  • In this Flats Class UA-cam video Captain C.A. Richardson will be going over how to catch multiple species of fish using Bucktail jigs. Now we all know that when it comes to Bucktial jig fishing they aren’t the fanciest lures to use but they can definitely deliver when it comes to catching fish. Funny I just picked up a bucktail jig at my local fishing outlet and I stumbled on this video. I don't believe in coincidence. I believe I'm called to be a "real" lure fisherman. Thanks to this video I will go stock up on bucktails from now on. No more $15 pencil poppers.

If you can only choose one lure to fish a white bucktail is a wise way to go. Thank you for the spotlight of this tried and true classic.

Haven’t done much inshore with them but another plus: they hold procure scent very well if you’re into that.

Great info C.A. Caught my first snook on a bucktail jig when I was 10 years old. BTW, it was 36”s. So I have been a fan ever since....

Great info. I have been following you for years. I really enjoy tying my own jigs. I have used several fly fishing patterns and made buck tail jigs out of them. Very successful.

Awesome info CA. I’ve never been terribly successful with a bucktail, but this year it’s my goal to gain confidence in them. I will be watching in waypoint for sure!

Great video! My go to lure for snook on the beach is a white (glow) bucktail. It's probably caught 90% of them for me. I've tried them in the mangrove back country but not had much success there. I'm going to give it another try! I really like the idea of putting bands on with a sharpie! Thanks for another great video.

You are by far one of my favorite channels to watch. I just started spring semester here in Ohio and had to squeeze in some flats class for some extra credit! Are you sponsored by zman?

I wish I had better luck with bucktails. I've tried them quite a bit and only caught a few fish on them. Even today I tried one with no bites. When I switched to a Gulp swimming mullet I caught a couple trout immediately. I always have some in my kit and I try them around the Chesapeake. But maybe the problem is lack of fish where I can go, and not because I can't catch fish on them? I won't give up. And if I ever get out in a boat I'll definitely take a bunch for flounder and cobia.

I wish Zman would make a bucktail with a Elaztech keeper so we can use Elaztech trailers to slow the fall and add action

Does anyone know how i can commercially buy bucktails? I hate seeing such simple lures just under the price of a rapala twitch bait

First you give up the ned rig secret, now you spill the beans on bucktail! Don't you dare tell them about putting on a fly dropper rig too!
