves to lock Peter in. Miles should be the Sony spider-man too. Meanwhile 616 Peter should be like Peter b Parker with a kid by now and mcu spider-man should be peter who’s grows into an adult as well.
Maybe I’m wrong but didn’t the creator of Miles purposely give him all these powers cuz he just wanted him to be cooler/better than Peter or something? Heard that before. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
With respect, I don’t really think this is a fair argument. I think the comics have definitely done Peter dirty lately, but I think other mediums have done him well. The Tom Holland films I felt weren’t mid. I still stand by that No Way Home especially was great! Also, to your point about Peter going through the same arc over and over again in those films, I would argue that I kinda see myself in him a bit for that reason! There are many times where I’ve had to re-learn a lesson that I already learned. And Peter isn’t retiring at the end of Spider-Man 2. He’s just taking a much deserved break after all the trauma he’s endured for the past couple games. He’ll obviously be back. And it’s not like he’s just sitting on his ass either. He’s restarting the Emily-May foundation, saving the world in a different way.
In the game peter is 100% coming back for his third game obviously for the goblin and harry story, but i bet we will get another miles morales game before we get spider man 3 and that will focus on a better longer miles story before we go back to peter giving peter that time to retire and maybe help and offer miles help on the size or maybe just have him help on a side mission in queens for fun
I'm not a fan of Miles having all of Peter's powers plus more. It's not the biggest problem with Parker's characterization recently, but it's part of it. Personally, I think that if Miles has the extra powers of bioelectricity etc., then he should have a weaker version of some of the "traditional" spider powers. We know that both of them are holding back with their physical strength in the vast majority of fights, but maybe you could have it that Miles is only holding back a little bit, so if they were both going all-out, Pete would be significantly stronger. But the bigger problem is that Peter's character progression is either stunted (in the films where he's never been allowed to grow up or progress in any significant way), or done really poorly (like in the 616 comics). Miles ariving should be a significant milestone in Peter's character progression, but it either has no effect on him or the writers use it to make Peter unlikeable (which only works if you're trying to make the cannonically nice and virtuous Peter Parker start some kind of villain arc - difficult, but not impossible). Peter Parker was originally created by Stan Lee to be a "superhero with problems." He should continue to be that, but if Miles comes along to be the "superhero with teenage problems," then Pete should become the "superhero with young adult problems." There's plenty of room to tell those kinds of stories without making it a miserable slog for Peter or making him an insufferable ass.
Peter Parker Spider-Man is one of my favorite fictional characters ever. I can definitely tell that Marvel is trying to replace Peter with Miles. They continuously write Pete as a complete loser in recent years and prop up Miles in Peter's place. It's honestly heartbreaking. The recent stuff that happened with Ben Reilly sucked, too, since I also like him
@@Taydar At the end of the day for Miles stories. Aren't they basically remixes? Like they're different enough to not be the same. But essentially Miles is repeating what Peter has done?
yeah, they downplay Peter while copiying all stories of pete to miles and giving him diversity boost like x3 powers ...he not underdog so can't be a "Spider-Man"
I see it now. The screen was on Zoom, and the Thanks button was hidden. Ok, thanks. I do hope the writing gets better. I haven't read a great deal of Marvel since the end of Immortal Hulk, but sometimes a Spidey comic looks interesting, and proves to be a disappointment.
I think miles character is simply taking on the roll Peter had in the 60’s. He’s the face for the younger generation of comic book fans&peter is now the undisputed GOAT for the OG fans because the Spider-Man universe has grown exponentially.
