  • It might just be true, the bucktail is the only fishing lure you need to globally catch both fresh and salt water fish. In this video we use it to catch Bluefish and Striped Bass in the Northeast.

    Bucktail have been a standard out here on the West Coast,… all the hardcore Striper guys cast them including myself for the last 50+ years …,standard issue of veteran striped bass fishermen 👍😎🤙

      I think that one was 1oz but I carry a bunch and switch depending on the tide

    Nice. So... you switched from the Kastmaster to the bucktail after you caught that small bass? Still just a little early up here in NH, but starting to see a few arriving.

      Yeah I think I was trying soft plastics, then metals and when none of that worked I called the bucktail for help. That's wild they aren't up there yet, the big ones are just about out of NY already.

      @@livenhfree Right on, its always cool to see the pattern change every year. We had a slow start with cold fronts but this years kinda similar to 2005-2010. Should only get better

      Full Moon this coming week. Though I haven't had much luck at that spot on high moon tides.
      Do you have any opinions either way on fishing the Full Moon in that specific area?

    Just in case... you should make sure youre not wearing waders on a kayak. If you take a spill, and you will, the waders will make you sink.

      What up Karl, this day it was a Gulp Jerk shad. But I've really been liking the jig strips this season, they seem to be working the best for bass.

    You sound kind of disappointed in catching a striper. Carol burn that size I'd be happy with more so even bigger but I'd be happy with that one that was good eating size. Unfortunately the only ones I've caught were landlocked stripers. In reservoirs we don't get them down here in Texas. In certain parts we do but of course is there freshwater stripers. Still nothing to complain about.