They keep giving miles new powers like his electric powers the. He became a vampire every spider person has gotten a power boost except Peter venom basically became the king of symbiots miles has vampire powers now and is a day walker like blade spider Gwen just got new powers also Ben Riley became king of hell
They said after the spider-verse trilogy they're gonna make more movies but just as a different protagonist. Either make a Ben Reilly trilogy...or make them about peter. Here me out now. When was the last time we got a good Adaptation? Im not sure. Spectacular maybe? Meh, we need more good peter content
As for as Miles beating Symbiote Peter he really didn’t. Peter was still holding back even in this boss fight. It’s even shown at the end of the boss fight where Miles exploits his weakness of sounds and we see Peter laying on the ground and finally listens to Miles and admits that the symbiote has corrupted him far too much and he needs to take it off him now. Miles didn’t beat him. Miles convinced Peter take off the suit
I’d say to me Peter and Miles are about even. I grew up with Spectacular Spider-Man, the amazing Spider-Man movie, and the Sam Raimi Trilogy. Meanwhile Miles first run where he became Spider-Man was actually the first Marvel Comic I ever bought along with the Spiderverse movies pushing him to the forefront. I loved Ultimate Spider-Man (the comics) as that’s how I got into both Peter and Miles as characters. I’d say the main thing that’s been pushing Miles is the movies, games, and comics meanwhile Peter has gotten the short end of the stick. Peter is my OG and always will be while Miles was probably the thing that got me into comics when I was a kid.
Peter doesn’t even need new powers, they just need to stop fucking him over to keep him relevant 😭, let him get a relationship get married maybe actually have a kid in 616 in 10 years or so when its been a long ass time of peter being around people will probably accept miles morales as a permanent younger spider man by then
I like Peter more, but i see the reason for Miles existing. Miles in his original setting seemed to have a self worth problem and feeling like he didn't earn anything. His parents just want best for him but he doesn't know how to live up to that. I think everyone can relate to that to some degree. But Marvel really hasn't leaned into to what makes Miles different from Peter lately. So, I like Miles as a concept, standing up to a challenge and facing your greatest fear, "failure" head on. He constantly is trying to better himself that's what drew me in the first time. But now it's like Marvel thinks "oo ,shiny" is the way to go for his character. Miles hasn't even gotten many of his own villains, and he has been around for a decade . I like him better than all the other "spider" persona's because he has reason for existing, has different obstacles to face and he didn't just take the persona cause he couldn't come up with his own thing. He felt he had to continue what Peter started after he died because miles watched on and did nothing. TLDR: Miles has lore and relatable struggles so like him the most out of all the "Spider-lings", but I like Peter more cause Marvel has yet to do anything good to flesh out Miles more as of late.
would you rather have miles take over and have spiderman just live life with mary jane or would you rather have the zeb wells run. personally im taking miles
Honestly, Peter has had it so rough the last few years in comics I feel like he needs to just die for a bit, in some big event. And have it stick for a while you get to see everyone’s reactions in the main line universe to his death, before bringing him back in like a year. At that point will be happy to see him and the memory of the last few years of comics will have faded, and we can get back to good Peter Parker stories.
I think they both should exist but maybe use mile’s comics to give peter some time to grow up. Make him a mentor who doesn’t put on the suit as much and is starting a family with mj. Miles fixes the issue of wanting Spider-Man to stay young but also lets peter get older
i will go to peter and the old school one and i feel like they make spider man miles just for black people with all the respect to them but if they need to do it make a black peter like in another dimension with same stories of original peter and with power of miles morals i dont like 2 spiders in the same city Honestly This is my point of view. and i love you guys and i love all content creators that are Interested with spider man world am big fan boy of spidey❤
I’ll always love Peter Parker’s Spider-Man. No current amazing Spider-Man comics, and as cool as parallel universe versions of Spidey are, I’ll always love Peter Parker. Especially Spider-Man & Spider-Man 2
I can't say much on the comics because I haven't read them but I would disagree on the movies and games because despite Spiderverse 1 and 2 being great, the Tom Holland movies were also great due to the developing Peter in different ways in each movie while him trying to be like Iron Man was only present in the first movie; the games also had Peter go through a lot ehich lead him to want to take a break inorder to get his life together while building a business for himself which is a sign of progression instead of him being lame. I don't think that they are trying to replace him but they are likely just emphasizing him as his own hero alongside Peter.
Hey. You didn't monetize this, so I can't send a superchat. Morales has a better chance than Ben Reilly did, but I don't think fans overall are going to allow Parker to be replaced.
1) Peter is the definitive Spider-Man. Miles is a DEI character that has been intentionally pushed so hard that Marvel executives want to push Peter off the board in favor of a younger Spidey. 2) They're doing the same thing to Captain America using both Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, and Peggy Carter to replace Steve. 3) Then there's the whole RiRi Williams thing for Tony Stark. 4) Jane Foster for Thor. 5) John Kent taking the mantle of Superman from Clark. 6) Batman mantle is threatened by the likes of Nightwing, Luke FOX, and Damian Wayne.
That what I have been saying l just wish Peter Parker's character development would stay permanent and actually continuing his development like peter b parker and miles morales should be the one that the younger generations of comic book readers can resonate with like high school and with every day things and he should be his own character like the spider verse movies where miles respect the legacy that Peter Parker left behind while being his own version of a unique character
my problem is people complain about miles and don’t provide any ways to improve and people who say miles isn’t spider-man even though miles is spider-man
my biggest issue with this is that Miles will just inherit all of Peter's Rouge Galleries and enemies with none of the history or baggage because the baggage is to much for Peter. Miles alone would honestly get boring in oh new kid fighting Venom that really established character with this new punk.
I feel so bad for Peter, its's not his fault he sucks. When any IP reaches a certain level of popularity the higher ups "suits" get involved in the creative process and it becomes corporate and shitty. If Miles continues to succeed it will happen to him to.
For me, I HATE what there doing rn. BUT….it is only for rn. W/ the Death SM special thing coming out soon (8 deaths of SM or smth like that)I think that’ll turn it around. The current run has made Pete a loser, but once Zeb gets his far @ss outa the writing booth Peter will become awesome again. Sure, Miles is awesome, but I don’t think he’s replacing Peter (at least in 616) the movies/games… 😣🔫 Why. Just why Let’s wait for Zeb to finally make our lives worth living by leaving, than I think Peter will finally get the treatment he deserves Also about the 1v1 thing, it’s practically been confirmed by feats that Peter could slam Miles 9 times outa 10 (reply if u want proof) I’m just ready for Peter to be the bad@ss we know him as 😅
Miles comics interesting? they made him a vampire now, ASM had probably the worst run since the clone saga we agree but.....Most of the time they dont know what to do with Miles so they gave him dragon ball powers and a sword, marvel its not doing well besides ultimate spiderman and xmen relaunch so far
I personally liked both Peter Parker Spider-Man and miles morales Spider-Man and personally for me I would rather have Peter Parker be married to his wife Mary Jane and they have there daughter mayday Parker spider-girl by their side and miles morales Spider-Man could help mayday Parker how to be a hero also Peter Parker Spider-Man can help his daughter mayday Parker spider girl too and boom problem solved everybody wins but that’s just my opinion.
I don’t know I like them both. I don’t like that. There’s a competition between the two I always thought of them to be kind of equal, but I do agree the comics in recent years haven’t done Peter Parker Spider-Man Justice. It’s mostly nostalgia at this point, but I don’t think he can replace him peter Parker’s version of Spider-Man just way too popular to be replaced, but I wouldn’t mind seeing more live action or animated Miles stories because I like when DC or Marvel are able to get into the characters that people don’t know as much about
@@DrPepperIsBae yes it does because when they are together in the same comic they push Peter down to make miles feats look better. dosent take 2 brain cells to see that
With Tom Holland not even being my favorite iteration of Peter/Spidermann possibly getting more movies after the No Way Home that showed us EVERY single live action Peter continuing the hype and revitalizing hype, Peter aint going away any time soon. Doubly so for the Ultimate Comics which highlights why Peter as Spiderman is the one. Im sorry Miles fans, but he is not the future of Spider-Man. And Miles aint smart like Peter whose always making gadgets and different suits
Well miles is over powered he does have things that hold him back to be on Pete’s level like Miles base spider-powers like his super-strength,speed,durability are weaker then Peter’s that is actually the whole reason miles has extra powers so he can keep up with Pete cause if he didn’t Pete would leave miles in the dust cause miles without his extra powers is a just a weaker Peter due to having his powers based off the less powerful and younger ultimate Peter of 1610 This is shown in the comics like miles can’t hurt rhino without using his venom his normal punches do nothing to him meanwhile we have seen peter beat the dogshit out of rhino countless times and completely over power him with just his strength and miles has been blitzed by scorpion someone we know Pete is faster then that is just a few examples like that to show their differences So in the end they are equal with different strength and weakness peter is the more physical dominant of the two having almost all the stat advantages like strength, speed, durability ect.. while also having more experience and being smarter and miles has the more ability’s,ap,power, and probably dc too if they were to fight without trash writing being involved I would give it to peter who seems to have way more experience fighting spider-people with extra powers like venom who has destroyed miles effortlessly in the past Miles is just too inexperienced to use his advantages plus he is at a disadvantage in close combat cause Pete is a martial art master having his own martial art and being trained by Shang chi, captain America,iron-fist and I’m pretty sure black widow too
So I like miles more, but that being, I admit it my bias as a minority male. But when I think of iconic Spiderman moments and my favorite storyline, interaction with other characters it's always Pete. That being said, I don't like how miles is constantly getting new abilities. I'm okay with his power evolving, but not new ones from nowhere. I they should have different specialty like miles has venom, and invisibility, but Pete should have been stronger, faster, and have better spider sense to compensate. I think Marvel is following the iPhone strategy where to help promote the new products they make the previous version start having problems.
I'm 1000% sure the reason Miles is replacing Peter is because of the Sony rights. If they could actually kill off Spider-Man like they did Wolverine, I'm sure they'd do it, but the book makes them too much money ontop of being their flagship book
Miles and peter are the best, but peter fans hate change and just hate on miles for nor reasin because theu dont like change, racist, or afraid he will replace peter lol
Peter was not supposed to be a cool character. He’s a nerd with a good heart who becomes Spider-Man, you can’t replace him. Whose miles villain rogue gallery? Exactly? Plus Peter isn’t supposed to be cooler like what? Who has the more iconic stories? Peter does! It’s not close Peter is him!
I want Peter for adult stories and Miles for high school stories.
Let peter be married with kids and have miles for the teen stories
Miles is in college, maybe he doesn't have to be a teen but rather a young adult

Its shocking to see that spiderman editorial doesn't seem to realize that Miles fixes their spiderman problem. Miles should exist to be the younger kid spiderman and peter can exist as the adult with a family

First of all i pointed out that the 2 (for the time) movies are the only things going for him, if i wanted to diminish it i could have done it but as you can see in the original message that didn't happen.
BASED. I keep saying that Marvel should do this, but nobody listens!

It's a hard place to be in
I personally prefer Peter because aside from growing up with him as Spider-Man he to me is a bit more interesting because Stan Lee said that he can be like anyone else because he dealt with struggles holding down a job, troubles with his love life, trying to balance out his life as Peter Parker but also as Spider-Man and he's had so many amazing stories pre-One More Day. I mean the death of Gwen Stacy is what changed the comic book industry completely. Miles is cool he is but I honestly think aside from Spider-verse he's not that interesting because he doesn't seem to struggle as badly as Peter did which is fine but that's just my opinion
It’s funny because I think the first time I was introduced to Miles was in the Ultimate Spider-Man show. Not Spiderverse.
You should read more comics and being iconic or having Peter's character isnt really an argument for why Peter is or isnt being replaced.
Who has better story arcs? Peter
Who has better villains, Peter
Who sells more comics, Peter
Ann I wrong?
I could name tones of amazing stories Peter has had, in comics, movies and games. How many has miles had?
The writers just need to let Peter grow up, they are constantly writing Peter backwards instead of looking forward. We all want to see him and Mj together but then they do One More Day.

Miles Morales was literally created to replace Peter Parker when he died.

To appeal to modern audiences
It is pretty clear, he is getting replaced in the insomniac, they already replaced him on the spiderverse issue also not showing others such as Madaam Web for Miguel for some reason, original Jessica Drew etc

Anime openers are random and can be applied to anything.
Peter is the only spiderman. If you say spiderman your mind will instantly think of Peter, you have to always specify if you mean miles

The comic lads will never cease to put the Norman Gwen panels into every spidey vid😂
Peter > Miles
I see it now. The screen was on Zoom, and the Thanks button was hidden.
Ok, thanks. I do hope the writing gets better. I haven't read a great deal of Marvel since the end of Immortal Hulk, but sometimes a Spidey comic looks interesting, and proves to be a disappointment.
I think miles character is simply taking on the roll Peter had in the 60’s. He’s the face for the younger generation of comic book fans&peter is now the undisputed GOAT for the OG fans because the Spider-Man universe has grown exponentially.
Peter may just be the most done dirty character of all time.
Peter doesn’t even need new powers, they just need to stop fucking him over to keep him relevant 😭, let him get a relationship get married maybe actually have a kid in 616 in 10 years or so when its been a long ass time of peter being around people will probably accept miles morales as a permanent younger spider man by then
Between Miles and Peter, I prefer Peter. However, Gwen is my favorite Spider :)
Unfortunately Peter has been a victim of "the writer's barely disguised fetish" meme for a long time. Still love him though
Peter is OG and the best.
would you rather have miles take over and have spiderman just live life with mary jane or would you rather have the zeb wells run. personally im taking miles
I like the idea but if that happens the grifters would absolutely crucify miles
I like both Miles and Peter💙❤️🖤❤️🕷️🔥🔥
I think they both should exist but maybe use mile’s comics to give peter some time to grow up. Make him a mentor who doesn’t put on the suit as much and is starting a family with mj. Miles fixes the issue of wanting Spider-Man to stay young but also lets peter get older
Checkout Spectacular Spidermen by Greg Weisman. Same writer that made the animated series, has both Peter and Miles working together
i will go to peter and the old school one and i feel like they make spider man miles just for black people with all the respect to them but if they need to do it make a black peter like in another dimension with same stories of original peter and with power of miles morals i dont like 2 spiders in the same city Honestly This is my point of view. and i love you guys and i love all content creators that are Interested with spider man world am big fan boy of spidey❤
Making a black peter is horrible. Then it would actually just be pandering to blacks
I’ll always love Peter Parker’s Spider-Man. No current amazing Spider-Man comics, and as cool as parallel universe versions of Spidey are, I’ll always love Peter Parker. Especially Spider-Man & Spider-Man 2
You lads are my favorite spidermen
I can't say much on the comics because I haven't read them but I would disagree on the movies and games because despite Spiderverse 1 and 2 being great, the Tom Holland movies were also great due to the developing Peter in different ways in each movie while him trying to be like Iron Man was only present in the first movie; the games also had Peter go through a lot ehich lead him to want to take a break inorder to get his life together while building a business for himself which is a sign of progression instead of him being lame.
I don't think that they are trying to replace him but they are likely just emphasizing him as his own hero alongside Peter.
you think they will ever give Miles a Paul?
Hey. You didn't monetize this, so I can't send a superchat.
Morales has a better chance than Ben Reilly did, but I don't think fans overall are going to allow Parker to be replaced.
Definitely not ‘replaced’ but it does seem like Peter is getting the short end of the stick recently.
Our monetization is on btw :)
I prefer Peter Parker because he introduced me to spiderman
For me, I HATE what there doing rn. BUT….it is only for rn. W/ the Death SM special thing coming out soon (8 deaths of SM or smth like that)I think that’ll turn it around. The current run has made Pete a loser, but once Zeb gets his far @ss outa the writing booth Peter will become awesome again. Sure, Miles is awesome, but I don’t think he’s replacing Peter (at least in 616) the movies/games… 😣🔫
Why. Just why
Let’s wait for Zeb to finally make our lives worth living by leaving, than I think Peter will finally get the treatment he deserves
Also about the 1v1 thing, it’s practically been confirmed by feats that Peter could slam Miles 9 times outa 10 (reply if u want proof) I’m just ready for Peter to be the bad@ss we know him as 😅
While I appreciate your optimism, there's no guarantee that the next writer(s) won't be just as bad as *or worse than* Zeb Wells...
Who is Spider-Man version of Batman Beyond?
Miguel O'Hara even though he came before Terry
@@DrPepperIsBae Would you consider him a good successor?
@@CodenamePrince Yes
It’s mostly nostalgia at this point, but I don’t think he can replace him peter Parker’s version of Spider-Man just way too popular to be replaced, but I wouldn’t mind seeing more live action or animated Miles stories because I like when DC or Marvel are able to get into the characters that people don’t know as much about
One movie cant compare to decades of great Pete spiderman comics cmon now.
Miles is a vampire now 😑MARVEL FIX PETER
i dont know that he can or not , but that what marvel wanna do
I just dont like miles as a character simply because they cant make him shine without pushing down peter. Spider verse Miles is cool as fuck tho
Peter being pushed down got nothing to do with Miles
@@DrPepperIsBae yes it does because when they are together in the same comic they push Peter down to make miles feats look better. dosent take 2 brain cells to see that
@@asce2crazy They barely interact in the comics until The Spectacular Spider-Men comic
@@DrPepperIsBae dosent change what im saying
@@asce2crazy You didn't provide any proof soo
With Tom Holland not even being my favorite iteration of Peter/Spidermann possibly getting more movies after the No Way Home that showed us EVERY single live action Peter continuing the hype and revitalizing hype, Peter aint going away any time soon.
Doubly so for the Ultimate Comics which highlights why Peter as Spiderman is the one. Im sorry Miles fans, but he is not the future of Spider-Man.
And Miles aint smart like Peter whose always making gadgets and different suits
Well miles is over powered he does have things that hold him back to be on Pete’s level like Miles base spider-powers like his super-strength,speed,durability are weaker then Peter’s that is actually the whole reason miles has extra powers so he can keep up with Pete cause if he didn’t Pete would leave miles in the dust cause miles without his extra powers is a just a weaker Peter due to having his powers based off the less powerful and younger ultimate Peter of 1610
This is shown in the comics like miles can’t hurt rhino without using his venom his normal punches do nothing to him meanwhile we have seen peter beat the dogshit out of rhino countless times and completely over power him with just his strength and miles has been blitzed by scorpion someone we know Pete is faster then that is just a few examples like that to show their differences
So in the end they are equal with different strength and weakness peter is the more physical dominant of the two having almost all the stat advantages like strength, speed, durability ect.. while also having more experience and being smarter and miles has the more ability’s,ap,power, and probably dc too
if they were to fight without trash writing being involved I would give it to peter who seems to have way more experience fighting spider-people with extra powers like venom who has destroyed miles effortlessly in the past Miles is just too inexperienced to use his advantages plus he is at a disadvantage in close combat cause Pete is a martial art master having his own martial art and being trained by Shang chi, captain America,iron-fist and I’m pretty sure black widow too
Unfortunately, Marvel is filled with nothing *but* trash writing...
I prefer Peter Parker
Miles is epitome of mid
That's a lie
OK I am on spider man 2 so maybe marvel spider-man is ranked 19 but miles 10000 ranked
It’s shit like this that makes people hate miles
I'm 1000% sure the reason Miles is replacing Peter is because of the Sony rights. If they could actually kill off Spider-Man like they did Wolverine, I'm sure they'd do it, but the book makes them too much money ontop of being their flagship book
Miles and peter are the best, but peter fans hate change and just hate on miles for nor reasin because theu dont like change, racist, or afraid he will replace peter lol
Comic Lads: "Peter should be sick!"
Comic Writers: "Great idea! Peter should get pancreatic cancer!"
I feel like at this point i don't care about Peter so much, it makes me not care about Miles.
60+ years 😂😂😂😂
Hes not and if he was it wouldn't be a problem
Peter was not supposed to be a cool character. He’s a nerd with a good heart who becomes Spider-Man, you can’t replace him. Whose miles villain rogue gallery? Exactly? Plus Peter isn’t supposed to be cooler like what? Who has the more iconic stories? Peter does! It’s not close Peter is him!
